Chapter 246: After the disaster

Several days later, peace returned to the world. The dark clouds in the sky dissipated, and the massive waves on the sea gradually calmed.

The continent had completely succumbed to the ocean, becoming nothing more than a memory.

From that point onward, the survivors entered a new era—the Era of the Oceans.

The super tsunami had been an unprecedented catastrophe. Half of the survivors had tragically perished. For those fortunate enough to secure passage on ships and survive, they felt a sense of rebirth after narrowly escaping death.

In these days, Waldo’s life had become somewhat monotonous, a stark contrast to his experiences in the Eastern Eight District. Back then, everyone had been constantly strategizing and battling zombies, and there had never been a shortage of things to do.

Now, Waldo felt that he had too much free time. Each day seemed to blend into the next, filled with carefree moments spent with the two women. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"No, I can’t go on like this! Even though we’ve just survived a tremendous disaster, no one can predict what will happen next!" Waldo reminded himself one day, resolute in his determination to turn over a new leaf.

However, the very next day, Waldo found himself merrily frolicking with the two women again. This pattern continued for several days, and it wasn’t until he felt completely drained that he had a moment to reflect on his current situation.

Since the sinking of the continent and the arrival of the Era of the Oceans, Waldo and everyone else had been living with a profound sense of having narrowly escaped catastrophe.

On the second day of the disaster, almost everyone had been celebrating, and the atmosphere on the Noah’s Ark had been as festive as a holiday.

Among the survivors aboard the Noah’s Ark, one of Waldo’s neighbors, a man named Silva, had gained considerable popularity. Despite his fierce appearance, Waldo had gradually come to understand him during their days together.

Primarily, it was because of his formidable strength. At level 60, he was a powerful force to be reckoned with. Moreover, he had a particularly affable personality, devoid of arrogance, and could easily get along with anyone. Consequently, on the Noah’s Ark, Silva had quickly gathered a substantial following.

There was even a growing trend around Silva, forming a new power bloc. Besides Silva, there were three other survivors who possessed first-level tickets. These three survivors were a bit different—they hailed from other countries.

Without a doubt, all three of them were level 60 powerhouses. Only individuals of this caliber deserved to hold first-level tickets. In recent days, they had leveraged their strength and influence on the Noah’s Ark to build alliances and factions.

Subtly, there was a sense of a three-way power balance emerging among them. Compared to the other four active level 60 survivors, Waldo had been keeping a low profile these days, consistent with his usual style. He preferred not to stand out unless absolutely necessary.

As a result, there were few people who knew much about him, even though they were all level 60. Apart from Silva, others had little knowledge of Waldo. Some had even nearly forgotten about his existence.

In these days, Waldo rarely ventured outside. Before the super tsunami struck, he had been either hunting zombies or vying for a ticket, constantly on the move. After an extended period of high tension, relaxation was needed.

Therefore, during this time, he lavished attention on the two women in his life.

Even a hint of indulgence seemed to creep in. It appeared that anyone blessed with two stunning beauties like Alanna and Helen would be tempted to linger in the land of tenderness and never wake up. Fortunately, one day, Waldo finally came to his senses.

He felt utterly exasperated. "Women only slow me down when I’m trying to swing my sword," he muttered.

Alanna and Helen looked at him with puzzled expressions and then exchanged glances before charging toward Waldo, their faces contorted with anger.

"You want to say that again?" Alanna bared her teeth, her expression menacing. "What do you mean women slow you down? That’s completely unreasonable! It’s you who’s being excessively demanding and ignoring our resistance. Now you’re blaming us?"

"I absolutely can’t stand for this!" Alanna decided she needed to teach Waldo a lesson and wouldn’t let him off easily.

Helen, standing in a strategic position, also let out a snort and glared at Waldo. She seemed afraid he might try to escape.

Seeing this, Waldo quickly relented. He hadn’t expected that, despite his achievements in defeating level four and five zombies as if they were nothing, he would easily succumb to the pressure from these two women.

"I’m sorry! Whatever you want, I agree. I won’t resist," Waldo said in a resigned tone.

"Why did I have to open my mouth?" he lamented silently. Now he had offended both of these fierce women. There would be no easy way out for him.

Waldo let out a quiet sigh and gave up resisting.

However, this incident was just a minor episode. After some playful banter, everything returned to normal. Regarding their future plans, the three of them began to make detailed arrangements.

Waldo spoke, "The Dawn Ark, where we currently are, is still in a shallow water area. After all, this place used to be land, and we’re still quite far from the deep waters. So, there aren’t any formidable sea monsters around, and we’re currently very safe. However, safety doesn’t mean we can be complacent. We need to be prepared for anything, and experience points are crucial no matter when or where. So, we must figure out a way to gain more experience points. At the very least, we need to raise your levels to sixty. When that happens, our overall strength will take a significant leap."

Hearing this, the two women nodded slowly. They were well aware of the importance of this.

Currently, the highest level was only sixty. If both of them reached that level, their strength would increase dramatically. At least, on the Dawn Ark, they would be able to dominate.

However, Alanna couldn’t help but ask, "The problem is, there are no zombies at sea. How are we supposed to gain experience points?"
