Bai Meiyue raised her voice and slammed her fist on the table. She eyed the man in front of her with a hint of disgust. "Xiao Chenye, I was willing to talk to you because I thought you were sensible, but it seemed like I overestimated you. What do you mean by that? Just because I am related to Bai Wenxuan, I am supposed to swallow all of your lady’s tantrums?"

"First of all, even if I am related to Bai Wenxuan, neither of us has seen or met with one another. Secondly, even if we are related, my mom is yet to be accepted in the Bai family. You are quick to ask for a favour from me by using the relationship, but tell me, has anything been done to give my mother an explanation?"

Though Bai Meiyue did not have any intention of getting involved with the Bai family, she also did not want the Bai family to take advantage of her. The Bai family had yet to give a proper explanation to her mother; there had been no solution provided. Yet Yang Wei already wanted to use the relationship that had not been cleared up? "I don’t want anything." Bai Meiyue rolled her eyes when she heard the man’s question. "Do you think I am lacking in anything?"

Strictly speaking, there was indeed nothing that could satisfy Bai Meiyue. At the moment, she had almost everything. He sucked in a breath and stated, "I will mention this matter in front of Master Bai. He will discuss the matter of returning this favour with you." He realised that he could not push Bai Meiyue as per his mistress’s orders, and the woman was way too sly. She did not eat hot or cold.
