Chapter 817: Settling In
Bai Wenxuan glanced at Fox once again. It was one thing that the man promised Bai Meiyue ten fighter jets, but he also promised her crystal nuclei. Was he trying to rip every penny from him? Fox lowered his head when he saw Bai Wenxuan looking at him. How was he supposed to know that this young master would be so poor? Bah! He thought that with the Bai family backing him, Bai Wenxuan must be living a good life. But it seemed like he was wrong! Sob! He had no idea.
Sucking in a breath as if realising that there was no point in fighting with Fox. He turned to look at Bai Meiyue and promised, "I am sorry for the trouble. Since these things were promised to you, they will be naturally delivered to you. But for the time being...there is nothing I can do."
Bai Meiyue frowned when she heard Bai Wenxuan’s response. She turned to look at Fox, who waved his hands and exclaimed, "Sister Meiyue, there is no need to feel wronged. Boss Wenxuan is a man of honour. Since he promised, he will naturally give you the rewards that were promised to you. It’s just that you will have to wait for a while."

Bai Meiyue curled her lips when she thought about how Yang Wei would explain the ability users after arriving at the safe base in the capital. He had a headache thinking about the good things that Yang Wei had done. He wondered why that woman could not sit still. She even caused such big trouble with Bai Meiyue. Was she worried that she would not disgust Bai Meiyue enough? Well, he had to congratulate that woman. She had disgusted Bai Meiyue to the point that the woman did not even want to see her face. Bai Wenxuan wondered how he was going to settle Yang Wei if that woman came to look for him.
Fox also understood what Bai Wenxuan was thinking; he immediately pulled him out of the mansion while saying to Bai Meiyue, "I will settle him down in my mansion. Sister Meiyue, you don’t have to worry about anything." And before Bai Wenxuan could say anything, he dragged Bai Wenxuan out of the mansion right away without giving the man a chance to fight back. Not that he had any chance of fighting back, because his wheelchair was under the control of Fox.
Bai Wenxuan: "..." These jerks! They were taking advantage of his disability!
Bai Meiyue had no idea what Bai Wenxuan was thinking; she simply allowed the man to be dragged out of the mansion and went to sleep. She was pregnant and needed to sleep as much as possible before her little son arrived.
On the other side, Fox took Bai Wenxuan to his mansion, where Bai Wenxuan glared at the man. "You...can you tell me why you promised so many things to that woman? Are you trying to ruin me?"
"What was I supposed to do? If you want to blame someone, then blame Yang Wei. That woman is such a spoiled brat that she cannot even understand the current situation. Even though she knew how hard it was for me to find a safe place for her to stay, she continued making trouble for Bai Meiyue. You think that what Bai Meiyue told you was all Yang Wei did?" He then relayed the good things that Yang Wei did in the safe base, including how she went against Bai Meiyue at every turn.
By the time he finished speaking, Fox felt like he was the one who suffered the most. He snorted and then said angrily, "You want to blame me, but who am I supposed to blame? Who asked Yang Wei to be such a handful? If not for the bribes I gave Bai Meiyue—you can forget about meeting your son. It’s all because I threw these baits every now and then; she was willing to let Yang Wei give birth safely. If not, where would I have taken Yang Wei?"
