Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Survival Game Administration

A sudden flash of white light blinded her, and when Perry Yates opened her eyes again, she was back where she’d started her morning run.
She glanced at the fitness watch on her wrist. Only three minutes had passed.
She was in no mood to continue her run, so she turned and headed home.
Perry Yates’s parents had died in a plane crash when she was in high school, and she had been living alone ever since.
However, thanks to the inheritance her parents left her, she finished college, bought a large, single-floor apartment, and lived a comfortable life.
That was until six months ago, when the survival system suddenly appeared, flooding the internet with information about the survival game.
Perry Yates had just graduated from college at the time. Since she wasn’t short on money, she wasn’t in a hurry to find a job and paid close attention to news about the game.
After getting home, Perry Yates locked all the doors and windows, then began to inspect her haul.
First up was the card awarded by the system.
The forums had mentioned this before; players who performed exceptionally well had a chance to receive system rewards after a game ended.
This reward was usually a card—one that perfectly matched the player’s attributes.
With a flash of white light, a purple card appeared in Perry Yates’s hand.
She flipped the card over to reveal its face.
’A rose?’
On the face of the card was a blooming rose.
Unlike an ordinary red rose, this one was two-toned: half brilliant gold and half a cool, bluish-white.
She looked at the attributes listed beside it: Wood, Sunlight, Moonlight.
’A perfect match.’
Perry Yates put the card away, choosing not to absorb it immediately.
After putting that card aside, she took out all her others.
There was an Earth Attribute Swamp Card. The cards for the python and two-headed crocodile were Water Attribute, the Prismatic Tiger’s card was Gold Attribute, and the two-headed snake’s was Poison Attribute.
In addition, there were three item cards: a water canteen, the Spider Armor, and a Space Backpack.
After she emptied the contents of the Space Backpack, it reverted to its original card form.
She set all these cards aside.
Next were the various wild fruits. She hadn’t had much to do during the last few days of the game, so she had already used Ascension on all of them.
After stowing them all in the storage room, she moved on to the final, most troublesome part: the various prey she had brought back from the game.
She hadn’t processed the carcasses inside the game, considering the shelter’s structural limits and worrying that the smell of blood would attract unnecessary trouble.
Considering her own lack of butchering skills, Perry Yates decided it was best to leave the professional work to the professionals.
She put on a wig, black-framed glasses, and a hat, then used foundation to darken her skin. Only after completing her disguise did she head out.

Perry Yates walked into the near-empty main hall and went up to the reclamation counter.
"Hello, I’d like to sell some meat I obtained in the game."
"Of course, ma’am. Please present your player ID—you can just scan it here. We’ll arrange for a specialist to come for Identification."
The receptionist, a pleasant young woman, handled her request with practiced ease.
Perry Yates placed her left hand on the scanner. Once it was approved, the receptionist led her to a spacious, empty room.
On the way, Perry Yates raised her hand and glanced at her player ID: 92784116.
When she arrived, a young man was already waiting for her inside.
"What kind of meat are you looking to trade?" the young man asked.
Perry Yates simply glanced around the room and said, "I have a large quantity to trade. This room might not be big enough."
The young man was visibly stunned. But when he saw the serious look in her eyes, he realized she wasn’t joking and said:
"Please, follow me."
Perry Yates followed the young man to a massive warehouse, at least the size of a basketball court.
"Is this space sufficient?" the young man asked.
Perry Yates nodded, then released everything from her System Space.
A python, over ten meters long and thicker than a bucket; a two-headed crocodile; a massive tiger with dark-red fur and a tail of two snakes; and, looking more brutally killed than the others, a giant gray wolf and a golden brown bear.
The young man stared at the creatures that had appeared before him, utterly dumbfounded.
"Are you... trading all of this?"
On the surface, the young man remained calm, but inwardly he was screaming. ’This is a major client!’
"No, I’m only trading a portion. Also, I want to keep the hides of the tiger, the gray wolf, and the brown bear. Could you process them for me?"
"Of course, that’s no problem. Please wait a moment."
Saying this, the young man pressed a button. Soon, a team carrying professional tools filed in and began processing the carcasses Perry Yates had provided.
Watching their expert technique, Perry Yates knew she had come to the right place.
"By the way, may I ask, did you kill all these creatures yourself?"
’If so, then the girl in front of him was likely stronger than Drakonia’s current number one expert.’
"No," Perry Yates replied, then briefly explained how she had scavenged them.
After a full five hours, the five creatures were finally processed. In addition to the three hides she’d requested, Perry Yates also took half of the flesh and blood, which would be of great use to her.
"The rest is valued at thirteen million. Would you like that in cash, or would you like to exchange it for cards?"
"What’s the exchange system for cards?" Perry Yates asked.
Knowing it was Perry Yates’s first time, the young man gave a detailed explanation.

These cards are further divided into Skill Cards and item cards.

’With the funds she had, two-star cards were out of the question. She could only choose between White Cards and one-star cards.’
’However, with her Ascension Talent, card tiers weren’t that important. She was more interested in what the cards could do.’
