"You don’t actually expect me to go there and fight them all on my own, do you?" Venia chuckled mockingly, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Liang shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, you know what needs to be done."

A coldness flickered in Venia’s eyes. "It seems like you never intended to help me in the first place, were you?"

Liang’s expression remained unchanged. "I’ve already provided you with the location. That’s the best help I can offer."

"Hmph, it appears you haven’t been entirely honest with me from the start," Venia retorted, her voice laced with disdain.

"You don’t seriously expect me to fight alongside you, do you? My strength is barely comparable to a mid-stage seventh order realm," Liang said, shaking his head.

Venia sneered, her elemental energy swirling around her, taking the form of two deadly spears. With a wave of her hand, she launched the spears towards Liang with unprecedented speed.

The force behind the spears could easily injure or even kill a mid seventh order realm expert, putting the innocent people behind them at risk.

"Too powerful," gasped one expert, his face draining of color as he swiftly veered to the side. The others scattered in various directions, each summoning their utmost defensive capabilities to shield themselves from the impending danger.

"Crazy woman!" Liang cursed inwardly, the chaos rune on his forehead igniting.

Before him, the Abyssal Armament Rune, Absolute Ice Rune, and Nether Flame Rune took shape, their spectral forms quivering with boundless energy.

"Absolute Nether Armament Array." With these words, the runes danced into a new configuration, forging a potent array. From its core, a primal roar thundered, heralding the arrival of a titanic metallic dragon. Its gaze burned with an intense crimson light, and its wings—one a deep shade of scarlet, the other a profound blue.

With incredible speed, the dragon’s metallic arms shot forward, each armed with razor-sharp talons. As the elemental spears hurtled towards it, the dragon’s claws closed in, trying to intercept and nullify the attack.

The air crackled with raw energy as the dragon’s grip tightened around the spears. The elemental weapons trembled against the dragon’s unyielding force, desperately attempting to break free. But the dragon held its ground, its grip unyielding.

"Not bad," Venia chuckled, a wicked grin spreading across her face. Two more spears materialized behind her, and with another wave of her hand, she launched them at Liang with even greater force and velocity.

"Not good!" Liang’s eyes narrowed, his demeanor turning cold. The primal sword and the voidwing sword materialized in his hands, each pulsating with power.

Venia’s second wave of spears flew towards Liang, their speed and force increasing exponentially.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Liang swung both weapons in a synchronized motion. The primal sword created a barrier of pure chaos energy, while the voidwing sword created a rippling void that sought to nullify any attacks.

The spears collided with the chaos barrier, creating a deafening explosion. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air, causing cracks to form on the ground beneath them. The voidwing sword’s rippling void flared up, devouring the energy of the spears and leaving them disintegrated in its wake.

Venia’s eyes widened in surprise, her powerful attack effortlessly neutralized by her opponent. The sight left her momentarily stunned.

Slowly, a small smile curved on her lips, mixed with a hint of admiration."I must say, I underestimated you. You do have some impressive tricks up your sleeve,"

"Enough, fellow cultivators! The city is no battleground."

However, before the tension between the two cultivators could escalate any further, a booming voice reverberated throughout the city, cutting through the air with authority. Startled, both Venia and Liang turned their heads toward the source of the sound.

Four figures, dressed in immaculate white robes, materialized between them, forming a protective barrier. At the front stood a middle-aged man with golden flowing hair that cascaded down his shoulders, accompanied by an orange beard that framed his face.

The aura emanating from the man was palpable, a tangible representation of his immense power. It was apparent to all that he was a Late Stage Void Transformation Realm expert.

Whispers of awe and reverence swept through the crowd as they recognized the figure before them.

The city lord, responsible for upholding peace, resolving conflicts, and dispensing justice among the powerful cultivators within the city.

Venia’s frown deepened, her surprise quickly morphing into irritation. She hadn’t anticipated an interruption to her fight, let alone the city lord’s involvement. With a dismissive wave of her delicate hand, a tinge of annoyance laced her voice, "Old man, I advise you not to interfere."

Gasps of disbelief echoed among the onlookers. Venia’s audacity was met with wide-eyed astonishment. It was considered highly disrespectful to address the city lord in such a derogatory manner. The woman’s insolence knew no bounds.

The city lord’s face darkened, a mix of anger and disbelief clouding his features. He knew he could not let this blatant disrespect go unchecked.

"Watch your manners, little girl!" one of the white-robed cultivators beside the city lord reprimanded forcefully, his aura making it evident that he was not to be trifled with. His presence indicated that he was a mid-stage seventh order realm expert, far from an ordinary Runic Mastery Realm cultivator.

The city lord’s piercing gaze fell upon the reprimanding cultivator, his eyes narrowed as a wordless command emanated from his intense stare. Witnessing the city lord’s displeasure, the cultivator immediately retracted his imposing aura and took a step back, a sign of deference and respect.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, the city lord redirected his attention to Venia. His voice boomed with authority as he addressed her once more. "Young lady, is this your first time in our city?"

Raising an eyebrow in surprise, Venia couldn’t help but wonder how the city lord had managed to discern her arrival. "Yes, I have just arrived."

The city lord nodded, his expression grave as he pointed toward the colossal icy dragon statue that loomed behind him. "Within the sacred bounds of our city, the Dragon Deity strictly forbids any form of violence. Any violation will be met with severe punishment."

Surprise flickered in Venia’s eyes as she gazed upon the dragon statue, then shifted her accusing gaze toward her opponent, Liang. Understanding began to dawn upon her, her expression darkening.

"This was your plan, wasn’t it? You wanted me to attack from the beginning?" Venia questioned coldly.

The crowd turned their attention towards Liang, suspicion and whispers spreading among them. If Venia’s accusation was true, then he had orchestrated this entire confrontation, deliberately setting her up to violate the city’s rules.

Fixing Liang with a piercing gaze, the city lord’s expression grew colder. If this was indeed the case, Liang had exploited his position and manipulated their city’s sacred laws for his own agenda.

Feeling the weight of everyone’s scrutinizing gaze, Liang’s mouth twitched involuntarily. "You’re thinking too much. I was merely defending myself."

In reality, Liang had indeed enticed Venia to the city, hoping to instigate a violent reaction that would awaken the slumbering Dragon Deity. But the city lord’s unexpected interference had foiled his plans, leaving him to contemplate his next move.
