Chapter 294: Chapter 294: Don’t Dare to Kill Her?

What she didn’t know, however, was that the Stella Sterling of today was a completely different person.

After everything that had happened in her past life, Stella Sterling had long since lost any affection for them. She couldn’t care less what happened to them.

That was why none of her words could hurt Stella Sterling in the slightest.

Never mind that these words were coming from Yara Sterling. Even if her own parents said them to her face, she wouldn’t care in the least.

Stephen Lawrence, however, who was standing to the side, grew angry as he listened.

Now he understood. The two were indeed sisters, but they had a terrible relationship.

’Terrible’ was an understatement; they were like mortal enemies.

From their exchange, he could tell that his Master’s parents treated her terribly. It seemed they showed boundless favoritism toward the other one.

’No wonder the Master has never mentioned her family to us all these years.’

He had known for a while that his Master didn’t get along with her father.

He had assumed that aside from her father, she had no other relatives. That must be why, even after becoming so powerful, she never tried to find them and bring them to the base for protection.

Only now did he realize the truth. It wasn’t that his Master had no other family; it was that her family didn’t love her.

So, even though she had a family, she was effectively alone.

Thinking of his Master’s consistently ruthless demeanor, Stephen Lawrence suddenly felt a pang of understanding.

’When you have no one to love you, you have to become strong enough to protect yourself.’

He stared coldly at the woman across from them. She couldn’t hold a candle to his Master.

A person like that couldn’t compare to his Master in any way.

’I don’t know what’s wrong with their parents’ eyes. How could they prefer this piece of trash over our Master?’

’Those two must be complete fools, casting aside an outstanding daughter like the Master.’

’Besides, even if the Master weren’t so outstanding, they’re both their daughters. Shouldn’t they love them both equally?’

’How could they be so blatantly biased!’

Although their exchange had been brief, he could easily piece together how those parents must treat his Master on a daily basis.

And this woman, he guessed, probably used that fact to twist the knife in his Master’s heart all the time.

’It’s a good thing the Master is so mentally strong. Anyone else would have died of heartbreak.’

’Or maybe... maybe she’s not unhurt because she’s strong, but because she’s just gotten used to it. After experiencing it so many times, she’s just become numb.’

At this thought, a vicious glint appeared in Stephen Lawrence’s eyes. ’If the Master doesn’t kill this woman, I certainly won’t let her get away.’

’If the Master can’t bring herself to kill her own sister, then I’ll be the villain. I don’t care if she blames me for it later.’

’This is just too disgusting. Even I can’t stand it anymore.’

"Stella Sterling, you must be heartbroken right now, haha! You have to admit, it’s hilarious. No matter what you do, they’ll never love you. You’re their biological daughter, and yet they love me more."

"Are you done? Or would you like to keep going?"

Stella Sterling had someone bring her a chair. She sat down, looking as if she wanted to hear what else Yara Sterling had to say.

At that moment, Stephen Lawrence’s eyes went wide.

He already thought the situation was outrageous, but hearing this, it felt even more absurd.

He looked over at Stella Sterling, completely unable to understand how his Master could be so calm.

Yara Sterling was still lost in her delusions. "You don’t dare kill me, do you? You know that if you kill me, they will never, ever forgive you! You’ll never surpass me in their hearts!"

"I’ll give you some advice. If you treat me well now, I can put in a good word for you with Mom and Dad when we see them. Then we can all live happily as a family."

At this, Yara Sterling’s tone finally softened.

’Even though she didn’t know how Stella Sterling had managed it, she had to admit, Stella was somewhat useful now.’

’If Mom and Dad were here, they could make Stella work hard outside while the rest of the family continued to live a peaceful, stable life.’

Yara Sterling’s fantasy was a pleasant one, but unfortunately for her, Stella Sterling had no intention of playing along.

She just watched her calmly, without offering any comment.

Once the other woman was finished, she finally spoke. "You really are a product of their upbringing. Just as delusional as they are."

"You claim you know how much I hate you. So why didn’t you hide far away when you heard my name? Why insist on showing up in front of me? Aren’t you just asking to die?"

Yara Sterling’s heart trembled, but she refused to back down.

’She couldn’t believe Stella Sterling would actually kill her. The last two times, Stella had only made trouble for her, but she’d never tried to take her life.’

This only strengthened her conviction that Stella Sterling wouldn’t kill her.

’At worst, she’d just have to endure some hardship from Stella until they found their parents.’

’But as long as I survive, one day, I will pay Stella Sterling back for everything she has done to me.’

Stella Sterling crossed her legs and smiled. "The reason I didn’t kill you before was because I wanted to let you suffer a little more in this apocalypse."

"After all, it would be no fun if you died too easily. You must have suffered quite a bit these past few years, haven’t you?"

Yara Sterling didn’t answer. A jolt of panic shot through her, and a terrible premonition surfaced.

The premonition was incredibly strong. After surviving in the apocalypse for several years, she had learned a thing or two.

’I know that if I keep this up, something terrible might really happen.’

She’d lost her pride long ago, over these past few years.

It was only because she was unwilling to admit defeat in front of Stella Sterling that she had put on a tough act.

But now, faced with a choice between her pride and her life, she chose the latter without a second thought.

So she opened her mouth, about to say something.

But Stella Sterling cut her off. "You’ve suffered so much over the years. If they knew, they’d be heartbroken. So, as your big sister, let me end your suffering for you."

Yara Sterling’s mouth fell open. She realized what was happening and frantically tried to speak, but a sharp pain shot through her neck.

She looked down. The sight of her own blood filled her vision. Then, she collapsed to the ground, breathless.

Stephen Lawrence’s jaw dropped.

He had thought his Master wouldn’t actually kill her, but he’d clearly been mistaken.

Stella Sterling glanced at the body on the ground, her expression serene. Then she let out a short, scornful laugh and turned to leave.

’Hilarious. I already killed her once in my past life. Why would I be afraid to do it again?’

’The idea that I wouldn’t dare to kill her... what a joke...’
