Chapter 829: Chapter 829. Sylvan Wives Relaxing Together.
While holding one of their usual gatherings, Cinderielle and the rest looked at the new wives with confused looks. Obsidianis looked around and spoke, her tone exasperated. "If you have something to say, say it. Why are you using your gaze to say that something is wrong with us?"
Harmonixia laughed. "Isn’t it? I mean, what are you two waiting for?"
Verdantia took a sip of the tea and smiled mockingly. "They are probably impotent. Better for the rest of us."
Seraphina choked and glared at Verdantia. "Hey! Who are you calling impotent? The garden of white flowers and trees in front of Little White have not appeared from thin air!"
Verdantia looked at her with contempt. "Then what? Why have you not gone all the way with her yet? It has been over five years since Silver and Black were born. Even those two are about to go through their <First Ascension>, but you two are going to make them suffer without children to take care of!"
Obsidianis and Seraphina couldn’t answer. It was not that they didn’t want to go all the way. Just... they felt strangely shy about it.
Tempestria deadpanned. "Shy? You are pouring everything into her throat, and you say you are shy? Is something wrong with your heads?"
Seraphina sipped the tea and sighed. "I don’t know, to be honest. Perhaps it is because we’ve held back in the past for so long that now, taking that final step feels like climbing a mountain."
Even when they heard those words, the four wives could not understand them. They knew that these two had done all but the last base with Liu Shu. At one point, Harmonixia even caught Liu Shu under Seraphina’s desk when she went to check some documents.
’They have those types of exciting moments together, but they don’t go all the way?’
Her mind couldn’t wrap around it.
Tempestria turned to the side. "Hey, don’t stay silent, Obsidianis. I can believe, even if barely, that Seraphina is just gutless. However, you? Why are you holding back?"
Obsidianis sighed and looked at Seraphina. "I have honestly held back for quite a long time already. So, whatever. I’ll blurt it. I felt guilty that I went ahead of Seraphina and didn’t tell her in the past, so I had purposely delayed my turn to go after her."
Seraphina was surprised and blurted. "Huh? I just thought that we would go in the same order we advanced with Liu Shu. So, I was waiting."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
The four veteran wives deadpanned. Tempestria massaged her temples and spoke, her voice strained. "So, one of you felt guilty and wanted to silently give way, and the other just accepted the order and silently gave way... for over 5 years. Is that the summary?"
Cinderielle picked the cup and took a sip, stifling her laughter. "No wonder Liu Shu often reminds us that communication is important. A pair of airheads, pfft."
Meanwhile, Obsidianis and Seraphina slumped on their chairs, their eyes a touch empty. "Why did you suddenly become so understanding? Aren’t you always rushing to get ahead of me?"
Obsidianis answered, somewhat offended. "Hey, we’ve been together since we were children. I’ve tried surpassing you always because you are someone worthy of competing against, not due to any malicious intent."
Harmonixia smiled slyly. "You two get along quite well... How about doing it at the same time?"
Verdantia frowned. "They can’t. Do you want to hurt Liu Shu? Her entrance is already quite tight, so inserting two at the same time might lead to tearing."
"..." Everyone looked at Verdantia as if she were out of her mind.
Obsidianis’s attention was on another detail, though. "Is she really? Hasn’t Liu Shu basically gone through childbirth and... well, you four, for over a century?"
Verdantia raised her eyebrow. "Liu Shu is an Avatar of herself. Do you think that the avatar ages or something? She only needs two days of lack of action, and she is almost as good as new."
Obsidianis nodded seriously. "Then, I need to be careful. I can’t be too forceful."
Verdantia nodded. "Yes, for the first insertion, go slowly. After that, though, don’t worry too much. The avatar might not have combat strength, but she is incredibly sturdy in that aspect."
Cinderielle sighed. "Can you two not discuss such things so openly? What if someone hears?"
Verdantia and Obsidianis blinked, looking at her, and spoke simultaneously. "What of it?"
Cinderielle’s forehead pulsed, a desire to slap their cheeks surging in her heart. Tempestria laughed. "Alright, so, will you do it soon, or not?"
"We should..." Seraphina nodded and asked. "That... how did you call it? Petal Door? What is the percentage there for us?"
The four veteran wives had already told them about the Petal Door when they both surpassed 90%. There was no real reason to hide it anymore. When they discovered it, Seraphina and Obsidianis had been quite stunned.
Obsidianis laughed. "Honestly, after hearing it, the final piece of the puzzle fell into pace."
"Puzzle?" Harmonixia tilted her head.
"Yes. You four are not someone who would accept others. Even if Liu Shu likes someone, instead of silently looking away, you would actively complain and drive those people away. So, I had always been curious why, when we first met, you allowed us to silently slip our way into Liu Shu’s heart."
Seraphina hummed. "Now that you say it... Yeah. They did have many chances to tell Liu Shu to give up on us."
Tempestria asked, curious. "Don’t you feel... bad? Or like... odd?"
"Why?"
The Tempest Sylvan didn’t speak right away, organizing her thoughts. "The existence of that Petal Door... Isn’t that like some kind of force that moved us? Like... a set destiny we had no choice but to follow?"
Obsidianis shook her head. "Not at all. We might be destined and attracted at first. Something like love at first sight. However, that’s not enough for our feelings to truly develop to our current degree."
"I agree," Seraphina added and smiled. "More like being forced... It’s like Destiny allowed us to meet, and from then on, it is up to us."
Cinderielle nodded. "That’s true. We might be somewhat destined, but our happiness is not false. Even if some kind of inherent force pulled us together, I don’t resent it; I am grateful for it. Liu Shu..." She hesitated, but soon decided to continue. "Liu Shu has always been very lonely."
"Lonely?"
Obsidianis had not expected such a word from Cinderielle. The Thermis Sylvan nodded. "That’s right. From the very beginning, even when she first met Flor and the others, Liu Shu has searched for connections. When she was young, she wanted friends; then, she gained family; lastly, she gained lovers and children. It’s as if she is desperately trying not to become lonely."
Cinderielle sighed, her eyes slightly concerned. "I do not blame her, though. Every advancement, every step she takes, seems to push her to a path no one can follow along."
"What do you mean?" Seraphina frowned, a touch of worry appearing in her eyes.
Tempestria supplemented the explanation. "You asked about the percentage before, right? You both are currently at 99%. The only point of affection you have not completed is crossing the final hurdle with Liu Shu. Once you do, the Petal Door deeply connects you with Liu Shu, and also gives you access to her System Page."
"System Page?"
Tempestria nodded. "I can, at any moment, see Liu Shu’s System Page without anything hidden. You two can’t, right?"
Seraphina nodded. "If I try to access it, all I get is a bunch of question marks."
Tempestria spoke softly. "Well, later, you’ll be able to read it in detail, as if it were your own."
Obsidianis asked, frowning. "Does Liu Shu know?"
"We, of course, told her that we can. We have not revealed the existence of the Petal Door, though. We just told her that, after mixing bodies for the first time, we gained that ability. Liu Shu was happy about it."
Once more, the two were surprised. "Happy? How so?"
Verdantia snorted. "Are you two really about to become Liu Shu’s true wives? With Cinderielle’s and Tempestria’s tales, you should know that Liu Shu wants deeper connections. So, us being able to see into her true self so deeply is naturally a joyful thing for her."
"Ah."
As they mulled over their words, they couldn’t help but sigh and frown. Seraphina asked, cautious. "Liu Shu... has not become disillusioned because we have not taken the last step, right?"
Harmonixia smiled, her melodious laughter reaching them. "Sorry, but we make sure she is ’full of love’ every single day. So, you have nothing to worry about. If anything, she is confused, not disappointed."
"Alright." Cinderielle settled her cup on the plate with gentle motion. "You two, right here, decide who goes first."
Taking out a mobile device, Obsidianis smirked. "How about we decide it with that popular game? You have been quite hooked on it, right?"
Seraphina snorted, taking her own. "Bring it on."
The other four moved behind them, two behind each. Verdantia spoke. "How about we bet? I bet for Seraphina. I’ve played a few times with her, and she is quite good at it."
Tempestria’s eyes shone with curiosity. "What do we bet?"
"The slot for Liu Shu’s next pregnancy after Obsidianis and Seraphina."
Harmonixia’s eyes lit up with competitiveness. "You are on. I bet for Obsidianis."
Cinderielle smiled. "I go with Seraphina."
Tempestria shrugged. "I’ll go with Obsidianis."
So, they moved their chairs behind the one they bet on, and they began playing the game. "A best of three?"
"A best of three. I won’t lose!"
Cinderielle exclaimed. "Hey! Be careful!"
Tempestria exclaimed. "Wow. Good one, Obsidianis!"
Verdantia smirked a little bit later. "What a reversal. You are looking a bit gloomy, Miss Darkness."
Cinderielle laughed. "I have never seen someone so eager to snatch defeat out of victory’s roots, hahaha."
Obsidianis clicked her tongue. "It’s not over yet."
The score went up on both sides, and soon, the third and final match began. After a good exchange, Seraphina laughed, and Obsidianis groaned. "You little. How did you sneak those troops behind me?"
Seraphina grinned. "You always focus too much on overwhelming with numbers. Tactics are king!"
Hearing their words, Tempestria chuckled. "They actually play quite similar to how they manipulate their summons."
Obsidianis grumbled. "What’s the point of being sublime when you can drown your enemies in the spit of your summons?"
Seraphina shook her head and sighed. "What if someone sneaks past your summons to attack Liu Shu because you were too tactless? Remember that now we fight to protect, Obsidianis. Before, there was no problem since you were at the center, but from now on, you need to learn a bit of tactics."
Obsidianis paused and then turned serious. "I guess... you are right." Then, glancing at Seraphina, she sighed. "In the end, I am last when I got the advantage! What a bummer."
Cinderielle sighed. "Welcome to the club. My advantage also got stolen by the titty monster."
Verdantia puffed out her breasts, causing them to jiggle violently. "Jealous much? Sorry, mine just bounce even when I walk slowly. It’s not my fault Liu Shu’s eyes are drawn to them."
Cinderielle’s lips twitched, her palm itching to slap those uselessly large, bouncing breasts.
