Chapter 213: Sealed

High above the battlefield, the tension between the two beings also sharpened as the situation below continued to spiral further out of control.

Lilian’s gaze remained fixed on Myles. Her expression tightening as she watched him about to stand his ground against something that had already gone far beyond what any of them had expected.

The longer she observed, the more the worry inside her grew and pressed against her restraint until she finally spoke, her voice carrying a clear hint of urgency.

"I’m going down there," she said, her eyes still locked on Myles as if she had already made her decision. "He won’t be able to handle this alone."

Seraphina didn’t move. Her golden eyes remained calm as they continued to observe the battlefield below, taking in every detail without the slightest sign of haste.

"No," she replied, her tone steady and absolute. "Not yet."

Lilian’s brows furrowed slightly as she turned her head toward her. "What do you mean, not yet?"

"We let him fight," Seraphina said without hesitation, her gaze sharpening faintly as it followed Myles’ movements. "We let him do everything he can in this situation. Only then can we measure him properly."

Her voice lowered slightly, carrying a more deliberate weight. "I need to see what he truly is."

The words hung heavily.

Lilian’s expression tightened further. The conflict within her became more visible as her eyes shifted back toward Myles again.

"You’re asking him to face that thing alone," she said, her tone lower now, almost strained.

Seraphina didn’t deny it. "I’m asking him to prove himself."

Silence followed for a brief moment, but it didn’t last.

A faint crimson glow began to emerge around Lilian’s body.

It started subtly, like a thin layer of energy clinging to her form. But it quickly grew stronger as her emotions bled into it.

The aura flickered like embers catching flame, swirling gently at first before rising higher and wrapping around her like a presence that pulsed with her real power.

The air around her distorted slightly as the energy intensified, reacting to her intent as it built up.

"I don’t care," Lilian said quietly, her voice firm despite the tension in it. "I’m not just going to watch."

But before she could move, far below, Red’s head snapped upward.

His crimson eyes locked onto the sky instantly as if he had sensed something intruding upon his domain. The grin on his face widened to stretching unnaturally as the madness within his gaze deepened.

"Ah..." he muttered, his voice filled with excitement.

Without hesitation, his hand moved to his side and he drew the short sword hanging at his hip.

The blade itself didn’t look extraordinary at first glance, but the moment it left its sheath, something changed. The aura around Red surged violently as if the weapon had triggered something hidden beneath the surface.

Red raised the sword and pointed it toward the sky.

He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t even think before he did it. He simply acted.

The Blood Sun within him responded.

A pulse of orange and reddish energy burst outward from his body, spreading across the battlefield in an instant. The air warped as the power expanded rapidly to form a vast dome that swallowed everything beneath it.

The crimson barrier shimmered as it solidified and enclosing the entire battlefield within its range like a sealed world drenched in blood-red light.

"I will not let you bother my slaughter," Red said, his voice echoing with a wide grin stretching across his face.

High above, both Lilian and Seraphina felt immediately the moment the dome completed, the connection between Lilian and the battlefield below was cut off.

Her aura that was about to descend flickered. Then destabilized.

The energy surrounding her wavered as if something was suppressing it directly to prevent it from extending downward. The crimson glow around her body dimmed slightly as resistance pushed back against her power, refusing to let it pass through the barrier that now covered the battlefield.

Lilian’s eyes widened slightly as she felt it.

"This..." she muttered, her voice tightening.

Seraphina observed it calmly. Her gaze focused on the dome below as the faintest trace of surprise appeared in her eyes.

"Impressive," she said with a tone that carries genuine interest now. "For someone in this world to draw out that much from the Blood Sun..." Her eyes shifted briefly toward the sword in Red’s hand. "I think that weapon is not ordinary either."

Below, the dome pulsed faintly. Its presence was heavy and absolute.

Lilian’s aura flickered once more before slowly fading.

She clenched her jaw slightly, frustration and helplessness mixing in her expression as she realized there was nothing she could do. The barrier didn’t just block her movement but denied her power to descend.

Her gaze dropped once more and settled on Myles.

For a moment her expression softened, and something close to apology appeared in her eyes as she watched him continue to stand there, unaware of what had just happened above him.

Her aura fully dimmed.

"I’m sorry..." she whispered under her breath, though he would never hear it.

There was nothing left for her to do. At least not now.

The battlefield had been sealed and Myles... had to face it alone.

Deep inside her a quiet thought that was heavy with uncertainty lingered. "I hope... you can handle this."

Below the sealed sky, Red didn’t realize that the tide of battle began to turn as Red’s troops slowly lost their ground under the relentless pressure from Michael’s side. The ranged attacks from above the wall play a big part on it.

The earlier fear still lingered but desperation pushed them forward, and coordinated attacks started to break through the scattered formation of Red’s remaining forces.

One by one, around him his men fell, unable to match the growing momentum.

Amid the chaos, Michael’s body stirred again. He coughed harshly as pain surged through him. His fingers dug into the ground as he forced himself up. He was still trembling but refusing to stay down. His eyes burning once more.
