Chapter 1082: Reasons
"30 billion!"
The bidding war continued fiercely. Jeremy couldn’t help but feel impressed. "This is rather interesting."
Kalarn muttered, "For a country, creating a top-level human is much more important than creating an army. After all, a single Tier 9 human is like a tactical nuke. If you manage to gain something that will raise your strength to the point of Tier 9, Clovis Hacfield’s value will skyrocket."
"That’s true. If you can grant these items to Tier 8 humans and turn them into Tier 9, it will be terrifying." Jeremy nodded. "I’m afraid that after this, people will start to target Clovis even more."
"That’s true. They’re dying to get their hands on these items. Even if they have to pay trillions, as long as it can create a Tier 9 human, it will be worth it." Kalarn nodded.
"Well, why would he reveal something like this? Does he think that he won’t be targeted?"
"I don’t think Clovis is that foolish." Kalarn shook his head. "In fact, he has proven the value of these items all the time. The fact that he is someone who can defeat someone with a higher tier than him means what we’re currently thinking is correct."
"Or he might have figured out something else?"
"Such as?"
"Maybe he has figured out there is no point in hiding it further. That’s why he chooses to reveal it. It’s fine if the enemies know about this."
"But this is the same as revealing his trump card."
"Well, even if they know about it, it won’t change Clovis, right? Clovis still has the advantage of the items."
"Fair point. Besides, with the Hacfield family, it’s hard to ambush him." Kalarn thought for a moment. "Or Clovis might have some restrictions on selling these items. In the end, it’s made of his unique ability, right? Is his tier the only restriction?"
"..." Jeremy thought for a moment. "If that’s the case, we will need to be careful. There is a chance that he is pushing himself for us."
"I shouldn’t say this because those items bring a lot of benefits to us, but he needs to do this less."
Jeremy chuckled. "In any case, it looks like we will have to collect all those accessories."
"Definitely. I just don’t know how the world will react. The tension is already high because of Lucente, so with another move like this, it’s hard to predict their response."
"At the very least, we know these people won’t betray him."
"Are you sure about that?" Kalarn narrowed his eyes. "He removed a few organizations and added more."
"What I mean is that they will have to experience the removal. Right now, those who are out of favor must be crying right now. It will create a sense of camaraderie for those who still manage to be his allies. As a result, people might be willing to get rid of those guys for Clovis, showing that they’re useful to him as his allies."
"Greed." Kalarn narrowed his eyes.
"Yeah. The one who gives out that plan is probably my granddaughter."
"Your granddaughter is one hell of a scary woman." Kalarn chuckled.
"At least, she’s smitten with him. At least it’s not like their relationship will change." Jeremy glanced at him. "Meanwhile, you..."
"What? Jay is going to be my son-in-law. Thanks to sending both of my daughters, I can monopolize Jay for myself. He has remained the vice captain of the Libation Fiesta all this time. I don’t think he is not capable."
"..." Jeremy’s eyebrows twitched. He had heard about Jay from Hana.
She described Jay pretty simply. ’If they’re on the same level, even Christina has to be wary of Jay. The only one who can overwhelm Jay in the group is Clovis. They’re best friends and rivals at the same time.’
Jeremy didn’t say anything to Kalarn. If he found out Jay’s true ability, he would become crazier.
Besides, because of Clovis, Jay didn’t stand out, so people underestimated him. Jay was like a sharp blade that had been sheathed the whole time.
It felt like Clovis had kept Jay sheathed, drawing it only at the right moment.
Jeremy stood up. "In any case, the plan has been set in motion."
"Plan? What plan?"
Jeremy didn’t know either, but Clovis wasn’t here.
"I don’t know. What I know is that people must be thinking whether they should make a move or not. If they can snatch items from Clovis, they could get a lot more."
"Ah." Kalarn also realized it. "Yeah. They are holding themselves back, thinking that Clovis might be testing their loyalty. If they make a move, Clovis might still be here, watching their every move."
"Considering the fight is imminent, it’s understandable to test the loyalty of his allies." Jeremy nodded. "Besides, these people will be more than willing to get rid of those traitors."
"The question is whether they will move or not."
"Who knows?" Jeremy shrugged.
They had deliberately set everything up. Jeremy was sure that Clovis wasn’t here. If not, he wouldn’t have asked the army to help with the protection.
The problem was why Clovis wasn’t here. Jeremy simply couldn’t figure out that reason.
The reason was actually simple. Clovis wanted to visit another tower.
He used the hype of the auction to make people focus on it instead of himself.
In the meantime, Clovis had finally arrived at the city not far from the special tower.
"Wow. The travel service is terrifying." Kanaria looked up. "To think we will be able to reach this far without clashing with anyone. Have we even been spotted?"
"Don’t let your guard down just because it has helped us." Melody snapped her fingers. "Anyway, it’s time to handle the accommodation first."
"I know." Kanaria nodded.
"Let’s not waste too much time. The longer we’re here, the more dangerous the situation will become." Clovis looked at them. "We will rest tonight and go straight to the tower tomorrow. The fight will be messy, so prepare yourself."
The fight between the Libation Fiesta and a Tier 9 human was imminent.
