Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Hungry

Chapter 15 - Hungry

Ashael was bathing alone in the bathtub. After preparing the bath, he had sent the maid away.

His thoughts drifted back to his conversation with the maid whose name was Susan. He had just given her a task for which he might need her assistance.

Now that Ashael had awakened successfully, he needed to continue with the next phase, and that was exploiting the system to the fullest. I mean, survive the game obviously.

The way to do that was to become stronger than anyone else, and what’s the best way to achieve that? Combat.

’So, I should go and clear some rifts. In fact, I know a specific rift where I can earn system points like EXP farming.’

’With my clone trait, I can probably clear multiple rifts at once and also do the work I have to do outside the Empire.’

’I have to start preparing to complete the first main quest, and there will be a lot of bloodshed.’

Ashael got out of the bathtub and reached for his bathrobe, only to realize it wasn’t there.

His eyebrow twitched with irritation, not because the maids had forgotten to hang it there, but because he had dismissed them before they could put it there.

So, Ashael walked to his room naked, water dripping from his pristine, beautiful body.

While walking, white flames appeared around his body.

They dried his body in an instant.

Ashael took out some clothes from the closet, a T-shirt and pajamas, and wore them.

As he turned around and walked toward the door, Ashael muttered,

"Instant Movement."

Ashael disappeared from his room without a single sound or spatial fluctuation.

Even the runes on the walls of the chamber, which were used to prevent spatial-related activities, didn’t sense anything.

It was as if Ashael had simply glitched out of existence.

The next moment, he appeared in front of the royal dining hall doors.

The guards standing there were shocked but didn’t say anything except bow their heads.

Ashael entered the dining hall, which was empty except for some maids working there preparing food for him.

He took his seat where he usually sat during family dinners and started eating the food with the same royal etiquette drilled into him since he could walk.

Ashael took his time eating because, for him, it had been months since he last ate food, and after his rebirth, his appetite had also increased.

He had also been getting a strange feeling to eat sweet food for some reason.

But as far as he knew, Ashael had liked spicy food in both his lives.

Where was this feeling coming from?

A part of him wanted to eat sweets.

So, he ordered the maids to bring some.

Ashael could have asked Su-chan, but as always, he got no answer.

Instead, he focused on enjoying the food.

Unlike how he behaved most of the time, Ashael had always liked eating good food.

Since he would also be leaving the castle soon, he might as well eat to his heart’s content.

After half an hour of enjoying dinner, Ashael stood up and left the hall.

Only after he left did the maids sigh.

Not because they were uneasy in his presence, but because of how much Ashael had devoured.

One-fourth of the table was filled with empty dishes.

They were shocked at how a ten-year-old could eat enough food for multiple adults.

And even then, he had still looked hungry for some reason.

Ashael walked out of the dining hall, seemingly lost in thought.

Soon enough, he was walking through the royal garden.

And as he was walking, he suddenly felt a presence in front of him.

Most of the servants should have been sleeping in the servant quarters, while the guards were on patrol duty.

Ashael looked toward where he felt the presence.

The moment he saw who it was, his eyes widened.

’What is she doing here?’

Ashael wanted to turn around and walk the other way, but he knew she had already sensed him.

And now, if he didn’t go and greet her, she would give him an earful.

So, he calmly walked toward her.

The woman sitting ahead of him had the same white hair as him and his previous white eyes.

Ashael reached her and looked at her, but the woman was still looking ahead, admiring the beautiful garden.

Seeing her say nothing, Ashael sat beside her on the bench.

Both of them looked ahead, sitting silently.

Ashael knew that she wanted him to initiate the conversation.

So, after several moments of silence, Ashael couldn’t tolerate the awkward scene anymore.

He called out to her.

"Hello, Grandma."
