Chapter 674: Chapter 397: About Stealing Credit
The sounds of battle in the center of the county town even drowned out the explosions and wails outside.
Nomura clutched his chest and hid a dozen meters away, the madness and pride in his eyes all turned into deep-rooted fear.
Thin steel wires and ice spikes surrounded a death arena in the middle, and in the very center stood a giant over two meters tall, every muscle defying physiological limits, bulging and twisting under the skin, like the roots of an old tree crazily protruding and winding.
The trapezius and latissimus dorsi muscles expanded into a living suit of armor, undulating and cracking like volcanic rock with his heavy breathing, revealing dense bloody fractures.
His hands, like siege hammers, held half a doomed Korean club, roaring as they charged left and right, like an indefatigable War Giant.
Nomura couldn’t imagine this outcome even if he racked his brains.
Together with Kim Inji and Zhunei Junhiko, three Tier Two Evolvers, one fighting expert, one supporting mechanical expert, and one controlling "Cold Raven Ninja," encircled a severely injured Tier Two, and yet one of them was ripped apart by the opponent!
Including Qianye who was killed instantly before, two Tier Two Evolvers from the Pan-Asian Alliance were already dead.
Zhunei Junhiko relied on his speed to continuously inflict wounds on Lian Jin within the arena, yet the opponent’s blood flooded the entire arena and still showed no sign of slowing down—instead, he became faster and stronger!
This is just hell!
Zhunei narrowly dodged the punch and was then slammed by half of Kim Inji, crashing into the steel wires behind, spurting out blood, and angrily throwing out a sheet of ice spikes, turning his head to curse, "You bastard! What are you doing? I’m about to be killed!"
Seeing the other’s miserable state, Nomura shivered, pulled out a strangely shaped handgun and fired at Lian Jin.
The gun didn’t shoot bullets but something similar to crystals, which shattered instantly upon hitting Lian Jin’s chest, causing his strong figure to stagger, the bloody chest rapidly turning black, emitting waves of stench.
Zhunei, facing Lian Jin, was shocked, "You actually have Lord Baki’s venom!"
Nomura’s face twisted in distress, his voice poisonous, "This stuff is worth more than both our lives! Hurry up and kill him!"
"You have no right to order me!"
Zhunei snorted coldly, flicking the short dagger in his hand and dodged Lian Jin’s incoming Iron Fist.
"Boom!"
The building and the ice layer enveloping it exploded, but Lian Jin didn’t swiftly turn around for pursuit as he had before.
He just gazed at the horizon with a hint of deep regret in his eyes.
Wondering if my sister is doing alright.
She definitely is; she’s Lord Lian after all...
Just wondering who will ultimately tame that tigress.
Thinking of this, ironically, Lian Jin thought of the conductor’s face, then dismissed it, saying to himself, my sister hates those pretty men who look better than her.
They might have a fierce battle if they meet.
Too bad he can’t witness it.
Lian Jin felt even more regretful.
The wound on his chest no longer hurt, which indicated the nerves were being paralyzed by the toxin. But even more lethal was the emptiness inside; he relied on a burst potion to instantly kill Kim Inji, but the potion wasn’t everything—after exhausting strength and Energy, deeper weakness ensued.
Forget about two Tier Twos—even a Tier One Evolver could easily finish off him.
’But if I can waste one of their trump cards before dying, that’s good.’
"You’re the strongest Donghuang Person I’ve ever seen."
Zhunei cautiously approached within ten meters of Lian Jin, which was the opponent’s best attack range. Each previous approach led to a stormy attack from the opponent, with a look of apprehension and admiration in his eyes.
Lian Jin retracted his gaze, disdainfully spat blood at the opponent’s cautious look.
Then he felt it wasn’t impressive enough, imagining his sister and that man’s appearance—eyes slightly narrowing, chin raised, sarcastically, "Strongest? Wait until you meet those two and you’ll know what despair feels like."
Doubt flickered in Zhunei’s eyes; isn’t someone who can fight four of them the strongest?
Are there stronger ones within Donghuang?
Could it be Tier Three?
No way!
At this stage, that’s a realm only achievable by Lord Baki; ordinary humans couldn’t possibly reach it.
Zhunei subconsciously thought Lian Jin was bluffing, feeling much more balanced.
With a touch of pride, he asked, "You’ve earned the right to let me know your name, Donghuang Person."
Lian Jin first sneered and then laughed so hard as if hearing an amusing joke, until Zhunei’s face turned unsightly, he coldly cursed, "A bunch of stray dogs, worthy of asking my name?"
Zhunei’s expression changed dramatically, "What did you say?"
"He said you’re not worthy."
A cold female voice appeared out of nowhere.
Everyone’s expressions changed simultaneously.
A chilling male voice followed closely, "I also think he’s right."
Along with the falling words, the surrounding ground erupted like a volcano, flames shot up over ten meters high, converging into a giant dome of fire in mid-air, enveloping the entire arena.
The bloodstained ice spikes in the arena melted quickly, water vapor not yet rising, was evaporated by the soaring temperature.
A gray-green figure appeared behind Lian Jin, eyes like flickering flames, the raging fire spilling down from the corners of his eyes, climbing over the handsome face, scorching through, causing the steel wire to glow red and snap.
The scorching aura made Zhunei’s whole body uncomfortable; the "Fire Manipulator" ability was just opposite to his.
Zhunei’s heart alarm bells rang crazily, most wary of the unseen woman.
