Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Healing System Little Princess

"Brother Gu Chen, I’m a Healing Ability User. Let me try," the woman said again in a soft voice, walking quickly toward them.

Gu Chen and Lu Wei both took a step back at the same time, their lips tightening as they glanced at the young woman.

Zhang Biyun maintained a smile on her face, gave the two an elegant nod, and walked past them.

Yu Tianfeng, wearing a look of pure curiosity and sporting a messy mop of hair, leaned in closer. "You said you’re with the Healing System? Is that the kind of healing I’m thinking of?"

Zhang Biyun frowned and glanced at the slovenly man, secretly suppressing the look of disgust in her eyes.

"Yes. Let me give it a try. I think I can do it." Zhang Biyun glanced behind her, and a young maid immediately ran forward to spread a clean, soft wool cushion on the ground beside Master Zhu.

The maid handed her a pair of dark blue protective gloves.

Zhang Biyun took the gloves and put them on, then knelt on one knee on the wool cushion and took the man’s left hand.

"Papa," sobbed Zhu Nanxing, who was standing beside the two women.

Zhang Biyun paid him no mind, merely lifting her head slightly. She tightened her grip on Master Zhu’s hand and began to channel her healing energy into him, bit by bit.

As the seconds and minutes ticked by, the color indeed began to return to Master Zhu’s face.

Meanwhile, large beads of sweat started to form on Zhang Biyun’s forehead.

"Miss," the maid said, squatting beside her and looking at her nervously.

"I’m fine. I can hold on a little longer," Zhang Biyun said through gritted teeth. Even though a prickly, needle-like sensation was starting in her head, she continued to steadily pour her energy into Master Zhu.

The maid was moved beyond words. "Miss, you’re truly the kindest person in the world."

Squatting to the side, Yu Tianfeng ruined the moment by bursting out laughing...

Everyone’s gazes silently turned to him.

Yu Tianfeng suddenly felt his actions were quite uncouth. He quickly waved his hand and said to the maid, who was glaring at him, "Sorry, sorry. Please, continue."

Zhang Biyun took a deep breath and collapsed onto the wool cushion, panting heavily.

At that moment, Master Zhu, who had been lying on the ground, suddenly let out a "COUGH COUGH" and weakly opened his eyes.

The surrounding crowd was stunned by Zhang Biyun’s display. Their eyes lit up, and they began whispering amongst themselves.

"Did she really heal him?"

"Wow, what an amazing Healing Ability. Who is this young lady?"

"I think she’s the daughter of our new base commander, isn’t she?"

"Miss." The maid reached out to help her mistress up but was stopped by a sharp glare.

The maid immediately understood. She turned and pitifully appealed to Gu Chen for help. "Captain Gu, could you please help our miss? She seems to have overused her superpower."

Gu Chen felt the hairs on his neck stand up at the two women’s address, and he instinctively took a step back.

Just then, the naturally comical Yu Tianfeng stood up to break the awkwardness.

He waved urgently to two people in white lab coats off to the side. "Hey, you two, come on over. Take this lady to the infirmary and get her on a glucose drip."

Everyone: ...

The maid instantly flew into a rage, glaring at the white-coated man who looked like he hadn’t washed his face in eight years. "Who are you calling ’ma’am’?!"

Yu Tianfeng was taken aback, completely baffled as to why he was being yelled at.

’Wasn’t he just trying to be nice?’

Lu Wei silently facepalmed and turned away, trying to hold back his laughter.

"Hey, you two, over here, over here! Help her away." Yu Tianfeng was still waving over his colleagues in their white coats.

"Ma’am, you really didn’t need to go to all this trouble," he said sincerely as he squatted down to check Master Zhu’s condition. "After CPR, we just needed to get him to the infirmary for a saline and glucose drip. He’d recover quickly."

"There was no need for you to waste so much of your superpower and make yourself turn so pale."

Yu Tianfeng’s little assistant and follower was right there beside the doctor, nodding his head repeatedly in agreement.

Zhang Biyun was furious with the two of them.

Especially the one in the dirty-faced white coat, who kept calling her ’ma’am’ again and again. It made her skin crawl!

Dr. Wei hurried over and quickly pulled Yu Tianfeng back. "Dr. Yu, that’s enough."

He looked at the two women on the ground; they looked like they wanted to lunge forward and tear a piece of flesh off Xiao Yu...

’That kid Xiao Yu is really... too good at offending people!’

’No wonder people want to beat him up wherever he goes!’

’He’s a classic case of high IQ, low EQ. If we don’t protect him properly, he’ll get beaten to death on the street one day with no one to even collect his body.’

"Alright, alright, stop crowding around and gawking," an administrator maintaining order stepped forward with a bullhorn to disperse the crowd. "Get back to what you were doing. Gates One and Two are for new arrival registration. Gate Four is specifically for registering Superpower Users."

"Miss Bi Yun?" The administrator saw Zhang Biyun sitting collapsed on the wool cushion and hurried forward to help her up. "What’s happened here?"

"The miss saved a passerby and overexerted her superpower."

"Oh my, Miss Bi Yun, how could you be so careless? Quick, let me help you up."

Zhang Biyun secretly gritted her teeth in frustration.

Seeing that Gu Chen and his group had no intention of helping her up, while the two grimy men in white coats were trying to push through to help her, she quickly said, "I don’t need your help. I can walk on my own."

She stood up, leaning on the hands of her maid and the administrator, her face a little pale and her legs even trembling slightly.

Dr. Wei, playing the part of a peacemaker, smiled and nodded at her. "Thank you for your righteous assistance, madam."

Yu Tianfeng, still squatting by Master Zhu, waved to a young soldier nearby. "His dehydration is a bit better now. Let him sip some water, then carry him back to the infirmary."

The woman holding the two children had a grateful expression and nodded her thanks to them repeatedly. "Thank you, thank you so much."

"Ma’am, please take the children to queue for registration first. We will take this gentleman to the base infirmary. After you finish registering for him as well, you can go visit him there."

"Okay, okay." The woman nodded repeatedly, taking the boy’s hand and speaking gently, "Nanxing, don’t be scared. Come queue with Auntie. After we finish registering, we’ll go find your papa."

The little boy was crying so hard he started to hiccup. The woman gently patted his back and led the two children toward Gate Two to register.

"Captain, at the North Gate, a team that went out before dawn today has returned. They’re refusing inspection and trying to force their way through the checkpoint. We’ve got them all under control. But two of them don’t look good—they seem to be infected."

"Live infected? Take us to see." Yu Tianfeng and Dr. Wei hurried over to Gu Chen’s side.

"Let’s go see," Gu Chen said with a frown, and without another word, he led the group toward the base’s North Gate.

When the group arrived, the North Gate was indeed in an uproar.

Several people had been knocked to the ground with long poles by heavily-armed base soldiers.

After a warning shot was fired, the rest of them squatted on the ground, terrified and trembling.

"This is all your fault! You took this bunch of misfits out to scavenge for supplies, and now you’ve gotten us all into trouble, haven’t you?" a woman holding a dog said, squatting in the crowd and slapping her husband resentfully.

The dog in her arms let out a "WOOF."
