Chapter 240: [245]: Law of Division
Where the plasma touched the polished black obsidian, the indestructible stone instantly superheated, bubbling and melting into perfectly smooth, glowing craters of liquid glass.
Sebastian pushed his thirty-percent physical synchronization to its absolute limit. His boots blurred against the stone as he zig-zagged wildly, desperately trying to outrun the sweeping beam of death. The heat radiating from the plasma blast was so intense that his [Thermal Immunity] passive actually began to flicker, sending sharp, warning spikes of phantom pain into his brain.
"System! Apply Concept of Decay!" Sebastian roared, sliding hard on his knees to avoid a sweeping blast of plasma that melted the air directly above his helmet.
He thrust his left hand forward, aggressively throwing a massive, highly concentrated burst of raw, corrupted [Error] combined with absolute entropy directly at the hound’s front right leg.
The gray wave of decay hit the dark, gunmetal armor of the beast.
PING!
A tiny, cheerful, and entirely infuriating system chime echoed in his head.
[Attack Negated. Target possesses Absolute Defense Plating.] [Notice: Fundamental structural code cannot be degraded by localized entropy.]
The [Concept of Decay], the absolute law of physics that had turned a Level 86 Earth Deity into a pile of gray sand, completely failed. The gray wave simply washed over the hound’s leg, failing to even tarnish the pristine metal.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me," Sebastian gasped, scrambling to his feet and diving behind a towering, jagged spire of obsidian that had been kicked up from the floor.
The right head of the Cerberus lowered, its red visor locking onto the rock formation Sebastian was hiding behind.
BOOM!
Another massive blast of blue plasma hit the obsidian spire. The rock instantly glowed cherry red before violently exploding into liquid slag. Sebastian threw his arms over his face, his black leather coat smoking as he was thrown backward by the concussive shockwave.
He hit the ground hard, rolling several times before digging his boots in to stop. He panted heavily, his chest heaving. His highly optimized brain was doing the math, and the numbers were entirely terrifying.
"It’s Level 100," Sebastian gritted his teeth, dodging another spatial-rending claw swipe that tore a massive gash into the platform inches from his face. "It’s the hard cap. The Core OS hard-coded the armor. It literally possesses infinite durability."
You couldn’t punch infinite durability. You couldn’t age it. You couldn’t melt it. To the server’s logic engine, Cerberus-00X was an unchangeable environmental asset that also happened to breathe nuclear fire.
The three heads of the massive hound reared back, their jaws unhinging simultaneously. A blinding, terrifying glow began to build deep within their throats. It was charging a massive, localized area-of-effect blast designed to completely glass the entire platform.
Sebastian didn’t have time to run. There was nowhere to run.
"If I can’t break the armor," Sebastian whispered, his silver-tinged eyes locking onto the glowing maws of the beast. "Then I just have to ignore the armor."
He couldn’t use a hammer. He needed a scalpel. He needed a conceptual bypass that completely disregarded the physical integrity of the object it struck.
Sebastian dropped to one knee, completely ignoring the blinding light of the incoming plasma attack. He opened his green, corrupted Administrator UI.
It was time to write a new law of physics.
—-
The ambient temperature of the cavern was skyrocketing. The polished obsidian platform beneath Sebastian’s heavy combat boots was already softening, the edges of the stone turning into glowing, sticky glass from the sheer radiant heat of the charging plasma.
Sebastian knelt behind the half-melted remains of a black stone pillar. His black leather coat was singed and smoking, his chest heaving with deep, ragged breaths.
Above him, the mountain-sized Cerberus-00X reared its three massive, biomechanical heads. The blinding blue light building in their throats was so intense it cast sharp, terrifying shadows across the continent-sized Tartarus Gate behind them. The beast was preparing to completely wipe the entire localized grid.
"System," Sebastian commanded, his voice a tight, metallic hum of pure focus. "Access [Law Synthesis] module."
BING!
The glowing, incredibly complex developer console expanded across his vision, pushing the red proximity warnings into the background. He had to be fast. If he didn’t compile this code in the next three seconds, he was going to be turned into a puddle of vaporized polygons.
He couldn’t rely on raw damage. The beast’s [Absolute Defense Plating] was hard-coded by the Core OS. Infinite durability meant infinite durability.
"I need to cut it," Sebastian whispered, his eyes darting across his massive archive of hoarded skills and concepts. "Not physically. Geometrically."
He found the first parameter. He reached into his memory cache and pulled out the foundational code for [Basic Severance]—a low-tier sword skill that simply applied a minor bleeding debuff by parting skin.
He forcefully dragged the pathetic little skill into the primary slot of the glowing synthesis crucible.
[Input 1: Skill - Basic Severance]
He needed to pair it with something that completely bypassed physical matter. He grabbed the core code of his [Heavenly Steps], the teleportation skill that allowed him to fold space and ignore physical distance. He isolated the pure, unadulterated concept of ’Space’ from the spell.
He dragged it into the second slot.
[Input 2: Conceptual Variable - Space]
"Multiplier," Sebastian snarled, his biological steel muscles coiling tight as he braced for the agonizing neural backlash of writing a new reality.
The 10,000x Nexus Glitch violently woke up. It grabbed the simple concept of a sword cut and the concept of spatial geometry, and aggressively shoved them through ten thousand simulated lifetimes of evolution. The crucible spun, glowing with a terrifying, absolute white light.
[Initiate Synthesis?] [Cost: 5,000,000 Units of Raw Source Code.] [Warning: This process permanently burns foundational data. Extreme physical and neurological strain imminent. Proceed?]
"Fucking do it!" Sebastian roared.
He hit "Fuse."
BZZZZT!
The pain was absolute, blinding, and catastrophic. Sebastian’s back violently arched, his head thrown back as the raw, uncompiled energy of five million harvested souls was burned like gasoline to forge the new law.
