Chapter 1087: The Information Clovis Wanted
"What?" Angelia gasped. "Do you mean there’s an outside threat?"
"Yes. Judging from what I can see, it’s erased from the outside, but it’s because the data is missing. So, someone who had been managing this world chose to abandon that part and sealed it so that the damage didn’t spread.
Clovis turned grim. "So, does this mean what happened to Lucente was not the Prophet’s doing?"
"Well, we won’t know for sure. The Prophet himself might be someone entering this world from the outside. He might be an agent who wants to stop us from figuring out the truth."
For Clovis, this sounded believable. After all, Clovis knew that Melody and the others had created this world.
So, Melody might be the one who stopped the destruction from spreading.
However, the others couldn’t believe it. They didn’t have the necessary information to believe it.
Angelia asked, "How could that be? What’s going on exactly? Outside world? Threat? I know that this world is just a simulation, but isn’t this a bit too much of a stretch?"
Clovis looked at Angelia and wondered if this was the right time to tell the truth about the voices he heard.
He had experienced it twice. And the voices he heard the second time described what happened to Lucente. It matched what Melody had just said.
In other words, the voices might not be his delusion.
Clovis took a deep breath. "I think it’s best that you know about something else. With this, you will understand why Melody’s explanation makes sense. Still, it’s best to handle the matter here first. We’ll reconvene after we’re done with this mission. I will tell you more information at that time. Is that good enough?"
Angelia nodded. She never expected Clovis to still withhold information. What kind of information made Clovis hide it for so long?
"I will continue to take a look at the data." Melody waved her hand.
"Ah, wait. Melody, can you write down the data?"
"Nope. There’s too much even for me. However, I think about writing the part where it says Lucente’s erasure. It should be clear enough to show them that something has happened, but because they don’t have the source code, they won’t be able to tell what happened.
"Just use that as a narrative that the Prophet is the one doing it." Melody shrugged.
Clovis waved his hand. "No, not that. Can you figure out the number of experts that a certain country has?"
"Oh! That’s what you want to find?" Melody thought for a moment. "If it’s just a country, then I probably can, maybe multiple countries. But I can’t write them down easily. At most, I can tell you the numbers I found and be done with it."
"That’s enough for me."
"However, don’t expect me to find information about the Prophet. I don’t even know the name of his organization."
"I guess so." Clovis contemplated. "In that case, for now, find the information about the countries that are currently the Prophet’s allies. Then, find out about Meitar and Lenaban. They’re the countries with the first and second strongest people in the world. I’m not entirely sure, but there’s a high chance that they might come to attack us as well in the future. So, I just want to be safe."
"I see." Melody nodded in understanding. "I will do that. But it will take time, you know?"
"It’s fine." Clovis looked up. "We will definitely be here for more than two hours. Depending on the situation, we may not be able to stay for more than four hours. Even right now, they should be preparing their fighter jets and their other weapons."
"I know that." Melody nodded. "It’s going to be a hassle to fight those fighter jets. At least, Rea should be able to fight against their attack helicopters."
Clovis nodded. "For now, please continue with the plan."
"Got it." Melody closed her eyes, focusing again. She first wrote down everything related to Lucente before searching for the information of countries that Clovis wanted.
Meanwhile, the team that had gone downstairs continued with its exploration. It turned out there were a few more cubes underneath it.
When they reported it, Melody simply told them that all of them were connected, so she could access everything from the cube at the top.
Hence, Clovis asked them to continue to the bottom of the tower to figure out the situation.
In the end, the report came as he had expected.
Aileen said, "It looks like they have prepared to kill us. They have created a barricade. But judging from the situation, a Tier 9 human might have been there. According to Erwin, their faces looked awfully comfortable despite this country not having a Tier 9 human.
"They should be aware of our group’s strength, yet the fact that they’re not panicking means they have a guarantee. There is no one who can guarantee such a thing except for a Tier 9 human.
"Besides, the soldiers waiting on the surface look much more nervous. There are not many that can be seen, considering the building isolates it, but it’s clear that they don’t have the same assurance as the ones at the bottom of the tower.
"If we want to leave, it’s better to leave from the surface exit. Run as far as possible into the woods and lose them there."
Clovis nodded. "Don’t worry. We have prepared another travel service for our escape. We’ll use it to make the escape as safely as possible. Still, don’t lower our guard until we return to Absalom."
Aileen nodded. "Do you need me to do anything else?"
"Just stand by for now. We are going to leave soon. If there’s something happening, make sure to inform me about it."
"Got it."
Once Aileen left, Clovis closed his eyes, preparing himself to fight against a Tier 9 human. Even if they couldn’t defeat the enemy, they still could get away. Or at least, this was his plan. He didn’t plan to lose anyone in this place.
It took Melody three and a half hours to finish the task Clovis gave him.
It was finally time for them to face the soldiers in this country as well as a Tier 9 human.
