Chapter 191
An hour before Andrew approached Kaine, he was deep in thought.
‘Hmm, something feels off.’
Indeed, from the Emperor’s reaction to asking everyone except the Saintesses and Kaine’s handmaids to leave, everything seemed out of place. Andrew glanced around, noticing that the nobles were returning to their assigned rooms.
‘They’re all heading back to their rooms.’
As expected, the nobles were following the Emperor’s instructions. Andrew, who had been contemplating in front of the audience chamber, was approached by Eileen.
“What are you doing here?” Eileen asked, her expressionless face drawing closer.
Andrew, a local noble, smiled warmly and replied, “Oh, I was just thinking. My apologies.”
“In that case, it would be best for you to return to your room as well. If you stay here, you might not like what happens next,” Eileen said, and then she disappeared from sight with Skaya and Jenny.
Andrew narrowed his eyes at the sight of them.
‘Hmm… Impressive.’
Despite her youth, Eileen’s skills were exceptional. It was certain that even the branch leaders of the Cult wouldn’t stand a chance against her.
‘… I really want to kill her right now.’
However, if he acted rashly, he might face consequences. After all, the Saintesses were here.
Even setting that aside, if he were to use his powers recklessly…
‘I might lose my mind to the Grand Duke.’
Therefore, it was best to gather information today, as he was not fully prepared. Andrew sighed, his eyes lingering on the audience chamber door.
‘… I can talk to Kaine later.’
With that thought, Andrew followed the other nobles to his assigned room.
.
.
.
An hour later, Andrew arrived at Kaine’s room and knocked on the door.
-Knock knock.
The door opened to reveal a man with a handsome face, a well-proportioned body, and a muscular build.
“Yes, who is it?”
“Yes, I wanted to have a conversation with you, so I came to visit.”
At Kaine’s question, Andrew smiled warmly. Kaine narrowed his eyes and scrutinized Andrew.
‘What’s this guy doing here?’
Andrew’s official identity was that of a local noble. So, it wasn’t unusual for him to be here.
‘Normally, he wouldn’t be moving at all.’
Due to his possession by the Grand Duke, Andrew should have been lying low. Yet, here he was, standing before Kaine.
Kaine pretended to ponder for a moment before opening his mouth to speak, but just then—
“Kaine-nim, is something the matter?”
Ange cautiously approached and poked her head out. Andrew’s pupils dilated slightly at the sight of her.
“Saintess…?”
“Hmm? Who are you?”
At Andrew’s question, Ange tilted her head in confusion.
Andrew smiled warmly and introduced himself, “Oh, forgive me. I’m Kilmer von Eiga, a local noble. I came here because I wanted to have a conversation with you, Kaine-nim.”
“Hmm. I see. Kaine-nim, what do you think?”
“Hmm… Let’s have a conversation.”
Kaine invited Andrew into the room.

“Do you have any tea you like?”
“Yes, I’d appreciate some black tea.”
“Sure, just a moment.”
Kaine took out black tea and a warm cup from his Space ring. As he did so, he fell into deep thought.
‘What’s his purpose?’
Based on Andrew’s reaction, he didn’t seem to be here to kill Kaine. If that were the case, he wouldn’t have approached so openly, but rather would have done it quietly.
‘I don’t know his purpose, but…’
Kaine felt the need to gather as much information as possible.
Before he knew it, the black tea was ready. Kaine handed the steaming cup to Andrew.
“Here you go.”
“Ah! Thank you.”
Andrew smiled so sincerely that one might believe he was a pure-hearted boy.
‘His acting skills are exceptional.’
It seemed that being the leader of a group required exceptional acting skills.
As Kaine thought this, Andrew took a sip of the tea and his eyes widened in surprise.
‘He’s probably just acting, but…’
Kaine asked Andrew, who was still in awe, “Eiga-nim, what did you want to talk to me about? Are you dissatisfied with me becoming a duke?”
“No, it’s not that. After hearing about the war, it’s clear that the David family deserves the title of duke. They were already influential even before the war.”
“Then, why…?”
Kaine asked with a puzzled expression, and Andrew responded with a question of his own.
“Before that, what’s your relationship with the Saintess? Oh, if it’s difficult to answer, you don’t have to.”
Despite his words, Andrew’s eyes were filled with curiosity. As Kaine was about to respond, Ange beat him to it.
“Yes, I’m in a relationship with Kaine-nim!”
Ange’s face turned as red as a tomato as she exclaimed this. Then, she grabbed her cheeks and shook her head.
‘Why is she so embarrassed after saying that herself?’
Kaine was momentarily taken aback, but Andrew nodded in understanding.
‘As I thought.’
Something had felt off to Andrew from the start.
Ange had been busy in the royal capital due to the Cult, as Jade had mentioned. Yet, despite her busy life, she had gone to help the David territory?
‘If she’s in a relationship with Kaine, everything makes sense.’
Otherwise, it wouldn’t add up.
Andrew spoke up, “I see. Now I understand why the Saintess joined the war against the Cult. It’s only natural to help when your lover is in a dangerous situation.”
“Hmm. Well, let’s leave that topic aside. Is that why you came here?”
Kaine cleared his throat and narrowed his eyes. Andrew, with a relaxed expression, took a sip of his black tea and replied, “Yes, that’s just my personal curiosity. I wanted to ask about the magic gun you created with a certain blacksmith.”
“…”
Hmm, so he’s here because of the magic gun.
Although it’s known that the Saintess joined the war, it’s still unbelievable that there were almost no casualties.
‘This could create complications.’
Kaine narrowed his eyes suspiciously as he took a sip of coffee.
“Hmm, I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you about that…”
“Of course, I’m not asking for the information for free. I’m willing to pay in money or goods, and I’ll pay in advance.”
Andrew was willing to do anything to get information about the magic gun.
“I’m sorry, but regardless of that, I can’t tell you. I signed a contract with the blacksmith who made the magic gun, and I can’t disclose any information about it. Even if you go to the blacksmith, they won’t tell you.”
“I see.”
Andrew nodded, deep in thought. He finished his black tea and carefully stood up, as if he had finished his business.
“In that case, I can’t help it. The black tea was delicious.”
“Yes, is there anything else?”
Andrew turned around, puzzled, as he was about to leave the room.
“Well, is there a reason you came here? As far as I know, not all nobles were required to attend.”
“…”
A subtle tension filled the air between the two. Andrew smiled faintly.
“Well, I had a reason. The Emperor sent a letter, so I had to come.”
So, he’s making up an excuse?
Just as Kaine thought this, Andrew, on his way out, said, “Oh, and be careful at tomorrow’s banquet.”
An unexpected statement.
‘Be careful?’
If Kaine hadn’t turned up the volume when Andrew entered, he wouldn’t have heard those words.
As Kaine pondered Andrew’s words, Ange whispered in a seductive voice, “So, it’s just the two of us now, Kaine-nim?”
“Ah…”
Ange had moved so close that Kaine could feel her breath on his skin. For now, it seemed best to deal with the matter at hand.
.
.
.
After spending some time with Ange, about 30 minutes had passed.
Kaine, now alone in the room, lay on the bed, deep in thought.
‘Be careful…’
Kaine suspected that Andrew might be planning to kill him. Otherwise, there was no reason for Andrew to say something like that.
‘Is it because of the magic gun…?’
From Andrew’s perspective, the magic gun was probably quite bothersome.
After all, not being able to obtain information or use it would naturally make anyone uneasy.
‘If he can’t use it, he probably wants to ensure no one else can make it either.’
In other words, Andrew was targeting not only Kaine but also Gazel.
‘For the time being, I should hide Gazel in the family mansion.’
With that, the issue with Gazel was more or less resolved. Now, the most important thing was Kaine himself.
‘Hmm, what should I do about myself?’
To be honest, Kaine wanted to capture Andrew right now. However, if he wasn’t careful…
‘The Grand Duke might possess Andrew’s body.’
And this time, it would be a complete manifestation, unlike with the Goddess.
Therefore, Kaine couldn’t afford to push Andrew too hard.
‘… For now, I’ll pass on killing him by force.’
Kaine would need to think of another way. As he pondered, there was a knock on the door.
-Knock knock.
“Kaine, can I come in?”
The Goddess, true to her nature, made a sudden appearance.
“Yeah, come in.”
As soon as Kaine said this, the Goddess burst into the room.
“Hmm…? Who was here?”
At the same time, she noticed the traces of tea in the room and tilted her head in confusion.
“Oh, a guest and Ange-nim were here. It’s just like the Goddess to make a sudden appearance.”
“Tsk. I thought I’d be the first one here.”
The Goddess clicked her tongue, disappointed that another woman had beaten her to Kaine.
Kaine wanted to say that she was being incredibly shameless, but he kept it to himself.
Saying it wouldn’t lead to anything good.
“If you wanted to come so quickly, you could have just come straight here.”
“Well, I wanted to, but there were so many annoying guys. I took care of them and came here.”
Kaine stared at the Saintess blankly, feeling a chill.
“Hey… Did you kill them or something?”
“Huh? What are you talking about? I just knocked them out and interfered with their minds so they wouldn’t remember.”
Apparently, she wasn’t as reckless as Kaine had thought.
Hearing this, Kaine let out a sigh of relief.
“Phew… Just a moment. What about the others? Did other men bother them too?”
“Huh? No, don’t worry. Who would dare bother the Saintess, a viscount’s daughter, and a duke’s daughter? Lise is also talking to them, so no one is bothering them. And Ange came here quickly because no one was approaching her.”
“I see.”
At that moment, the Goddess suddenly looked around.
“In other words, I’m the only one here.”
She moved closer to Kaine.
Kaine stared at her blankly, and then an idea flashed through his mind.
‘Wait, if I do this, I might be able to solve my problem too.’
With that thought, Kaine quickly embraced the Goddess, who was walking towards him.
“Wha… Kaine?! Wh, what are you doing? Suddenly!”
The Goddess blushed and jumped in surprise, not expecting Kaine to embrace her.
Kaine gently stroked her head and whispered quietly, “I think we need to disguise you as Andrew again, Origin.”
