Chapter 288: Grudge

Multiple Waldos wielded their Critical Strike Warrior Blades, attacking the sea monster in various parts, sticking to it like lice tightly attached to its body. No matter how the sea monster tried to evade, it couldn’t shake them off.

Additionally, Waldo could stay underwater for nearly an hour or two without needing to surface for air. Consequently, he became a nightmare for the sea monster.

Numerous Waldos attacked, biting at the sea monster like lice. The sea monster could only feel the increasing discomfort in its body. It rolled more vigorously, attempting to shake off the pests clinging to its body.

Splashing waves roared and crashed against the ship, creating a turbulent sea. The sea monster’s agitated movements made the sea surface boil.

Witnessing this scene, the survivors speculated and questioned what was happening. "What’s going on? Why is the sea monster suddenly thrashing about like it’s gone crazy?"

"Who knows? Maybe you should go down and see for yourself?"

"Phew, that sea monster scared me just now! Thankfully, if it had hit a few more times, I don’t know if the Dawn Noah’s Ark could have held on!"

"Wait, maybe someone is dealing with this sea monster. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be acting like this."

"Someone’s taking action? That’s unlikely. Who would dare to mess with such a dangerous sea monster? Wouldn’t that be like tickling it?"

"Yeah, it’s totally unrealistic!"

The people chatted in their group, expressing their thoughts. During the crucial moment of the sea monster’s attacks, they had immediately taken shelter inside the ship’s cabin, avoiding the tragic fate of falling into the sea and being devoured by the sea monster. However, they also didn’t witness Waldo diving into the ocean, so they found it hard to believe.

Yet, not long after, they were proven wrong. Someone noticed that there was actually a person on the sea monster. Moreover, this person was very familiar to them – their leader, Waldo!

The survivors on the Dawn Noah’s Ark had varied reactions, their faces showing a mix of shock and relief.

"It’s Waldo? My goodness, Waldo actually went after the sea monster regardless of his own safety! No wonder the sea monster seemed to be acting crazy. It was Waldo!" exclaimed one survivor.

"Waldo is invincible!" another person exclaimed, deeply impressed by Waldo’s bravery.

However, Waldo was unaware of their admiration. His focus was entirely on the sea monster, giving it his all to inflict damage. Finally, his efforts paid off.

The sea monster couldn’t bear the pain and frantically rolled, swimming towards deeper waters, eventually driving the sea monster away.

Waldo let out a long sigh of relief and returned to the Dawn Noah’s Ark, drenched and feeling exhausted. Despite this, a faint smile graced his lips.

At this moment, Alanna and Helen ran over. Alanna used a healing ability on him, and instantly, Waldo felt a surge of replenished strength coursing through him. His entire body quickly returned to its peak state.

"Waldo, how are you?" Alanna asked.

Waldo exhaled and replied, "I drove the sea monster away, but we can’t relax. We need to remain vigilant at all times because we don’t know if the sea monster will return."

As he finished speaking, Helen’s face suddenly changed, and she pointed into the distance, saying, "Look! It, it, it’s back again!"

Far away, the sea churned, and massive waves surged.

Without a second thought, they knew it was the same sea monster that had turned and come back.

Waldo’s expression shifted to one of concern, but this time, he didn’t go into the water to confront the sea monster. Instead, he immediately issued orders to the fully prepared warships.

"Prepare to launch! We must repel the sea monster!" Waldo instructed.

"Don’t worry, Waldo!" Calvert assured.

Subsequently, almost simultaneously, the various warships launched several torpedoes.

Boom!

The torpedoes were indeed effective.

The impact on the sea monster caused parts of its skin and flesh to be blasted to pieces, resulting in a bloody mess. While these wounds seemed inconsequential to the sea monster and appeared trivial, they did cause it considerable pain.

The sea monster was immediately infuriated. Despite its seemingly inconspicuous intelligence, it knew that the humans on the ship were attacking it. It promptly increased its speed and swam towards the Dawn Noah’s Ark, seeking revenge.

However, as it approached, the intensity of the attacks it faced grew more and more relentless. In no time, it was covered in blood, its skin and flesh torn open from the relentless bombardment. Eventually, it couldn’t endure any longer and let out a furious roar.

Afterward, it turned and swam away, heading into the boundless depths of the ocean.

Only when they were certain the sea monster had truly retreated did Waldo finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"It’s finally gone! This sea monster is just too massive and has incredibly thick skin. I couldn’t handle it. Even with torpedoes launched at great cost, at most, we could have caused some skin and flesh wounds. It’s impossible to deliver a fatal blow!" Waldo explained.

"If it hadn’t voluntarily retreated, we would’ve been helpless. Once entangled, our ships would have been in serious danger!" Alanna and Helen nodded gravely.

They understood this predicament all too well. It was truly a headache.

At that moment, a subordinate with a grim expression hurried over and reported, "Waldo, it’s bad. The Ark is leaking due to the recent hit by the sea monster."

Waldo raised an eyebrow. "Is it serious?"

"It could have been worse. Our crew can fix it, but it will take some time. If we face another attack from the sea monster during this period, not only will our previous efforts be in vain, but we may also sink!"

Waldo considered for a moment and said, "Start the repairs. The safety of the Dawn Noah’s Ark is paramount. If the Dawn Noah sinks, survival for all of you would be extremely challenging. Don’t worry about the sea monster; I have a plan to deal with it."

"Yes," the subordinate breathed a sigh of relief. Waldo’s words reassured him.

Subsequently, Waldo issued orders to the heads of various warships.

"Tonight, nobody is allowed to sleep. Monitor the movements of the sea monster closely for me!"

"Helicopters, take off and maintain 24-hour surveillance of the surrounding sea area. Be on alert for the appearance of the sea monster."

"All warships, spread out around the Dawn Noah, maintaining a certain distance. If the sea monster appears, don’t report—just open fire. Understand?"

After issuing the orders, Waldo turned to Helen and said, "Helen, inform Titan Orca. If you detect any signs of the sea monster approaching, let me know immediately! Titan Orca is an orca and should have a special sensitivity to the sea monster, making it easier for us to detect its proximity."

"Understood!" Helen nodded solemnly.

Soon, she established contact with Titan Orca and entrusted the task to it.

Titan Orca had returned after the sea monster retreated earlier.

When the sea monster had appeared, it had nearly frightened Titan Orca out of its wits. This creature, which usually liked to flaunt its power and act invincible, had surprisingly shown fear and fled faster than anyone else.

Expecting it to deal with the sea monster was unrealistic, but having it monitor the sea monster’s movements was a feasible plan.

That night was destined to be a sleepless one. Many people couldn’t sleep.

Because they were very worried about the sea monster suddenly returning. If it happened while they were deeply asleep, they might not even know how they died. The sea monster’s unexpected visit had brought back the tension that Dawn Noah had experienced for several months. An atmosphere of unease pervaded.

Fortunately, they had Waldo. Even if the sea monster was powerful, they had strong confidence in him.

The sea surface seemed to regain its former calm. At this moment, a ray of sunlight appeared on the horizon. It looked like dawn was approaching. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Many people on the Dawn Noah breathed a sigh of relief. The night had passed, and daylight was coming.

However, Waldo, Alanna, and Helen had unusually grim expressions, as if facing a formidable enemy. They had just received word from Titan Orca that the sea monster, which had already departed, seemed to have turned back!

Sure enough, not long after, the helicopters in the sky issued a warning. Immediately, alarms blared on the Dawn Noah.

"What’s going on? What happened? Could the sea monster have returned? Didn’t it just leave not long ago?!"

"That damned sea monster! Is it trying to pick a fight with us? We didn’t attack it, so why is it coming back to trouble us? Damn it!"

"Everyone, quickly return to the cabins. It’s best to find a place to secure ourselves and prevent from being thrown out. Otherwise, it could be dangerous."

"Yes, I got a head injury earlier."

"We shouldn’t worry too much. We should trust Waldo; he must have a way to deal with this!"

The Dawn Noah was in chaos.

At the same time, Waldo issued combat orders to the various warships.

"The sea monster is approaching; prepare for battle!"

Shortly after, the sea monster approached the defensive formation formed by the warships. Waldo had already arrived on the Invincible Ship, taking command from Calvert. As the sea monster drew nearer, he gave the order.

"Open fire!"

With that command, the Invincible Ship, Flame Ship, and another destroyer all launched torpedoes!

After hitting the sea monster, it slowed down slightly.

"No, the sea monster will be here soon. We need to lead it away," Waldo said.

Then, Waldo ordered the Invincible Ship to exit stealth mode. The Invincible Ship, now visible, sailed to the front, drawing the sea monster’s attention. It launched torpedoes and shells, hitting the sea monster repeatedly.

The sea monster was thoroughly enraged. Watching this, Waldo felt a slight sense of relief. The developments were all within his plan.

This location was too close to the Dawn Noah, and they needed to find an uninhabited area to deal with the sea monster. Patience was crucial.

Clearly, the sea monster had developed a grudge against them. Regardless, this sea monster had to be killed; leaving it alive would be inviting endless trouble.

There were still heavy weapons available, such as various types of missiles. These weapons had significant destructive power and needed to be used at a distance from other ships to avoid friendly fire.

At this moment, Waldo was filled with an overwhelming intent to kill. He understood that the sea monster had grown resentful of them. Simply repelling it would bring no peace.

They needed to find a way to permanently deal with this sea monster. Even if they couldn’t kill it, they had to make it pay a heavy price. They wanted the sea monster to know that the Dawn Noah wasn’t to be trifled with. Provoking them would come at a great cost.

So, Waldo ordered the Invincible Ship to continue attacking the sea monster. Meanwhile, they moved away from the Dawn Noah and the other warships, heading into the vast depths of the open sea.
