Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Good Technique

Jiang Si was taken aback. It was a definite possibility.

Some swans, hatched and raised in captivity, just can’t fly properly.

’If that’s really the case, Little Chun and the others will probably have a hard time accepting it.’

They were meant to be the hegemons of the Cangqiong, yet they could only live like chickens.

Watching them, Jiang Si suddenly regretted her selfish decision to hatch and raise them.

But what was done was done. All she could do was see if there were any other options.

Jiang Si found Qin Shen repairing the transport vehicle. "Shen, do me a favor."

Qin Shen put down his tools and stood up. "Alright."

A moment later, Qin Shen was standing in front of Little Chun, feeling its wings, back, and spine.

After finishing his examination, Qin Shen offered his preliminary conclusion. "There shouldn’t be any major issues. It just needs to fly a few more times."

Jiang Si breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, that’s great news."

Jiang Si patted their heads. "Don’t worry, you’ll all be able to fly. Just try a few more times. Don’t rush it."

Suddenly, Qin Shen added, "Or maybe the flight altitude is wrong. For a first flight, they need to learn how to master the air currents. Vulture nests are usually very high up."

Jiang Si nodded. "That could be the reason."

She glanced at the mountain peak they were on and said, "If they still can’t fly in another two days, let’s take them to the summit and have them try from there."

"Okay."

Besides practicing their flying in the snow, the little vultures’ natural instincts also led them to chase the monkeys, scaring them into squawking and screeching.

Of course, they were just scaring them for fun. If they actually dared to use their beaks, they’d get a couple of sharp smacks for it.

Jiang Si loved them, but she didn’t spoil them.

She was still very clear about her original purpose.

The Monkey King directed his troop to bring over ten logs.

Qin Shen had just finished repairing the transport vehicle when he rushed over to chop wood.

As he raised his axe to chop the wood, Jiang Si was suddenly reminded of Wu Gang in the Guanghan Palace.

She couldn’t help but smile. Qin Shen glanced at her. "What are you smiling at?"

Jiang Si shook her head. "Nothing. Just smiling at how cute you are."

Qin Shen actually replied with a perfectly straight face, "Not as cute as you."

This only made Jiang Si’s smile widen.

Qin Shen’s chopping—WHACK, WHACK, WHACK—was so smooth and fluid that Jiang Linhai, watching from the side, began to wonder, ’Does Qin Shen really not have a Great Strength Skill superpower?’

Meanwhile, the others who knew Qin Shen had a superpower exchanged looks of knowing confirmation.

Bo Xi, on the other hand, felt a wave of relief. ’Thank goodness I can control insects to help out. Otherwise, compared to the seemingly omnipotent Qin Shen, I’d just be a useless freeloader.’

Qin Shen chopped the logs to a uniform size. Everyone else stopped what they were doing to help put up the fence first.

This would keep the moose from wandering too far off and having to be chased down.

By the time they finished all this, it was almost evening.

Shen Baoying and Zhang Qingfang went to make dinner.

Jiang Si went to the monitoring room, while Qin Shen went to give Bobby a bath.

Over the past few days, he had started to understand Qin Shen’s instructions.

As for using the toilet, after a few mistakes, he was finally able to sit properly on the toilet to do his business, then press the button to flush it all away.

But he had also developed a bad habit: kneeling by the toilet and scooping up water to drink.

Qin Shen had told him off several times, but he hadn’t managed to break the habit yet.

His intelligence seemed to be at a toddler’s level; he could only be taught slowly, step by step.

Previously, Qin Shen had always used a prepared washtub to bathe Bobby.

Since Bobby tended to get poop all over himself, the washtub was more convenient to clean.

This time, he didn’t bring the washtub. Instead, he ran water in the bathtub and gestured for Bobby to get in on his own.

Bobby was very wary of unfamiliar things; even the sight of water spraying from the shower head frightened him.

When Qin Shen called him over, he actually took several steps back.

After filling the tub, Qin Shen simply picked him up and placed him in it.

The pleasant water temperature seemed to surprise Bobby.

He quieted down again once he was sitting in the water.

Seeing the dense cluster of burn scars on his back, Qin Shen’s movements became much gentler as he scrubbed him clean.

Bobby’s hair was waist-length. If one didn’t look closely, he could be mistaken for a little girl.

Qin Shen thought about giving him a haircut but decided against it for now, worried it might upset him.

By the time the bath was over, Shen Baoying had dinner ready.

The food brought for him was the same as everyone else’s, but with an extra serving of spaghetti.

Everyone had noticed that the child seemed to prefer Western food.

So, Shen Baoying had thoughtfully prepared it just for him.

Eating was probably Bobby’s favorite activity.

He had learned to use a fork, twirling the spaghetti bit by bit before putting it in his mouth, but he still chewed very quickly.

He finished the hearty dinner in about five minutes.

Qin Shen wiped his mouth, cleared the dishes, and left the room.

Bobby suddenly grabbed his sleeve, showing a hint of attachment.

He was starting to trust Qin Shen.

Qin Shen asked him, "Do you want to go out?"

Bobby just looked at him without speaking.

Qin Shen said, "Say something, and I’ll take you out."

Bobby didn’t speak. In the end, Qin Shen still left the room, leaving the boy all alone.

Jiang Si could see that he was a little sad.

When Qin Shen met up with her, she said, "Bobby’s progress is clearly much faster than before."

Qin Shen nodded. "He is, but it’s still not enough to let him out. He can’t control his emotions and could suddenly lash out and hurt someone."

"Mm, let’s take it slow."

After dinner, Jiang Si entered her space and harvested some of the vegetables and fruits she had recently planted.

No one else could enter the space, so she had to do everything with her own two hands.

Don’t be fooled by the few levels of land; just picking the fruit was enough to completely exhaust her.

When Jiang Si emerged from her space, two and a half hours had already passed.

Qin Shen had been waiting for her the whole time.

Jiang Si brought out a basket of freshly picked strawberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers and placed it in front of Qin Shen. "I’ve already washed them. Go ahead and eat."

Qin Shen picked up a bright red strawberry and fed it to her, then gently pushed her onto the bed and began to give her a practiced massage.

Jiang Si closed her eyes in enjoyment. Only after she had completely swallowed the strawberry did she say, "So sweet. Of course they are, I grew them myself."

Qin Shen said, "If you’re tired, then plant less."

Jiang Si laughed. "But then the space would go to waste. And if something unexpected happens, it’s good to have a stash."

"Mm, then you can just keep being tired, and I’ll help you relieve it."

Jiang Si was about to glare at him, but his last sentence made her laugh instead. "Not bad, Comrade Xiao Shen. I think your technique is getting better and better."

Qin Shen gave a meaningful smile. "Actually, my technique is good in all areas."

Jiang Si was left speechless.

"Go to sleep!"

「A night passed, and a new day began.」

Today was the day Zhang Aihua and the others could finally pull up their one and only remaining giant radish.

Everyone was looking forward to it.

They even went out of their way to find some red cloth strips and create a "radish-pulling ribbon-cutting ceremony."

Zhang Yiwen stood off to the side with their hands on their hips, watching. They’d probably never imagined that the others could be this dramatic.

The giant radish was truly massive. The original plan was to have the strongest person pull it out in one go.

But every attempt failed.

In the end, they had no choice but to use shovels to dig it up.

A radish one meter tall and half a meter wide was finally revealed to everyone. They would save it for propagation, so that next time, they could all have a radish feast.
