However, sleeping soundly was impossible in such an environment. After what felt like an eternity, dawn finally broke.
After confirming there was no danger nearby, Perry crawled out of the tree hollow.
She stretched her numb arms and legs, which had gone stiff from a night of inactivity.
After moving around for a bit, Perry was pleasantly surprised to find that her physique had genuinely grown stronger. She could even jump higher.
Once she was done stretching, she didn’t move on immediately. Instead, she began gathering weeds to once again craft a weed cloak and a weed hat.
Having done it once before, Perry’s movements were very practiced this time. In just over ten minutes, a weed cloak and weed hat were complete.
After performing an Ascension on them, she put them on and only then did she feel safe enough to slip into the tall grass.
After last night’s encounter, Perry had come to a profound realization: she was no match for the mutated creatures in this game.

As she walked, Perry suddenly came to the shore of a large lake.

However, Perry’s attention wasn’t on the fruits right now. It was captivated by two figures in the middle of the lake.
Right in the center of the lake, a venomous snake covered in bumps was locked in a struggle with a two-headed crocodile.
The two were viciously biting at each other. The scene was intense, and the blood they shed was staining the surrounding water red.
As the saying goes, it’s human nature to be a spectator.
Perry was no different.
She nimbly climbed a large nearby tree to watch the battle.
The dense canopy and the Weed Suit she wore served as her perfect camouflage.
Watching the two beasts fight, Perry cheered them on in her mind.

Perry watched with great excitement, hoping the two beasts would gravely injure each other so she could swoop in and reap the rewards.
Before her eyes, the two beasts fought with increasing ferocity. The area of the lake stained by their battle gradually expanded.
Just then, the snake’s body coiled tightly around the crocodile. Not to be outdone, the crocodile whipped its tail, flinging the snake onto the shore.
The next second, it thrashed its tail wildly and followed it onto the shore, relentlessly attacking the dazed and confused python.
Now in pain, the snake refused to back down and spat a mouthful of venom.
The venom landed on the crocodile’s body, making a SZZZ sound as flesh and blood corroded.
Perry watched the two monsters’ battle with relish, her blood pumping.
’If only I could have such immense combat power someday.’
Several hours passed like this. Perry’s legs, from crouching in the tree, had gone numb. The two monsters were still locked in a stalemate, neither willing to let the other go. They clung to each other stubbornly, as if in a wager to see who would give out first.
But as time ticked by, both of them gradually began to lose steam.
THUD! THUD!
In the end, the two monsters collapsed almost simultaneously, their bodies hitting the ground with a heavy thud.
Perry’s eyes widened as she stared at the scene in disbelief.
"Mutual destruction!"

Just when Perry thought this was the peak of her luck, two beams of light emerged from the monsters’ bodies, each forming a card above them.
After confirming there was no other danger around, Perry didn’t hesitate. She leaped down from the tree and ran straight toward the two monsters.
Reaching the monsters, she waved her hand and collected them into her system backpack.
’Thankfully, the system backpack only shows quantity and doesn’t have a size limit. Otherwise, I would have no idea how to carry back two monsters this big.’
The two cards were a one-star Poison Skill Card and a one-star Death Roll Skill Card.
Perry didn’t choose to absorb these two Skill Cards, stowing them away for the time being.
The beginner’s guide mentioned that the first card a player absorbs is crucial.

So, without any hesitation, she ran in the opposite direction.
