Chapter 568: Chapter 345: I’ll Hold Off the Conductor (Part 1)_2
Unexpectedly, there was another dismemberment case the next day, and the crime scene was similar to the last one, a deserted alleyway where a man was brutally dismembered.
Pang Ke and Chen Shan searched the area for a day but found nothing.
On the third day, another incident occurred, and in desperation, they could only report it to the train and request assistance from a Tier One Evolver skilled in investigation.
In the alley, looking at the man brutally dismembered on the ground, Pang Ke’s chubby face was filled with anger, pacing like a furious groundhog and occasionally urging, "Where’s the ’Trace Expert’ borrowed by the train?’
Chen Shan consoled, "The expert is observing the previous two dismemberment sites, and they’ll be here soon."
Pang Ke glared at the bustling street in the distance, furiously saying, "At such a critical moment causing me trouble, when I find him, I’ll rip him apart with my own hands!"
A cold glint flashed in Chen Shan’s eyes, "That would be too easy. Better send him to Old Yang’s kind of basin."
"It feels a bit early to talk about this. We’d better get more people; the three of us alone might not be able to handle him or her."
A man wearing a train service crew armband approached, his face solemn. This was the expert borrowed by the train.
Pang Ke frowned, "Can’t I just shoot him?"
The Trace Expert came over, squatted before the corpse.
Despite the sand and dust covering much of the information, in his eyes, all traces on the scene would transform into data. Several abrupt data points glaringly indicated the opponent’s terrifying power.
"My judgment is that the opponent has at least Tier Two strength, but there’s too little of the battle process to analyze specific abilities. If Chief Su were here, it might be more intuitive."
Pang Ke and Chen Shan exchanged a glance, a bit hesitant, "Which Su?"
The Trace Expert clapped his hands and sternly said, "Chief Supervisor Su Reya, her ability is profiling; she can directly recreate the scene situation. I still have to judge by myself, with the likelihood of misjudgment. The decision is yours to make, anyway, I won’t participate in the capture."
Chen Shan looked at Pang Ke, though the latter always seemed impatient and restless, he was renowned among the Black Star Five Tigers for his perceptiveness.
Pang Ke’s eyes circled twice, then resolutely said, "Report to the train, request support!"
Just as they made the decision, two strong young men passed by the entrance of the alley.
Bomb’s bright red mohawked hair had long been shaved off, revealing dark stubble, and the rascal air about him replaced by a sharp, primal ferocity, making him seem even more of a force to reckon with.
Beside him, Xiao Hong appeared calm. After months of training, other than making the youth’s posture more erect, he seemed unchanged, but the inadvertent murderous aura in his eyes was much more potent than Bomb’s.
"Finally a half-day off, are you sure you want to wander here?"
Xiao Hong asked lightly.
Bomb scratched his head, pretending to look around, "Staying too long in the rookie camp, I don’t even know what to do, maybe..."
"Why not come to my home."
"Good!"
Bomb agreed promptly, turned his steps, and headed straight for a certain two-story building.
Completely unaware of Xiao Hong’s speechless gaze.
Perhaps noticed, but unwilling to face it.
Bomb had only been here once, but like he had gone through a thousand times, he weaved through the maze of alleys to the door.
There were significantly fewer people seeking pleasure in the morning, but occasionally men would stagger out, deep eye bags, and despite their unsteady steps, their faces brimmed with satisfaction as if they had consumed an elixir of replenishment.
Upon entering, Xiao Hong’s eyes widened.
In the living room, two scantily clad women played, one waving the fabric torn from the others’ body lightly.
With laughter, their full bodies jiggled softly.
Seeing Xiao Hong and his companion enter, they weren’t embarrassed, instead, a little surprised and delighted, "Little Hong knows how to bring business back for the sisters."
Xiao Hong sighed, "My friend came back with me to take a look, where’s my aunt?"
A woman giggled and approached, her fiery gaze sweeping over Bomb’s well-built chest, "Little Hong’s friend can have a fifty percent discount."
The other one directly poked Bomb’s abs, eyes sparkling, "Sister doesn’t need money; you just have to come more often."
"Little Hong also got much sturdier, want sister to help you out?"
"Why don’t we take one each, I haven’t tried Little Hong’s taste yet."
"Very satisfying."
Their blatant laughter left Bomb at a loss.
Xiao Hong didn’t feel much.
Not that he was impervious or ascetic.
He had his share already; Bomb was different. This guy was kept in check by President Nan and the others, with no opportunity for mischief. Intensive training in the rookie camp kept him vigorous every day, showing his severe restraint.
Xiao Hong suspected that’s how Bomb’s explosive ability came to be.
"If you two are really lonely, stand by the door and attract some business. Little Hong, take your friend upstairs."
A clear voice called from upstairs.
Xiao Hong shrugged, "Aunt’s calling me."
He then grabbed Bomb and headed upstairs.
Xiao Hong’s aunt, clad in a robe, leaned against the corridor, her curves exuding the allure of a mature woman.
Seeing Bomb’s slight unease, she smiled, then opened a door, "I have to talk with Xiao Hong for a bit, you wait here a moment." Then she called into the room, "Mirror, take care of this young brother."
And with that, pushed a bewildered Bomb inside.
Turning to Xiao Hong, her smile immediately dropped, "Ran off and never came to visit for so long, didn’t we cater well to Young Master Xiao?"
Xiao Hong’s head throbbed, smiling wryly, "I thought with Black Star’s deterrence, no one would dare cause trouble for a while, but didn’t expect the military camp wouldn’t allow leave, only today did I get a chance to come back."
The woman’s expression eased considerably, and she huffed coldly, "Heartless..."
Xiao Hong appeased her with a smile, pointing to the door with curiosity, "Who’s Mirror, a newcomer?"
The woman sneered, "What, the Young Master wants a taste?"
Xiao Hong instantly backed down.
...
Auction.
The auction that should have ended quickly was only halfway through.
The main reason was Wei Mountain from Deep Blue Data acting like a mad dog, inserting himself regardless of item usefulness, often raising prices at the last moment.
This caused the prices of the auction items to rise significantly.
Mr. Shu and Lian Jin tricked him once, making him purchase an item at an exorbitant price, yet Wei Mountain showed no restraint, acting like a disruptive element, behind every bidder.
Like a shill hired by the Armored Train.
The leaders of various factions didn’t dare do anything to Su Huan but could only grind their teeth at Wei Mountain.
Even Su Huan was confused by Wei Mountain’s actions; he indeed hired shills.
But Wei Mountain performed so well, leaving no room for shills to act.
Moreover, with bids reaching thousands to tens of thousands of points, even the shills didn’t dare to say a word for fear of ruining the auction.
Though a bit puzzled, since Wei Mountain’s every bid genuinely increased his wealth, Su Huan let it be.
But only Deep Blue Data would act this way; if it were anyone else, even Mr. Shu, he would have held the person down to check their financial capability first.
Wei Mountain was internally bleeding. He had indeed prepared quite a bit of resources for the Crown Pear, but the total value was only around two hundred thousand points, any more would exceed his personal authority.
Already, six thousand points were spent in a short time, but the items obtained, albeit nice, were hardly compensatory for his blunders.
Yet, the Genetic Primordial hadn’t been captured; once the auction concluded and Su Huan had freed hands, even three Tier Twos couldn’t take the Genetic Primordial away.
The opportunity was singular!
Thus, even if it was with gritted teeth, Wei Mountain had to keep bidding.
The goal was purely to buy time.
Even if losing everything, as long as he could retrieve the Genetic Primordial, he’d secure his position, and the lost resources would return a thousandfold.
While he pondered, the train presented another major item.
A complete career formula from Tier One to Tier Five!
Instantly, there was an uproar in the hall.
Even Wei Mountain was astounded but slightly skeptical.
He understood the train’s resources well; even Deep Blue Data lacked a complete Tier Five career formula, not even theoretically, where would the Armored Train get one?
In the disarray, someone stationed at the stairway observed for a moment; when Wei Mountain’s gaze swept over, he said nothing, merely transmitting a firm gaze to Wei Mountain.
Wei Mountain took a deep breath, telling the last Tier Two by his side, "You can go now."
The latter didn’t move, yet Wei Mountain noticed his dread of the figure behind the auction platform, and gritted his teeth, "You handle the task, I’ll hold the train supervisor."
Then he stood up and loudly stated, "Wait a minute, I have something to say!"
