Chapter 570: Chapter 346: I’ll Hold Off the Conductor (Part 2)

Wei Mountain stared intently at the train conductor, "To be honest, I don’t have enough resources, but I have some news that might interest you. If you think it’s valuable, the formula is mine. If not, the auction continues, no loss either way. What do you say?"

The man in camouflage who previously bid against Lian Jin snorted, "Since this is an auction, let’s stick to the rules of the auction—highest bidder wins. What are you doing jumping in halfway like this?"

Lian Jin chimed in, "Yeah, at least take a look at our offer, maybe it’s more sincere than theirs?"

Mr. Shu remained silent, his deep gaze fixed on Su Huan, waiting to see how he would handle the situation.

...

Five minutes ago, second floor of the brothel.

Bomb was pushed inside absentmindedly and nervously surveyed the room’s decor. With a quick glance, he habitually swept his gaze to the sides, behind him, above, and other positions.

Upon seeing the door, his pupils suddenly constricted.

A woman pressed one hand on the door frame, holding a giant axe taller than herself in the other, her athletic white legs slightly hung like scorpion tails. She calmly watched him, her gaze fixed on his vulnerable spots such as neck, heart, and lower body. It didn’t feel like she was looking at a man, or even a person, but rather a livestock ready for slaughter.

Bomb shivered under that gaze, stepping back two steps, and tentatively asked, "Are you Mirror... sis?"

Hearing this term, Mirror’s gaze softened slightly; she flipped down.

Her toes absorbed the impact silently, her dress swirling down like waves, covering her shapely body. She swung the long-handled axe, producing a resonant whistle, and rested it on her shoulder.

She had been here for two days; the woman who took her in suggested she rest for two days before starting business. Though she didn’t need rest, she did not object due to the woman’s help in changing meat, but she secretly did two deals over these days.

As for why these people liked spending money to hire someone to commit suicide, she couldn’t care less.

It was just a matter of one axe swing.

The only regret was, with the auction starting, she still hadn’t gathered enough money, so she planned to continue doing business here for a while longer; there was plenty of work around, seemingly endless.

"Are you here to do business?"

The woman’s voice was dark, slightly grainy, like the pages of an old book flipped through on a couch in the afternoon, possessing a unique rhythm.

Bomb instinctively recalled that fleeting pink view, a bit conflicted inside.

Mirror’s figure was excellent, but her aura was peculiarly strange, leaving him no room for daydreams.

He scratched his head awkwardly, "No, I’m just here to hang out for a while...

Mirror showed some regret; she thought she would have opened her first deal today.

She lounged onto the bed unceremoniously, exposing her spring beauty carelessly, murmured, "Find a place to sit yourself."

Just as Bomb was about to say something to ease the awkwardness, he noticed Mirror sat up, staring directly at him, gripping the long-handled axe and chopping straight down.

Terrified, Bomb rolled to the side on reflex.

With a "boom," the axe, carrying a terrifying force, split the wooden door behind him in two, leaving a powerful impact on the cement bricks, sending debris flying, the entire room ringing with echoes, shaking Bomb’s brain as if a grenade exploded inside.

Looking at the frightful gap and swirling dust, Bomb was entirely stupefied.

A cold voice rang through the dust, "No wonder you’re Genetic Primordial; your strength has improved again. But can you escape this time?"

Two men’s silhouettes appeared at the door, their eyes fixed on Mirror with grimness.

Mirror was unfazed, delivering a swift kick to the axe penetrating the floorboard, sending the axe toward the silhouettes at the door. The ground split like a piece of paper, rubble burst out, dust scattered, rushing at the two men ferociously, Mirror following suit.

With a "bang," Mirror was pulled back, gripping the axe handle, while a transparent film appeared in front of the two men.

"Blast!"

The youth’s shout was clear and firm.

Though Bomb was caught off guard by the sudden change, he quickly reacted.

No unnecessary words; he seized the moment while they repelled Mirror, pushing his explosion ability to its limit; intense energy unleashed violently in the narrow space.

Mirror accelerated mid-air.

The two men widened their eyes,

"BOOM——"

The second floor of the small building was directly blown open by the explosion, scattering rubble blinded Pang Ke and others who had just rushed over to catch the thief.

Pang Ke’s eyes flushed with anger, cursing out, "Rebellion! Rebellion! Mobilize two hundred more men for me and surround this place. I’m gonna see which fool has the guts to cause trouble in Zhijin today!"

"Yes!"

Two City Guard Army sprinted out, requesting more reinforcements.

The remaining forty hurriedly dispersed the crowd, seized high ground, and surrounded the small building with rifles and cannons.

Just as Pang Ke prepared to charge, Chen Shan grabbed him, "The train’s reinforcements haven’t arrived yet!"

Pang Ke hesitated, "How long?"

At that moment, the building erupted with screams, a group of disheveled women rushed out like dozens of rabbits, faces filled with fear and an endearing aura.

Pang Ke’s nostrils flared, taking a rough breath, "Residents are being harmed before me; as the City Guard Army Chief, it’s my duty! Alright, you stay here to command the support, I’ll go in first to check!"

With that, he charged up holding a heavy sniper, like a brave gray ball.

Chen Shan pointed at Pang Ke’s back, unable to utter a word.

...

Armed train, Cultivation Pod.

Due to the importance of the Crown Pear Tree, along with carrying supercomputers and data centers, when recapturing the Zhijin station, they didn’t let the Cultivation Pod participate in battle, directly dismantled it and placed it at the back of the train.

So, the Cultivation Pod was the best-preserved carriage after the big battle.

In a matter of months, the Crown Pear Tree’s substantially diminished branches have regrown, bearing several fresh Crown Pears swaying in the wind, exuding a faintly sweet pear aroma.

When the explosion occurred, only the leaves facing that side rustled.

Tong Zizhan and Gao Yuan stood atop the Cultivation Pod, gazing at the chaotic market site, clicking their tongues.

Tong Zizhan, excitedly said, "What did I say? There’s trouble over there for sure; good thing I was clever and changed our support task to guarding the Crown Pear Tree; otherwise, the both of us would have been caught up now."

Gao Yuan subtly rotated his ring, showing high approval, "In terms of caution, you’re impressive."

Tong Zizhan with one hand behind his back, wore a proud demeanor.

"Exactly, guarding the tree can only be done occasionally; do it too much, and people will start picking up patterns, but we just need to get through this auction period."

Gao Yuan nodded, "I understand. By the way, what’s with the girl? She’s been sitting there all day." He pointed at the girl sitting on the edge of the Cultivation Pod. The girl appeared quite downcast, ears drooping, tail not wagging, occasionally moving, staring at the Crown Pear Tree unfocused, lost in thought.

Because Tan Yunxi would frequently wander around, she often bumped into the lazing Tong Zizhan duo, so the three had a decent relationship.

Tong Zizhan chuckled mischievously, "What else? This little girl was so arrogant when she got on the train; she probably feels crushed now. Let’s go see what’s up."

Two men folded their arms and approached Tan Yunxi, sitting on either side.

They took out a pack of seeds from their pockets, distributed them, then offered some to the bewildered Tan Yunxi, casually said, "What’s up? Anything troubling, tell your bros."

Tan Yunxi glanced at the seeds in her hand, seemingly resigning herself, let out a faint sigh.

"If I say I’m a spy, what would you do?"
