Chapter 297: Exposure of location

Seeing the woman had already turned into a stone statue, Hadden’s mind buzzed.

"I can’t believe it! What’s happening?!"

Hadden felt a creeping sensation on his scalp, and his whole body shivered with cold.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Just moments ago, the woman had been a vibrant, warm, and soft being. How did she turn into stone in an instant?

At that very moment, an eerily cold voice rang out.

"You thought I wouldn’t dare to come and kill you? Well, here I am!"

A man appeared before Hadden, silent as a ghost.

Hadden’s hair stood on end!

"Waldo! Is that you?!"

"It can’t be!"

Hadden couldn’t believe his eyes.

How could Waldo possibly be aboard the Brightstar? This was the headquarters of the Union of Gods! There were countless guards outside!

In an instant, countless questions flooded his mind. Then, his entire being was consumed by fear.

He was a formidable Level 60 Ruler, at the pinnacle of his power. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, he felt utterly powerless and terrified in front of Waldo.

"What have you done to her?" Hadden asked in a hoarse voice.

"Just a few little tricks! It doesn’t matter; you’ll be joining her soon enough!" Waldo replied with a cold smirk.

Then, a fiery spear appeared in his hand.

Pff!

Waldo’s speed was exceptionally fast. In his extreme fear, Hadden’s reactions were sluggish, and he couldn’t dodge. The spear pierced through his body, and he died a gruesome death on the spot.

Without even glancing at the corpse, Waldo turned and teleported away.

In no time, Waldo left the Brightstar and returned to the Invincible.

Throughout the whole process, nobody noticed Waldo’s presence.

"Waldo, what’s the situation? Did you find Hadden?" Calvert inquired.

Waldo nodded.

"I’ve already killed him. Don’t worry; next, we should proceed with our plan to deal with those warships."

Calvert nodded in agreement.

Prior to arriving at the Union of Gods’ lair, they had devised a series of detailed plans. This included assassinating Hadden and various matters afterward.

Soon, utilizing the advantage of stealth, the Invincible ship went into action at the Union’s stronghold.

Waldo activated stealth mode, carrying a large amount of explosives, and infiltrated each warship. He was ready to play a significant role.

Normally, in a direct confrontation, a single Invincible ship wouldn’t stand a chance against the Union of Gods. But who said you had to confront them head-on? As long as you can win, use any devious means necessary!

"Heh heh, as long as I give the order and detonate these explosives simultaneously, hundreds of warships will be blown up, creating a spectacular scene. Though it might not destroy the warships, it would temporarily incapacitate them, causing significant losses!" Waldo thought to himself.

Over the next two hours, Waldo spared no effort, hiding a large amount of explosives on each warship, prioritizing areas near the ships’ command centers.

This way, there was a chance to directly kill or injure some big fish.

"Heh heh, just wait, the real show is yet to come."

"You want to chase me down? Kill me? I can only say you’re overthinking it!"

However, the course of events took an unexpected turn for Waldo.

While he was placing explosives, someone went to the Brightstar to look for Hadden.

"I am the chief guard of the Alliance Leader. The Leader wants to summon Hadden the Controller and inquire about something. Where is Hadden now?" a tall survivor said. He was under Justin.

Faced with the inquiry, the guards on the Brightstar seemed somewhat hesitant.

"Our commanding officer is currently in his room, uh, dealing with some urgent matters. We don’t want to disturb him. May I ask what urgent matter the Alliance Leader has? Otherwise, if you can wait a moment, I can go and inform him?" Upon hearing this, the guard raised an eyebrow, seeming a bit displeased.

"You know what you’re saying? Make me wait? The Alliance Leader has urgent matters, and you expect me to wait? Pay attention to your position! Just do as I say immediately, right now, go and fetch Hadden!" the guard snapped. Unexpectedly, an ordinary survivor on the Brightstar dared to be dismissive of him.

And even made him wait?

Who did this person think he was?

He was Justin’s confidant!

His status was so high that even some Controllers had to treat him with respect and courtesy.

The guard didn’t dare to talk back; he could only nod repeatedly.

"Yes, yes, I’ll go inform our commanding officer right away."

He knew very well what Hadden was doing at this moment.

Being alone with the former leader’s woman, what else could they be doing?

Exactly because of this, he didn’t dare to disturb them easily.

Seeing what he shouldn’t see might end up with his eyes gouged out!

"Commanding officer, the Alliance Leader is looking for you!"

The guard quickly contacted Hadden.

However, for some reason, there was no response at all.

His heart sank instantly.

"Damn, now it’s really messed up. The commanding officer is completely ignoring me. What does that mean? It means the commanding officer is in the middle of something very intense!"

"If I barge in now, am I going to be killed on the spot? At the very least, I’m afraid they’ll gouge out my eyes!"

"Why the hell do I have to encounter something like this? It’s so damn uncomfortable!"

The guard was in a tough spot. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

He had no choice but to steel himself and go forward.

However, when he opened the door to the room, he suddenly froze.

What’s going on?

Seeing that the guard’s face was off, he quickly glanced inside.

Instantly, his face changed drastically!

Because he also saw the scene in the room.

Hadden’s body lay on the ground, blood spattered all over.

His face was filled with terror, as if he had encountered something horrifying.

"Oh no! Someone has infiltrated the Union headquarters! The Controller of the Brightstar has been assassinated!" flashed through the guard’s mind.

He quickly relayed this information to Justin.

Justin was both shocked and furious.

This was the headquarters of the Union of Gods!

Yet someone had managed to infiltrate and silently assassinate the Controller of the Brightstar!

This was a tremendous disgrace.

"Damn it! Who dares to infiltrate the Union of Gods and kill someone!" Justin’s face contorted in anger.

"Spread the order, everyone, enter a state of war readiness. We must find the assassin at all costs. I want to make sure he has no way to escape, nowhere to hide! He must die!" Justin was furious.

But misfortunes never come singly!

Regardless, this assassin had to die.

Otherwise, the Union of Gods would lose all face.

Soon, the Union of Gods went into a state of war, completely on high alert.

A massive number of troops were mobilized to search for the assassin.

"Not good, Hadden’s death has been discovered! Now, everyone in the Union of Gods is on the move!"

"We must leave immediately; otherwise, we’ll be blocked by the major warships on the way out."

"Although we can turn invisible, the ship’s movements still make noise. Even if we stay in one place and remain stationary, over time, we might be accidentally collided with by other warships. That won’t be good."

Waldo quickly realized the gravity of the situation.

While the Invincible ship could turn invisible, its movement made noise.

Even if they stayed in one place, they could still be accidentally collided with by other warships after a while.

At that point, it would be troublesome.

No matter how powerful the Invincible ship was, it couldn’t engage in battle with so many warships at the same time.

Thinking on his feet, Waldo immediately gave the order to leave before the enemy completely sealed off the sea routes.

After all, the explosives were already in place.

There were over sixty warships, and each one had at least two to three tons of explosives.

Once detonated, it would be a massive blow.

Nobody had anticipated that Waldo could stealthily reach their warships and covertly plant disguised explosives.

By the time they discovered it, it would at least be morning.

But by then, it would be too late.

The Invincible ship proceeded cautiously, avoiding making any significant noise to avoid detection, resulting in a slow sailing speed.

However, just as they were about to leave, they were still discovered, leaving a trace.

On one of the escort ships, several soldiers stood at the edge of the deck, observing the water’s surface to prevent anyone from leaving via the water.

At this moment, they noticed something unusual about the sea.

"Look, what’s going on? Why does it seem like something is moving on the water’s surface? Feels like a big creature, is it a whale?" one soldier exclaimed in surprise.

He saw many ripples on the sea’s surface, as if something was moving toward the outside.

And it seemed to be a massive creature.

However, upon closer inspection, they couldn’t see anything at all.

It was eerie and baffling, leaving them puzzled.

His companions, upon hearing this, also looked over.

"It does seem a bit off to me. This phenomenon appears to be caused by the movement of a warship. But there’s nothing ahead! Are you kidding? How could there be a warship?" one of them shook his head, looking serious.

"Something’s not right, I just have a feeling. Also, have any of you heard about something?"

"What thing?"

"Many say that Waldo possesses various abilities, including flight, teleportation, and more! And the warships he owns are very unique, capable of stealth!"

Regarding this statement, others were skeptical.

A stealth warship? That sounds too fake, impossible!

If you say it’s stealth from radar, I might believe it, after all, we have that too. But saying it’s a warship that can fool even human eyes, I absolutely don’t believe.

A warship is not a person.

After survivors gained abilities, being invisible is believable.

But a warship is different!

The volume of a warship is so huge; it’s impossible to possess such abilities.

Stealth?

Absolutely impossible.

"I’m not entirely sure, but there’s still a possibility. After all, I heard it from a friend, and this information has spread widely," one person hesitated, pondering the idea.

Then, one of the soldiers raised his rifle.

He fired a few rounds into the air in front of them.

"Regardless of whether it’s true or not, trying will reveal the truth, won’t it? If there’s a stealth warship ahead, we’ll find out something," one soldier said.

Before he could finish his sentence, everyone widened their eyes.

The bullets fired didn’t hit the water’s surface.

It was as if they struck some metallic object, and a faint sound of metal collision was heard.

Sparks even flew up.

But there was clearly nothing in front of them.

A stealth warship?

The soldiers were instantly wide-eyed, momentarily stunned.

It really was a stealth warship! Waldo has actually come to our headquarters?

In this moment, everyone felt a cold sweat breaking out all over their bodies.

Some were panicking.

With this revelation, the events of these days, including what happened tonight, suddenly had a plausible explanation.

The Union of Gods couldn’t find Waldo because his warship could turn invisible and hide its traces.

And Hadden’s murder was quite simple.

Waldo came all the way here to assassinate him for revenge!

In an instant, many things became clear to them.

Without time to think, they immediately passed on the message to their superiors!

However, just at that moment, several missiles suddenly appeared in front of them.

Boom!

In a massive burst of fire, a few of them were obliterated into fragments.
