Chapter 3: Problematic Students
After spending nearly an hour just sitting there staring at the folder with my supposed students, I decide to open it. Obviously, there’s no point in just stalling.
"Let’s see..." Inside the folder are seven sheets — one with basic explanations of my duties, and the others each containing basic information on my students.
"Well, well... my duty is to teach classes, handle the problems they cause... manage... their emotions? Do they think I’m some kind of psychologist!? I already have my own problems without having to deal with other people’s." I feel frustrated by all these responsibilities.
"I’ll leave that for later... the first one..." I pick up the first sheet to check the data on it.
----------------------------------------
Name = Rouge Lupina Scarlet
Race = Mutated Human
Title = Night Huntress
A young girl, with a strong yet lean build, long black hair, and deep red eyes. She has wolf ears and a black wolf tail, large breasts, and a mature physique. She usually wears casual clothes, with a high preference for red and black — especially red in her clothing. Due to her mutation, she possesses great physical abilities and heightened superhuman instincts.
Personality = Cold, Patient, Bold, Stubborn, Mocking
Weight = 74 kg
Age = 19 years old
Birthday = December 23
Height = 177 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Night Hunt [Allows the user to manipulate all axes connected to air, wind, and atmosphere — primarily powers tied to wind manipulation, which grow stronger based on open settings, forests, mountains, and during natural windstorms.
Capable of shaping the entire airflow around her, although the reach of most abilities is only 100–200 meters from the central point, which is the user’s body.]
----------------------------------------
"Hmm, okay... based on the personality data... a disobedient dog, how wonderful..." The powers we have aren’t magic or anything like that — they’re just vector manipulation.
So seeing a vector tied to controlling airflow and the atmosphere is interesting in a way, since every power depends on technology being capable of controlling the vectors that govern a given force of the universe.
"A mutation..." The cores and chips can cause mutations in people’s bodies, usually mutations that make it easier to use their powers, though sometimes the mutation is more of a disadvantage.
"Well, the first one isn’t so bad, and her power is inferior to mine. In combat, I can incapacitate her without too much risk to my life... and even though her physical attributes are probably better than mine, she’d lose to my prosthetics." I pick up the next paper, evaluating them not as students but as enemies who could take my life if I slip up.
----------------------------------------
Name = Eirwen Noelle Blanc
Race = Human
Title = Princess of Snow
A young woman with long white hair and dark blue eyes, her pupils shaped like ice roses. She tends to keep her eyes always closed, with medium-sized breasts and a physique closer to average, yet with a clear beauty.
She usually wears white clothes and is obedient to rules most of the time, though she is cold, and when she decides to disobey orders, she ends up causing problems. She carries a more serene and calm "aura," but remains distant from everyone.
Personality = Obedient (Most of the Time), Cold, Calculating, Fearless, Kind (To Civilians and Only Civilians)
Weight = 65 kg
Age = 19 years old
Birthday = September 12
Height = 170 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Yuki-Mono Banshee (Also called Winter Haunting, allows the user to control the temperature of the environment, the shape of snow and ice, and to generate cold from her own body. It has limited range, but the range grows as the climate is cooled by the user’s own body.
Able to go from a small frozen point of one meter to an artificial winter capable of covering an entire city. In the second phase, it allows free control of the snow generated by manipulating the vectors that result in [Snow], creating an artificially cold climate that can reach -159° Recorded.)
(Addendum: Caused the death of over 10,000 civilians after losing control of her powers. Due to having faulty control over her power and disobeying orders she shouldn’t have, she requires proper teaching. Questions about the deaths should be avoided to prevent issues with disobedience.)
----------------------------------------
"Tsk, I see... a person with so little control over her powers... and it’s still a power capable of affecting a city... a troublesome climate-based power, but this girl seems to need to generate snow first before she gains real strength." My metallic tail moves in a dragging motion.
The shape of my tail is like thick, large vertebrae connected together, tapering just slightly toward the tip, so it’s a bulky tail, naturally heavy. That’s why the sound of friction against the seat and its groaning under the weight nearly pulls my focus away.
"So if I finish her off in the first 10 seconds of a fight, I’ll have no problems... but if she’s already spread cold across a massive area, I don’t know if I’d win..." The first one I could handle well, but this second one is already dangerous.
"Well... at least her personality isn’t complete garbage. If she’s obedient most of the time, we just need to make her even more obedient..." From what I gather, it seems she’s not bad — she just doesn’t know how to control herself well enough, becoming a risk to the civilians she should be defending.
"I hope the next one is a bit better..." I move on to the next file, hoping for a less troublesome girl.
----------------------------------------
Name = Tanya Locksley
Race = Human
Title = Radiant Star
A blonde girl, with long hair falling to knee height, usually styled in braids to reduce the length. She has blood-red eyes and a confident, cheerful smile.
However, she has an extremely rebellious and disobedient personality, never following rules. She has the smallest physique among the six, with small breasts, short stature, and a cuter appearance. Despite that, she likes wearing only black clothes to make her hair stand out.
Personality = Rebellious, Disobedient, Hates Authority Figures, Cheerful, Arrogant
Weight = 57 kg
Age = 20 years old
Birthday = ?
Height = 160 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Most Radiant Star (Allows the user to manipulate any solar wavelength through vectors. It has considerable dependence on wavelengths, solar radiation, light sources, gamma rays, nuclear emissions, X-rays, ultraviolet, (EUV), ionization of the Earth’s atmosphere, tanning, sunburns, visible light, infrared (IR), microwave heat, weak thermal emissions, radio waves — being an extremely technical ability that is difficult to control, but one of the most destructive of the current generation ever recorded.)
----------------------------------------
"...JUST WONDERFUL... exactly what I needed, a literal atomic bomb who also hates authority figures... this one is without a doubt going to be hell to deal with. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tries to take my life..." I crumple the paper in disgust and grab a lollipop from my lab coat, popping it into my mouth.
This girl is dangerous, undoubtedly an absurd talent of this generation. So many controls are tied to her vector power that facing her is hell, no question. She’s practically a real atomic bomb — though the physical cost is probably high.
"Still, it’s possible to win. It all depends on her ability to move past things and push forward... with my power, I can easily block, defend, and nullify most of the attacks she could make..." I take a deep breath, trying to stay calm. If I show weakness, these girls will devour me whole, metaphorically speaking.
"Next... I think there’s no point hoping for someone with a stable personality anymore. I bet more infernally irritating girls are coming."
----------------------------------------
Name = Edith
Race = Human Cyborg
Title = Poisonous Flower
She is a rebellious and problematic adult, with long dark purple hair and deep black eyes with a lifeless tone, large breasts, and a seductive appearance. She is the most problematic student.
Extremely misandrist, with a horrifying hatred for men. A very frustrating lesbian to deal with, she hates authority figures and usually plays sweet with girls to attract them romantically.
(Extra = Has trauma from laboratory experiments she suffered in childhood. Avoid the subject; it is actively linked to her misandry.)
Personality = Misandrist, Proud, Fake, Manipulative, Kind (Until you discover her real personality or reject her romantic advances).
Weight = 69 kg
Age = 23 years old
Birthday = ?
Height = 174 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Sweet Death (Allows the user to manipulate vectors totally linked to poisons. Due to the limitation of ingredients needed to form poison, the user must always carry chemical ingredients, toxic plant materials, or harmful biological components.
However, if she has materials, she can generate poisonous explosions, toxic clouds, toxin rains, and even harmoniously combine poisons with other poisons to create incurable venoms. The effect and strength of the poison depends 100% on the material used in its creation through the manipulation of its vectors.)
----------------------------------------
"Right... a misandrist with poison powers... well... Nadir would have problems with her, but since I’m a girl, it should be easy to deal with at first... and since she depends on previously obtained materials, stopping her is extremely easy..." It’s not that bad, though unfortunately for this girl, I’m not a lesbian. I’m probably not straight either — after all, Nadir is the only one for me, unfortunately for the wrong reasons.
At least this girl is easily the weakest among the ones who’ve appeared so far. Sure, her power is strong and dangerous, but as long as I don’t give her openings to use it, I can easily finish her off.
"Only two left... just two more and this irritating list is over..." I bite down on the lollipop, cracking it as I hear its sweet snap, and set the stick aside to throw in the trash later.
----------------------------------------
Name = Charlotte
Race = Mutated Human
Title = Frightening Doll
A woman with short white hair, one golden eye and the other a deep dark brown. She has large breasts and a gentle figure paired with a personality that initially seems calm. She likes wearing pastel-toned clothes.
She has a horrible addiction to sweets and a mild problem with recreational drugs that is being worked on. She has a long cat tail and fluffy cat ears, with mild and controllable feline instincts.
Personality = Kind, Loving, Friendly, Extremely Manipulative, Extremely Fake. (Extra: has serious issues regarding trust and teamwork.)
(Addendum: Accidentally caused the death of 3 team partners. A sensitive subject to be worked on.)
Weight = 0 kg
Age = 18 years old
Birthday = April 28
Height = 168 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Spatial Catastrophe (Allows the user to manipulate space locally within a 30-meter area, with the sole purpose of generating complex fissures used to teleport by creating portals or to tear apart any being within the area of effect.
Any being within 30 meters is in the effect range, and the fissures are complex vector faults. The longest recorded duration was a 4-day fault. Created faults are dangerous to touch, and one must stay away from them.)
(Important Addendum: Portals and fissures look exactly the same, so it is recommended never to enter supposed portals if Charlotte doesn’t enter first. If she refuses to enter the portal, suspect it’s a trap. She has serious self-control issues when contradicted or when she feels humiliated, sometimes hurting allies due to severe personality problems that are being worked on.
She has been sent to rehabilitation a few times for purposely injuring team partners she didn’t like or who persistently disagreed with what she proposed on missions.)
----------------------------------------
"...Damn... there had to be someone with spatial powers... and of course, someone with a completely horrible personality..." This girl is, so far, the one who could most easily take my life.
If I were within her power’s area of effect, it would be enough for me to die without being able to react much. But if I stay outside the area of effect, winning is easy.
"This is the first one among them whose description actively makes it clear she would try to kill people..." They’re all young, but much of it is more fallacy than reality. Many of them wouldn’t have the courage to actually kill, and would kill people more by accident.
But not this one — this girl with spatial powers kills people by choice. I know this type of person. I deeply distrust these "Accidental Deaths," considering the warning not to trust her portals.
"30 meters... it’s a small range, but it depends on how fast she can create and enter the portals... besides, her weight... is 0, so it seems her own body is affected by spatial vectors... she must be very fast." I’ll be very attentive.
"Let’s see the last one..."
----------------------------------------
Name = Ashlyn Camille Voss
Race = Human
Title = Nightmare
She is an extremely problematic young woman, with a gothic style of dress, long black hair, black eyes, always with dark circles from never being able to sleep, large breasts, and a lean physique.
She’s somewhat pale and gives off a visually disturbing presence because of her power. It’s recommended never to sleep near her. She has a horrible history of pulling dangerous "pranks."
Personality = Quiet, Silent, Socially Flawed, Intelligent, Chaotic
Weight = 69 kg
Age = 20 years old
Birthday = ?
Height = 172 centimeters
Equipment = Vector Axis Core
Vector Ability = Nightmare (Allows the user to manipulate the minds of unconscious or sleeping targets, granting her access to their minds. The access is partial and does not allow her to see memories, but allows full control over dreams by creating the [Realm of Nightmares], where she can generate torture until destroying the target’s mind.
Physically, the power is weaker. In a waking state, the user can create [Shadows] — nightmares that manifest in reality. They are not very strong, but can be generated in masses, creating visually disturbing amalgamations. However, the drawback is that the user of this ability never manages to sleep, staying awake 24 hours a day.)
(Addendum: Drugs, abilities, and even equipment have been used to try to make her sleep, and although anesthetics and abilities can stop her body, she remains awake and conscious even with dangerous doses. The most that can happen is her closing her eyes and pretending to have passed out until she can move again, but she is never truly unconscious.)
----------------------------------------
"Huh... this one seems a bit calmer... her power is also quite interesting, but I could easily beat her... that’s good. Only three of them are real and dangerous risks to my life... in theory, of course — since I haven’t actually seen them to judge..." Less than I expected, given that they’re talents of this generation. Obviously all of them could kill me if I slip up, but I’m not the type to make mistakes.
"Nightmares... vectors aren’t magic; they don’t create things out of nothing... so if she manifests nightmares in reality, it’s probably more like a forced mirage — she forces people to see something unreal and messes with perception and physics." I analyze her power based on what I have from the description.
"Making the illusory image have mass, impact, speed, location, and a few other vectors tied to matter..." A curious power indeed.
"Looks like that’s it... these are my students..." I think about my own powers and Nadir’s powers — the powers I’ll now have to use cautiously and skillfully to survive as the tutor of these six little monsters.
