Chapter 1565: Chapter 889: Take No Prisoners!
The convoy roared. The vehicles at the gate had long since been cleared out by Li Tie and the others, and one car after another drove out through the main gate.
Third Uncle and the others piloted the helicopter. After takeoff, it didn’t fly very fast in the sky, but it was still much faster than the convoy on the ground.
Inside the rescue base building.
Zhang Rufen and the others stared blankly at the disappearing convoy.
"They’re just leaving like that?" Ghost Head’s eyes held some disbelief as he spoke.
Off to the side, Liu Cunyi was packing his luggage bundle. He patted the dust off his backpack and said, "Let’s go, we still have to keep heading east."
Very soon, they finished packing their things as well, but they didn’t take the paved road; instead, they went into the mountains and forest.
They were still in Gui Province now, and there might still be those telecom fraudsters from Southeast Asia on the roads outside. If they ran into them, they’d have no ability to fight back.
Though the paths through the mountains and forests weren’t easy to walk, they won out in terms of safety.
.....
On the other side.
The mighty convoy, after coming down from the mountain, kept moving in the southwest direction.
Following the G60 highway, if they didn’t stop along the way, it would take at most five or six hours to reach Kun City.
But on this stretch of road, Li Yu and the others were already prepared; things definitely wouldn’t be peaceful.
Zi zi zi——
The walkie-talkie crackled with Third Uncle’s voice: "Xiao Yu, we’ll go ahead and take a look."
After hearing this, Li Yu picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Got it. Notify us immediately if anything happens."
Third Uncle put down the walkie-talkie and contacted Ant and Lao Yi in the other two helicopters. They split up, each searching for traces of those fraudsters.
The communications vehicle had an added relay station, which could extend the walkie-talkies’ range to 50 kilometers.
So as long as these helicopters stayed within fifty kilometers of Li Yu and the others, they could stay in contact.
The three helicopters spread out, flying in a scatter formation in three different directions.
Lao Yi and the others were flying the helicopter that had previously been repaired back at the rescue base.
After the electronic beacon on it was fixed, they could see Li Yu and the others’ position on the screen, so they wouldn’t end up going too far and losing the convoy on the ground.
On the ground, Li Yu and the others drove their vehicles, maintaining a speed of fifty kilometers per hour.
This time out, all the vehicles they were driving had strong off-road performance, so driving was relatively smooth.
Time ticked by, second by second.
Half an hour quickly passed. In a small town, in front of a six-story building, Third Uncle and the others discovered over a dozen vehicles. At a glance, it was obvious these cars weren’t scrapped.
Because it was still early, there were barely any people outside in this town.
Only two men were standing by the wall taking a piss. Hearing the buzzing of the helicopter overhead, they hurriedly looked up.
"Where’d that helicopter come from?"
"Forget it, hurry up and go inside to report."
But just as they were rushing toward the building, Third Uncle in the helicopter raised his telescope and saw the license plates on the vehicles below.
Myanmar script!
There was no doubt—these were the telecom fraudsters from Southeast Asia.
"Gain altitude and circle around this building," Third Uncle quickly said to Old Qin.
Then he unfastened his safety belt, hurried into the cabin, and opened up a TNT bomb. He hefted its weight; it was at least five kilos.
Five kilos of TNT was enough to blow that little six-story building below to rubble.
At the same time, those two Myanmar men who had been pissing outside rushed into the building and shouted loudly, "There’s a helicopter outside, get up, get up!"
Amid their running and shouting, the fraudsters who were still resting inside the building woke up.
One man who looked like a minor boss, bare-chested, opened the door with anger on his face. He hated being disturbed in his sleep more than anything.
"What’s all the yelling for? What the hell are you doing so early? If you don’t give me a reason that convinces me..."
Before Munai could finish, the man who had rushed in blurted out:
"Munai, outside, there’s a helicopter outside, don’t know where it came from. I feel like something’s wrong."
"What? A helicopter? Are you kidding me? How could there be a helicopter? You must’ve seen wrong, took a bird for a helicopter."
"I swear it’s not. It’s not just me who saw it—Bu Xing saw it too. If you don’t believe me, ask him."
Bu Xing, standing beside him, also nodded, his eyes full of fear.
It was fear of the unknown. They’d been running wild for too long lately, doing whatever they wanted, and he was terrified that payback had come.
"So what if a helicopter came? If it pisses us off, even the King of Heaven, we’ll shoot him down. What are you panicking for? Grab your guns and come with me!"
Munai didn’t even put on a shirt. He grabbed a gun and led his men toward the door.
Soon, they reached the entrance.
"Look, that’s the helicopter. It was really close to us just now; now it looks like it’s flying higher."
Munai lifted his head, curled his lip, and said, "Brothers, shoot at that helicopter! How dare it—"
"Boss, something just fell off that helicopter, looks like it’s dropping toward us."
"That helicopter’s leaving—they’re leaving."
A pre-rigged pack of TNT fell slowly through the air.
It was getting closer and closer to Munai and the others.
"Not good, it’s explosives!"
When they saw and realized that what the helicopter had dropped was explosives and tried to scatter and run, it was already too late.
BOOM!!!
A blast thundered out, and a small mushroom cloud rose into the sky.
