Chapter 86: Chapter 84: Raging Waves

The moment their eyes shifted, Jiang Si knew what they were thinking.

Jiang Si suddenly laughed and walked up to Shen Fu. "You’re really going to take care of me?"

Shen Fu thought Jiang Si had fallen for it. Concealing his excitement, he said, "Of course. Your uncle has connections at the base. I guarantee you’ll live a good life, and I can even find you a good partner to take care of you from now on."

A chill ran down Jiang Si’s spine. Lu Zhifeng and Niu Niu frowned deeply as they watched Shen Fu’s disgusting expression.

It was obvious the man meant her harm.

’And with such clumsy acting, he actually thought he could fool someone.’

Jiang Si’s smile deepened. Just as Shen Fu rubbed his hands together, about to tell her to help move the jet ski, a resounding "SLAP—" echoed as Jiang Si violently struck him across the face.

He stood there, stunned and motionless, completely unable to process it. ’Jiang Si actually hit him.’

Seeing her husband get hit, Sun Xiu’s expression turned savage. She lunged to tear at Jiang Si’s hair, but Jiang Si grabbed both her hands and shoved her hard to the ground.

Jiang Si pinned Shen Fu under her foot, as if crushing a leech writhing in its death throes. "Still want to take care of me? Still want to find me a partner?"

Shen Fu finally understood that Jiang Si was no pushover. He started screaming curses, "You shameless mutt! I’m your uncle! You’ll be struck by lightning for treating me like this!"

Jiang Si stomped on his foot. The sound of bones cracking echoed, just like in her past life when she had personally flayed the flesh from their bones to avenge Shen Baoying.

’These two scumbags don’t deserve to live.’

Jiang Si’s bloodshot eyes and vicious expression startled Lu Zhifeng. She looked like someone trapped in a nightmare, on the verge of madness.

He quickly called out to her, "Jiang Si! Jiang Si! We have to get back to the boat, quickly!"

Jiang Si snapped back to her senses, belatedly realizing she had just been lost in a trance.

’The memories from my past life had almost driven me mad.’

Jiang Si took a deep breath and kicked Shen Fu aside. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Gunshots suddenly rang out from behind them. Niu Niu shrieked in terror and shrank into Lu Zhifeng’s arms.

Jiang Si whipped her head around to see a dozen or so people charging toward them.

They were outnumbered and armed. For a moment, even Jiang Si didn’t dare to make a rash move.

Shen Fu and Sun Xiu, nearly scared to death, quickly raised their hands. "You can have it all! Everything! Just don’t kill us, don’t kill us!"

To get revenge on Jiang Si and increase his own chances of survival, Shen Fu pointed at her. "This is my niece! You can have her, too! She’ll do whatever you say, she’ll be obedient. If she tries to run, feel free to teach her a lesson. Don’t mind me."

Lu Zhifeng had never seen such a vile piece of scum. He glared at Shen Fu, wishing he could be the one to put a bullet in his head for Jiang Si.

Jiang Si had been hesitating. ’Should Shen Fu and Sun Xiu pay for the sins of their past lives, for things they haven’t yet done in this one?’

But it was clear: a dog will always go back to its shit.

Jiang Si discreetly pulled out a grenade, preparing to catch them off guard and blow them all to kingdom come.

Suddenly, the sky and the ground began to rumble. In a flash of red light, the entire world was illuminated.

"Meteorite!"

The word was barely out when a meteorite fragment, by sheer coincidence, landed right on top of the dozen or so men.

The fragment had looked no bigger than a palm from a distance, but the reality of it was half the size of a basketball court.

In an instant, the men vanished, like the monkey king crushed beneath the Five Finger Mountain.

Shen Fu and Sun Xiu had just scrambled to their feet and taken a few steps when molten slag from the meteorite splattered onto them. A SIZZLING sound, like meat on a charcoal grill, accompanied their sky-piercing screams.

Jiang Si reacted in a flash, hopping on the jet ski and shouting to Niu Niu and Lu Zhifeng, "Get on! Now!"

Lu Zhifeng, holding Niu Niu, had barely settled in when Jiang Si gunned the jet ski, shooting forward with a WHOOSH.

Niu Niu and Lu Zhifeng held on for dear life as a tremendous BOOM erupted behind them.

They all looked back to see another meteorite fragment slam down right where they had just been, shattering the coastline and kicking up a massive wave that bore down on them.

Jiang Si pushed the throttle to its limit, but she could still feel the churning wave, like a giant net about to capsize them.

Luckily, she was on the best model of jet ski; it was heavy and stable. After powering steadily through the wave, they saw Qin Shen approaching in a yacht to pick them up.

Everyone pulled Lu Zhifeng and Niu Niu aboard first. The instant Jiang Si pushed the jet ski up, another meteorite fragment plummeted from the sky and plunged straight into the sea. It threw up enormous white crests, and the scalding temperature instantly turned the seawater red as it boiled and bubbled furiously.

The white steam and the fiery red, constantly falling meteorites created a scene that was both terrifying and magnificent.

Everyone was panicking, but fortunately, Qin Shen was an excellent pilot. They managed to narrowly avoid every falling meteorite, each escape a close call.

But the violently rocking yacht and the schools of fish floating belly-up to the surface meant no one could relax for even a second.

Jiang Linhai asked Jiang Si, "Where are we going now?"

Jiang Si looked up at the sky. Rumbling still echoed constantly through their area, and red streaks falling across the horizon proved that nowhere nearby was safe.

For a moment, it felt as if there wasn’t a single safe place left in the entire world.

"BOOM—"

Before Jiang Si could answer, another enormous meteorite fragment fell from the sky, crashing into the water not far ahead of their yacht.

The resulting wave slammed into them, sending everyone in the cabin crashing into the walls.

If not for Jiang Si’s foresight—padding the cabin walls and removing all hard objects—that last impact would have surely caused brain hemorrhages.

Before anyone could recover, the yacht was rocked by a second impact. Jiang Si roared, "Fasten your seatbelts! Now!"

The words were barely out of her mouth when—"BANG!"

A massive wave shattered the cabin window, and the temperature inside instantly shot up.

Jiang Si got to her feet and saw that the falling meteorites had caused the entire sea to boil.

The water was as hot as a boiling kettle.

Even if the yacht wasn’t capsized by the waves, the sustained high water temperature would damage the engine. The vessel would become inoperable at the worst possible moment.

Jiang Si’s brow furrowed. She made a split-second decision and ran to the cockpit. "We need to make landfall," she told Qin Shen. "Right, head for the island!"

The island wasn’t safe either—a meteorite could strike at any moment—but at least there they might have a chance to escape by helicopter.

Qin Shen gave a slight nod. With Jiang Si’s help, he fought to control the yacht, powering through the scalding waves toward the small island.

Jiang Si prayed the entire way for the island to be spared. Mercifully, it seemed the heavens were listening, and they finally made it ashore safely.

Jiang Si stored the yacht in her dimensional space, only to turn and be alerted by Qin Shen, "The water level is rising."

Jiang Si started in shock. She now saw that the already small island was half-submerged.
