Chapter 325: Chapter 325: I Can Marry You

Hearing the scream, Mr. Mu took the lead and ran towards the house, with Gu Jiaojiao close behind him.

Old Sir Han and Mr. Xiao brought up the rear while their men stopped everyone else at the entrance to the Mu Family’s courtyard.

In the Mu Family’s first-floor living room, almost anything that could be thrown was smashed on the ground—a thermos, a porcelain basin, teacups... The place was a total wreck.

The screaming continued. Mr. Mu quickly opened a room door. "Ziquan, Ziquan, is he having another episode?"

"Mr. Mu, the young master’s condition is getting worse and worse, and the episodes are becoming more frequent," said a worried and anxious voice.

Gu Jiaojiao followed Mr. Mu into the room and immediately saw a burly young man standing by the door.

His eyes were crimson and bloodshot, the veins on the back of his hands bulged, and his entire being seemed to be in agony.

Gu Jiaojiao thought he was Mr. Mu’s grandson. ’This doesn’t seem like too big of a problem,’ she thought. "Where are you uncomfortable?"

"It’s not me. It’s our young master having an episode. We had no other choice, so the two of us tied him to the bed."

As he spoke, the burly young man stepped aside. Beside the bed was another young man, bent over and trying to hold down the person on it.

Only then did Gu Jiaojiao see a person lying face down on the bed. His fingers were gripping the bedsheet so hard it looked like he wanted to flip the entire bed over in pain.

A pair of deep, beautiful eyes revealed extreme agony, and beads of sweat had already formed on his smooth forehead.

He had already snapped one of the ropes binding him, and his body was arching up in pain. ’Could it be mania?’

Gu Jiaojiao’s heart clenched at the sight. She hurriedly strode past Mr. Mu and went over.

"Get out! Get out now," the man’s voice was strained. The veins on his hands, which were clenched around the sheet, began to bulge.

SNAP... The rope on the man’s hands broke. He whipped around, his eyes crimson, and raised a hand to choke Gu Jiaojiao’s slender neck.

However—

Gu Jiaojiao deftly sidestepped his attack, grabbed his wrist, and forcefully pinned him back onto the bed.

Looking at the woman pinning him down with her knee, Mu Ziquan’s thin lips pressed into a dangerous line.

A murderous aura involuntarily clouded his gloomy features. "You have a death wish... Get... off..."

When his episodes reached their peak, he lost all reason, wanting to smash anything he saw and choke anyone he met.

The episodes came without warning. The slightest dissatisfaction would cause him to unleash his fury on his surroundings.

He would loudly berate others, mercilessly expressing his anger toward the target regardless of the situation.

His furious expression was enough to make one tremble, scaring his family members half to death.

When the pain became extreme, he would have moments of clarity, but he would still unconsciously harm others.

Already half-paralyzed and now suffering from what felt like rabies, Mu Ziquan no longer wanted anyone to see this wretched side of him.

And he definitely didn’t want anyone else to get hurt because of this inhuman state he was in.

"You’ve been poisoned by someone. Once the poison is neutralized, you won’t have these frenzies," Gu Jiaojiao said.

She quickly inserted a silver needle from her hand into the man’s temple. It was unclear if it was the effect of the needle...

...or the fresh scent from the woman that soothed him, but Mu Ziquan’s crimson eyes slowly began to calm.

He stared intently at the girl kneeling beside him. Her fingers still held countless gleaming silver needles.

Her expression was serious, her gaze focused—completely different from the fawning girls who had previously tried to curry favor with him.

He said nothing, just glared at her with a cold, irritable aura and an air of arrogant superiority.

One, two, three, countless needles...

After placing needles in all the appropriate acupoints, Gu Jiaojiao finally stood up and patted his shoulder.

She said softly to Mu Ziquan, "Get a good night’s sleep. You’ll be fine when you wake up."

The girl’s voice was very gentle, and the restless elements within Mu Ziquan gradually stabilized.

His eyelids grew heavier and heavier. He struggled to get one last look at the girl, but ultimately failed and fell into a deep sleep.

When Old Sir Han and Mr. Xiao came in, they saw Gu Jiaojiao performing acupuncture.

They knew full well that Gu Jiaojiao was saving him, but standing there watching Mu Ziquan get turned into a human pincushion still made their skin crawl. The pressure was immense.

That kind of psychological stress couldn’t be easily dismissed just by knowing that Gu Jiaojiao was saving a life.

From time to time, Gu Jiaojiao would twist or flick the ends of the needles—all of which were special acupuncture techniques.

They required extremely precise strength and control, and were mentally exhausting.

If Gu Jiaojiao hadn’t drunk the spiritual spring water, she wouldn’t have been able to perform so well. The old gentlemen didn’t understand what she was doing, but they thought she was incredible.

During a break, Gu Jiaojiao finally had time to tell everyone, "Based on the patient’s symptoms, it should be mania from bipolar disorder."

"Jiaojiao, my grandson isn’t married, nor is he even dating anyone. It can’t possibly be an ’emotional’ disorder," Mr. Mu said anxiously.

"The ’affective’ part of the disorder doesn’t necessarily refer to a wife or partner; it can also relate to family. Of course, a blood test is needed to determine the specifics.

If it were purely mania, it would be easy to treat, mainly with antipsychotics combined with mood stabilizers.

The first choice would be antipsychotics with strong sedative effects, like olanzapine or risperidone, and the mood stabilizer would typically be lithium carbonate..."

Mr. Mu: ...He didn’t quite understand, so he didn’t know what to say.

Gu Jiaojiao spoke for a short while before she had to concentrate on twisting and flicking the needles again, so she didn’t have much time to talk.

The two young men in charge of watching Mu Ziquan breathed a huge sigh of relief when they saw their young master fall asleep so quickly.

They looked at Gu Jiaojiao with even greater admiration, just short of getting on their knees to thank her.

Gu Jiaojiao told them to take off Mu Ziquan’s pants; she wanted to examine his legs.

Mu Ziquan’s legs were in worse shape than Su Shuochi’s. They were mainly emaciated, with no muscle, likely due to a longer period of paralysis.

Gu Jiaojiao wasn’t repulsed in the slightest. She even used her long, fair hands to press on his legs, slowly and rhythmically.

She now had a clear picture. Mu Ziquan’s leg bones had been fractured but had since healed. However, two of his tendons had also been severed and not properly reattached.

Furthermore, he was deeply poisoned. There were several types of poison in his system. His frenzies weren’t caused by a bipolar disorder after all.

In the blink of an eye, four and a half hours had passed. Gu Jiaojiao prepared to remove the needles, taking them all out.

Mu Ziquan also shook his head and woke up. He slowly propped himself up and rolled his shoulders.

Aside from a slight soreness all over, he felt no other discomfort. He turned his head.

He looked at Gu Jiaojiao again. He couldn’t believe she had quelled his manic episode with just a few silver needles.

The girl looked very young. A faint smile graced her delicate, fair face, and her bright eyes shimmered with light.

The alluring corners of her eyes tilted up slightly, revealing a bold and confident charm.

’She’s the one Grandfather found for me to marry?’

’If it’s her, I suppose it’s not out of the question.’ Mu Ziquan’s heart trembled fiercely. He said arrogantly, "I can marry you."

The old gentlemen: ...
