Chapter 116: Power Unbound

The force was massive.

The moment Lian completed the downward swing, an invisible wave of power exploded outward from the black blade. It wasn’t a visible black slash like Zephyr Kane’s — it was something deeper, something that bypassed sight and struck reality itself. The air warped violently. The ground beneath his feet cracked and heaved. A deafening thunderous roar filled the entire hidden chamber, shaking the walls and ceiling as if the planet itself was protesting.

Lian couldn’t see anything.

The pressure slammed into him like a tidal wave, pushing him backward with brutal force. Dust and debris filled the air instantly, turning the chamber into a blinding storm. He covered his eyes with one arm, stumbling and then running as fast as he could away from the epicenter. Rocks and fragments of the ceiling rained down around him. The ground continued to shake violently, aftershocks rippling through the cave system.

Elara had already retreated further away when she sensed the building energy. She crouched behind a large rock formation, covering her ears and eyes as the shockwave hit. Lian reached her position moments later, dropping down beside her and doing the same. They both huddled low, bodies tense, as the cave continued to tremble and roar.

The sound was overwhelming — a continuous thunder that vibrated through their bones. Dust choked the air. Small stones pelted their backs and heads. The entire underground chamber felt like it was on the verge of collapsing.

They stayed crouched for a full minute, covering their ears and eyes, waiting for the chaos to subside.

Finally, the thunderous roaring faded. The ground stopped shaking. The cave grew quiet once more, save for the distant roar of the waterfall and the occasional shifting of loose debris.

Lian slowly lifted his head, peeking around the corner of the rock. Elara did the same beside him.

They both gasped.

The view before them was terrifying.

The entire section of the cave that had been hiding the buried parts of the spaceship was gone — completely destroyed. Massive chunks of the ceiling and walls had collapsed, revealing the full structure of the ancient vessel. The spaceship stood exposed now, towering and imposing, its dark hull gleaming under the soft glow of the remaining Qi stones. Dust still hung thick in the air, but the scale of what Lian had unleashed was undeniable. A huge swath of the cavern had been obliterated in a single swing.

Lian stared at the destruction, his blue void eyes wide with a mixture of shock and dark satisfaction. This was power. This was what it meant to be strong. He had copied — even if imperfectly — the move Zephyr Kane had used before disappearing. A single swing that could reshape the world around him. The realization sent a cold thrill through his body. He wasn’t there yet, but he was closer than before.

Elara stood beside him, equally stunned. She looked at the massive damage he had created with just one swing of the blade. The cave that had concealed the spaceship was now a ruin, the full vessel visible for the first time. It was quite massive — not as enormous as the colossal ship that had come to retrieve the Eternal Veil Syndicate representative, but still large enough to dwarf everything else in the chamber. Its dark hull stretched high into the broken ceiling, angular and imposing, with faint glowing runes visible along its surface.

Lian’s gaze moved to the exact spot on the spaceship’s hull where he had aimed his slash.

Not even a single scratch.

The metal remained perfectly smooth and untouched. This spaceship was on a completely different level — far beyond anything they had encountered before. The small section he had targeted was just a tiny part of the whole vessel, yet his full-powered swing had left no mark.

His eyes then found the entrance.

A large, sealed hatch was now visible on the side of the exposed hull, partially uncovered by the destruction. Lian’s expression shifted to one of pure, cold joy. This was it. A real, functional battle spaceship buried here for who knew how long. He could only imagine what treasures, technology, and power lay inside.

But first, he needed to replenish his Qi.

The swing had drained him heavily. His body felt empty, his meridians strained, and the black liquid inside him lay dormant once more. He would need time to recover before attempting to open or explore the vessel.
