Chapter 1242: Chapter 1165 Ran Online “Guild War”.
Zaboru smiled while walking through the streets of Seoul. The city was still crowded despite how late it already was because this was Friday night during the weekend. Neon signs glowed everywhere, convenience stores remained packed with people, couples walked together across busy sidewalks, and groups of students laughed loudly while carrying snacks and drinks toward nearby PC Bangs.
The entire atmosphere of Seoul at night honestly felt alive.
Especially near gaming districts.
Bright PC Bang signs covered entire buildings while advertisements for online games, energy drinks, instant noodles, and internet cafés filled the streets with colorful lights. Some places even blasted game soundtracks and Korean pop music loudly from outside to attract more customers.
And not long after, Zaboru finally arrived at one of the larger PC Bangs located near the ZAGE Korea office.
The place was already absolutely packed despite it being late at night.
The moment he entered, warm air mixed with the smell of instant noodles, coffee, cigarette smoke, snacks, and overheated computers immediately hit him. Rows of glowing CRT monitors filled the massive room while keyboard sounds, mouse clicking, yelling, laughter, and trash talk mixed together into complete chaos.
Some people shouted after getting rare items. Some screamed during PvP fights. Others argued loudly about builds, guild politics, and equipment upgrades.
Honestly, the PC Bang atmosphere itself already felt like part of the game culture.
Zaboru smiled while looking around the PC Bang. The place was extremely noisy because most of the players right now were playing RAN Online. Even though there were still many people playing other games, RAN Online clearly dominated the atmosphere tonight because everyone was preparing for Guild War or "WG" War Ground.
Some groups were discussing strategies seriously. Others were preparing healing items and equipment. Some players already wore headphones while shouting campus slogans loudly toward their guild members.
The entire PC Bang honestly felt more like a battlefield command center than a normal internet café.
One player looked confused while staring at the RAN Online login screen. "Dude... what exactly is this War Ground thing?"
His friend, who was clearly a much higher-level RAN Online player, immediately grinned proudly while adjusting his headset. "Bro, this is guild war stuff. Lots of guilds from different campuses are gonna fight each other for territory. Everyone will be killing each other nonstop. Well... that’s what the official announcement says anyway since this is literally the first WG ever!"
His friend’s eyes immediately lit up with excitement. "Damn bro... I still don’t even have a guild yet. What guild are you in?"
The high-level player smirked proudly. "My guild is Vicious. We’re from MP Campus and honestly? We freaking rock. I’m actually one of their officers too."
Then he leaned closer dramatically.
"You wanna join later?"
His friend immediately nodded excitedly. "Hell yeah bro!"
Nearby, another group of players was already arguing loudly.
"Bro don’t trust Phoenix Campus players, they all gank people during farming!"
"Shut up idiot, MP Campus literally camps newbies during P.K Time!"
"Because they’re weak!"
"COME OUTSIDE THEN!"
The operator immediately shouted from the counter, "NO FIGHTING INSIDE THE PC BANG!"
But honestly, nobody even cared anymore.
The entire atmosphere inside the PC Bang already felt completely insane.
Zaboru smiled while looking at the entire spectacle around him. Honestly, it really brought back memories. Preparation for WG in RAN Online had always been something special, especially for him. But in this world, Zaboru had actually changed the system quite heavily compared to his previous life.
In his previous life, WG mostly revolved around "Activator" characters. Once an Activator started capturing an area, they could not be killed for a certain amount of time until the loading process finished. After that, the territory automatically became affiliated with the guild controlling the Activator.
The problem?
That system made most battles only become truly intense during the final minutes.
Zaboru honestly hated that.
Because instead of constant warfare, many players simply waited until the last moment before going completely crazy. It reduced the overall chaos and made long periods of WG feel strangely passive.
So in this world, he completely redesigned the system.
WG still lasted for one full hour like usual, and Activators still existed, but now victory was determined by total accumulated "Points" instead of simply controlling the final Activator at the end.
And because of that?
Killing each other constantly became extremely important.
Every kill added +1 point. Every death reduced points indirectly through pressure and map control. Successfully completing an Activator capture granted a massive +10 points. Meanwhile, losing an Activator territory reduced total points by 5.
This meant guilds could not simply hide and wait anymore.
They had to fight aggressively throughout the entire WG if they wanted to stay ahead.
The result was absolute chaos from beginning to end.
This made killing each other extremely important, and honestly? It turned WG into pure chaos from beginning to end.
Zaboru grinned while imagining the madness that would happen every single Friday night.
And the rewards themselves were also completely insane.
It was not just small amounts of money or basic consumable items. The winning guild could obtain genuinely rare rewards like limited accessories, unique cosmetic outfits, enhancement materials, guild emblems, rare weapons, and even special mounts only obtainable through WG victories.
That instantly made every guild become extremely competitive.
Because in MMORPG communities, rare items were not just about stats.
They were status symbols.
The moment someone walked around wearing exclusive WG rewards, everyone immediately knew that player belonged to a powerful guild.
Some players even joined guilds purely because they wanted those rare cosmetics.
Meanwhile, guild leaders became obsessed with recruiting stronger members before WG nights started.
And because WG happened every Friday night, the entire playerbase slowly began treating Friday evenings like a real social event.
Some students rushed home early after school. Some office workers skipped dinners. Some PC Bangs even started offering special RAN Online WG package promotions with instant noodles and drinks.
Every Friday night, Korea slowly transformed into complete MMORPG war mode.
Not long after, WG finally began, and the entire internet café exploded as if someone had thrown gasoline into fire. The countdown ended on every monitor almost at the same time, and dozens of players instantly shouted while slamming their keyboards and clicking their mice like soldiers entering a battlefield.
"COME WITH ME, VICIOUS!" one player from Vicious shouted while standing halfway from his chair, his headset almost falling from his head. "WE KILL ANYONE TODAY! HOLD THE ENTRANCE! DON’T LET PHOENIX or SG PASS!"
Several Vicious members inside the PC Bang immediately roared in response. Most of the café was filled with their guild members, so for a moment it felt like Vicious had taken over the entire building. Their voices echoed between rows of computers while their characters rushed toward the War Ground entrance inside the game.
But then, from the other side of the café, another group suddenly shouted back.
"FLAMER! TARGET VICIOUS FIRST!"
The atmosphere instantly changed.
A few Vicious players froze in shock before turning their heads toward the source of the voice. There, sitting near the back rows, was another guild from Phoenix Campus. FlameR had been hiding quietly among the crowd, waiting for the exact moment WG started before revealing themselves.
And worse, FlameR was not alone.
They had formed an alliance with one of the biggest guilds from Phoenix Campus, The Saints, who were playing from another PC Bang nearby.
And the funniest part?
They genuinely did not care about winning WG anymore.
They just wanted Vicious to suffer.
One FlameR player suddenly stood up dramatically while pointing across the café like some anime villain.
"LISTEN HERE VICIOUS!" he shouted. "I DON’T CARE ABOUT POINTS! I DON’T CARE ABOUT ACTIVATORS! I ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING YOUR NIGHT MISERABLE!"
Another FlameR member immediately added:
"IF VICIOUS LOSE EXP TODAY, WE WIN!"
"IF VICIOUS CRY TODAY, WE WIN!"
"IF VICIOUS BREAK KEYBOARD TODAY, WE WIN!"
Even some random nearby players started laughing after hearing how personal the hatred sounded.
One confused newbie quietly whispered:
"Bro... did Vicious steal their girlfriends or something?"
His friend answered immediately.
"Worse."
"What?"
"They camped them during farming last week."
The newbie’s expression instantly changed.
"...Understandable."
Meanwhile, the Vicious players were already yelling back loudly.
"DAMN IT! FLAMER IS HERE!" one Vicious player swore while pointing across the room.
"THE SAINTS TOO?! BRO, THEY BROUGHT BACKUP!" another shouted.
"THEY JUST WANT TO MESS WITH US?!"
One FlameR player immediately shouted back proudly:
"YES!"
Another added:
"WE TRAINED FOR THIS HATRED!"
"THIS IS NOT WG! THIS IS REVENGE ARC!"
At this point even Zaboru almost laughed out loud watching the situation.
The rivalry had already evolved beyond normal competition.
This was pure emotional warfare.
One Vicious player suddenly stood up aggressively.
"GOOD! THEN WE KILL THEM IN GAME AND OUTSIDE!" someone yelled in pure adrenaline.
"SETTLE IT WITH OUR FISTS!" another player shouted while standing up from his chair.
The PC Bang operator immediately slammed the counter and screamed, "NO FIGHTING INSIDE THE PC BANG! YOU BREAK ANYTHING, YOU PAY DOUBLE!"
But honestly?
Nobody truly listened.
Inside the game, Vicious and FlameR were already clashing at the entrance like two armies crashing head-on. Outside the game, their real bodies sat only a few meters away from each other, separated by rows of CRT monitors, instant noodle cups, cigarette smoke, and pure competitive hatred.
The tension was ridiculous.
It felt less like an online event and more like a street war barely contained inside an internet café.
Meanwhile, inside the game itself, the situation had already become complete madness. Hundreds of players were clashing nonstop across the War Ground while the entire PC Bang erupted with shouting, swearing, laughter, and panic. Because so many people were online simultaneously, even the game became slightly laggy during massive battles, but strangely enough, that only made the atmosphere feel even more intense.
"HEAL ME! HEAL ME!"
"BRO THEY’RE CAMPING THE STAIRS!"
"VICIOUS PUSH LEFT! PUSH LEFT!"
"KILL THE SHAMAN FIRST!"
"WHO STOLE MY KILL?!"
The entire PC Bang sounded like a battlefield command center.
Some players were standing while playing. Some slammed their tables after dying. Others screamed triumphantly after killing enemy guild members.
One player even fell from his chair after panicking during a sudden ambush, causing the entire nearby row to burst into laughter.
And through all of that chaos, Zaboru simply watched everything with pure amusement.
"Hehehe... this is what peak MMORPG should feel like," he muttered while smiling widely.
Honestly, he was enjoying every second of it.
The smell of instant noodles, canned coffee, cigarettes, overheated computers, and crowded human bodies mixed together into that strangely nostalgic PC Bang atmosphere he remembered so well from his previous life.
This was not just gaming anymore.
This was culture.
Players screaming together. Guild rivalries becoming personal. Friends protecting each other during PvP. Entire internet cafés emotionally invested in virtual wars.
RAN Online genuinely felt alive.
And honestly?
Watching all of this happen in front of him made Zaboru feel absurdly proud.
Not because he owned ZAGE. Not because the game was successful.
But because people were genuinely having fun.
Pure chaotic, emotional, unforgettable fun.
Meanwhile, the WG battles inside the game kept becoming more insane. Vicious and FlameR were now fighting near an Activator zone while dozens of dead player bodies covered the streets others Guilds also have insane and intense battles. Skill effects exploded everywhere, healers desperately spammed support magic, and random Scrub players kept running around trying to steal dropped items before instantly dying seconds later.
Honestly, the entire thing looked completely unhinged.
And that was exactly why Zaboru loved it so much.
RAN Online really rocked.
And these weekly WG nights?
They were definitely becoming something special.
But while Zaboru continued smiling and enjoying the spectacle, he did not realize that someone inside the PC Bang had already started noticing his disguise...
