Chapter 138: Jeremiah’s Observation
Max proceeded to Owen and Damian, mercilessly punching them in their cheeks, completely conquering them.
He halted and frowned.
He said in a dissatisfied tone, "You three didn’t even last a minute, much less than two hours.
How long of a break do you need?"
The Rangers could finally take a breath and regained their state of mind. They were filled with confusions.
Their Master’s action was completely out of their expectations.
Max stared at them and sighed.
He was genuinely disappointed.
When he summoned the Radiant Knights for the first time, despite showing the lack of coordination, they didn’t waver and managed to kill a B-rank Greater Demon.
Now, as he came to become familiar with them, he was a bit disappointed after their performance.
Max’s battle style had only just came recently after training the Neuromuscular Combat System in his new life.
In his past life, he still integrated the Neuromuscular Combat System, but mainly to improve his Mana Sensitivity and Mana Control.
From his understanding, the Neuromuscular Combat System enhanced the human component of spellcasting rather than the magical component.
The increased body control, reaction speed, respiratory regulation, and movement efficiency enabled him to perceive mana with greater clarity, manipulate it more precisely, and execute spells with greater consistency.
As a result, Max did not become a stronger mage in terms of raw mana or spell potency.
Instead, he became a more efficient mage—capable of producing the same magical effects with greater precision, less wasted effort, and improved performance under combat conditions.
This complements the philosophy of the foundation of Arcane Caster, whose mastery was measured not by overwhelming force but by refined control and technical execution.
In his past life, Max was an Ice Mage and became an Elementalist—purely a mage.
In this lifetime, he became a complete Arcane Caster and a Summoner. The former allowed him to fight with his new combat style, effectively reducing the fatal flaw of the latter.
Max didn’t fight in his new combat style abruptly, he trained with it even in real life with the help of visualization.
Although he expected to win against his Rangers by taking them with the element of surprise in his side, he didn’t anticipate them to reveal their disappointing flaws.
He turned towards Jeremiah who was as stunned as the Rangers and ignored his reaction, saying, "Did you observe the battle well? I need you to point out their flaws and help them correct it.
I will give you half an hour and we will continue."
Max already set him a deadline of formulating a training plan by tomorrow. For now, Jeremiah needed to act as a tactician, helping the Rangers to coordinate better with each other.
From the start, they lacked coordination. That small flaws stacked up, until they became overwhelming, allowing Max to seize the chance and subdue them.
Jeremiah snapped awake and hurriedly nodded to his Master.
As Max walked away from the training courtyard, Jeremiah ran towards the Rangers and began discussing with them.
It was more like a review of the quick battle.
While they were reviewing their battle, Max was meditating in a lotus position and quietly listening.
He was reviewing the battle, as well.
He acknowledged that the Rangers had not even activated their skills yet.
He did not give them a chance.
But Max already had an idea how to deal with them once they summoned their skills.
Hence, he was not worried and continued to meditate to restore his mana, while visualizing the next round of battle that was about to come.
After half an hour, Jeremiah bowed in front of his Master who was meditating.
He said in a polite and gentle tone, "Master, they are ready now."
Max nodded and stood up.
He said, "Hopefully, this time will last an hour straight."
Jeremiah was puzzled. He couldn’t understand the confidence of their Master.
In fact, during their discussion, the first question to be raised when he invited them for the review came from Damon.
"Jeremiah. Is Master supposed to fight that way?"
Jeremiah’s only response was. "I don’t know."
They didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Worst, they could still remember how their Master acted as though his action was ordinary and normal—something not to be surprised about.
A summoner engaging in a close-combat?
Defeating his summons, who were supposed to overwhelm him?
In fact, Jeremiah’s task to craft a training plan became even harder.
Their Master was unpredictable and he was supposed to train with Warriors and Rangers one at a time.
How was he supposed to craft a training plan for a limited time?
As the second round commenced, Jeremiah observed and was even more shocked than the first round.
Jeremiah had already pointed out what needed to be worked to the Rangers and suggested a lot of tactics to fight against their Master.
But their Master himself seemed to have listened and anticipated their actions.
That was Jeremiah’s first assumption, but he began to notice that his Master’s action originated more from his observation and intention rather than implementation from what he was supposed to be eavesdropping.
His spatial awareness is astonishing and his multitasking capacity is ridiculous.
He can perform difficult movements while multicasting.
Not only that, he remained consistent throughout.
Jeremiah’s eyes sparkled with admiration.
Their Master showed them that he was not vulnerable without his summons.
He only proved to them that he was stronger and could face them head-on.
In other words, they didn’t need to constantly worry in protecting their Master during battle, like they were against the Greater Demon.
Jeremiah was thrilled. With their Master’s surprising exceptional combat strength, their whole squad, including their Master, underwent an exaggerating change.
But Jeremiah felt pressured now. If their Master was almost invulnerable, what about him and the other supports?
He sighed inwardly.
In the end, the other knights still needed to protect us.
Jeremiah consoled himself. He believed that it would only be a matter of time that the whole squad including their Master was strong as long as they train with each other.
That’s Master’s goal all along, after all.
Jeremiah smiled, filled with relief.
He watched as the second round dragged on until he had to remind Master that they had to stop now, as it was now the Warrior’s turn...
