Chapter 447: Chapter 477: We Are All Family

Just then, two people hurried over. The one in the lead was Shen Feng. He saw that someone was about to tow the car and quickly said, "It’s all taken care of. I’ll move my car right now."

When the crowd saw him unlock the car with his keys, they exchanged a few more words and dispersed.

From their position a little farther away, however, Qin Jiao and Shen Yi clearly saw the person trailing a few steps behind Shen Feng. Upon seeing Li Xiaomei and Ji Yuehong, this person immediately took two steps back.

Lin Nian.

’She’s out this early?’

But it had nothing to do with them right now. They were still thinking about Grandpa Du at home, so Qin Jiao and Shen Yi immediately returned to their car. Once Shen Feng moved his vehicle, they got in and drove away.

Qin Jiao glanced back through the window and saw Li Xiaomei slap Lin Nian directly across the face. Shen Feng immediately rushed forward to hold his mother back.

’Heh. Now that Lin Nian is back, if she finds out Shen Feng is seeing someone new, who knows what kind of scene she’ll cause.’

’Since Lin Nian has decided that Shen Feng is her destined leading man, she’ll definitely never let him go.’

Su Yun said worriedly, "Xiao Jiao, are you okay?"

"I’m fine. We just ran into Li Xiaomei and Shen Feng."

Su Yun let out a small gasp. She then looked worriedly at Shen Yi, who was driving. She was worried that her son-in-law might get upset; after all, it was Li Xiaomei who had destroyed his family.

’She’d been a little upset for a while that this boy, Xiao Yi, had quietly spirited her daughter away. Now, though, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.’

’Such is the conflicted heart of a mother.’

The group returned to the courtyard house. Shen Yi and Qin Jiao took the two little ones to sort through the New Year’s supplies they had bought. Meanwhile, Su Yun hurried to the kitchen to start cooking. Fortunately, some of the dishes they’d purchased were pre-made. Before long, she had prepared a meal of three dishes and a soup for everyone.

It was still early. Once everything was taken care of, Shen Yi pulled Qin Jiao aside and whispered, "Shall we go see the house?"

"Are you okay now?" Qin Jiao reminded him. "The spring collection designs aren’t finished yet."

"I already have a general idea for the spring collection. I’ll refine it tonight and show you the sketches when they’re done."

Shen Yi already had a foundation in drawing. He had also recently participated in Du Liya’s fashion design work. Plus, he was smart, so this wasn’t difficult for him.

Seeing the young couple whispering to each other, Mr. Du took a sip of tea and asked, "What are you two talking about?"

So, Qin Jiao told him about the house.

They were all family, so there was no need to hide it.

Mr. Du, however, sipped his tea and said, "If he’s giving you the house, just accept it. Xiao Jiao, you should go take a look. Decorate it however you like. That way, when you have classes in the afternoon, you can rest there during your lunch break."

Qin Jiao smiled and nodded. "Alright then, I’ll listen to you, Grandpa."

Watching the two of them leave together, Su Yun, who was clearing the dishes, thought for a moment and then asked, "Mr. Du, did you know that Xiao Yi is having the house registered in Xiao Jiao’s name?"

"I didn’t, but what’s wrong with that? Isn’t that how it should be?"

"...But... but he also told Xiao Jiao to register our household there."

Mr. Du smiled. "Xiao Yun, we’re all one family, so don’t talk like we’re strangers. Your household registration is under a collective account, and that’s not a viable long-term solution. It can easily lead to other complications. It’s a good thing to get it settled now. This will also be very important later on when Xiao Shi starts junior high."

Su Yun nodded gratefully. She couldn’t help but feel that her family was incredibly lucky to have met Grandpa Du and his family.

Meanwhile, the young couple was on their way to the new house.

They were talking about Lin Nian’s early release.
