Chapter 25 - The Knight Lady
* Well, here I go!* The burly man thought intensely, as he tightened his grip on his weapon, and braced himself for the attack.
Halt!
As the attack was soon to land on the man and completely obliterate him, a huge armoured shield suddenly came out of nowhere and protected him from the energy ball.
Boom!
A loud defeaning sound was made as the energy ball crashed onto the armoured shield!
The collision of the energy ball onto the shield was so huge that it made whoever was behind the shield take a large amount of steps back.
Smoke went up and clouded the whole restaurant, as a huge hole was created on the ground where the attack had collided with the shield.
As the smoke cleared, the two children look in curiosity, as they wanted to know who had dared to stop them from killing a pest. The pest who hurt Kenji-sama!
Immediately the smoke was finally cleared, they saw a huge armoured shield a few feet away from the collision, there was a huge dent at the center of the shield showing both it's strength and the might of the attack. Even a shield as strong as this proves to take difficulty in deflecting the attack, what if it had landed on its target?!
Suddenly, the shield fell to the ground and revealed two people standing behind it.
One was the burly man who was only a strand away from death a moment ago, and the other...the other...
It was a beautiful young looking lady! She was adorned in a golden armour with the city's insignia on the right side of her chest and a strange other badge on the left side. She had golden blonde hair that weaved through her back and landed on her waist. A cold exppression covered her face, as her blue eyes scanned her vicinity.
When her eyes landed on the two children with flaring energy exuding from them, a look of suprise arose on her cold face before going back to normal the next second.
Her name was Takumi Shiniqua, the head of one of the team of the Knights order of Rendel town, commonly known, as the armoured dragon.
As she looked at the children coldly, the two kids got into a battle stance, ready to attack once required. Judging by this woman's cold glare, she was definitely not a nice person.
Also, forr their attack to be swayed off by this woman with just a shield, she must surely be formidable. It seems there was more than one person coming after Kenji-sama, and so they had to protect him!
Shiniqua looked at the children in their battle stance, as she let out a slight he of hot air," due to the fact that I know you are not at fault, you would be let off most charges, but you must pay for the damages caused in this restaurant by your lack of restraint," she said coldly, her words shocking the children.
They had expected to be tangled into another fight and probably send her to bye-bye too, but it seems she wasn't interested in fighting them, she was just there to spout out a bunch of strange words that they couldn't understand: what's restraint?
" Kenji-sama!" The little girl healing Kenji exclaimed in suprise, as Kenji began to show signs of waking up!
The children suddenly heard their sister's voice from behind, and without thinking of any other thing, they rushed over to him, leaving the knight lady standing there in disbelief as to how they had just ignored her.
" Kenji-sama!" The children exclaimed, as they encircled him with tears streaming down their eyes.
After Kenji saved them, they had seen him as their benefactor, a kind of shield that protected them and saved them from the cruelty of reality.
Although they hadn't spent even a full day together. Heck! They didn't even know their names, they felt deeply attached to him.
So when they saw him in such a miserable state, they felt both angered and pained and Immediately sought out revenge on the one who caused it.
Kenji felt drops of liquid landing on his face, as he slowly opened his eyes. He woke up, only to find himself being surrounded by the three kids, as tears streamed down their eyes.
He calmly sat up with a smile, as he cleared the tears from their eyes with his thumb," there there, I'm alright now, there's no need to cry," he said in a comforting tone as he held their hands in assurance.
But, unlike Kenji had expected, instead of stopping their tears, it actually began to stream out more.
" We- we thought you were going to die,"
" We thought you were going bye-bye,"
" Kenji-sama, don't ever do that again! Wuuuh~"
The three children cried their eyes out, as Kenji looked at them a bit flustered by the situation.
* It's not like I knew I was going to be thrown so suddenly, it wasn't my fault. And besides, I'm fine now, so why are you still crying. What am I going to do?! Should I cry also?!* Kenji thought, his mind complicated with thoughts of what to do.
" Hggmmh!" Someone suddenly cleared their throat, breaking up the tearing moment, and Immediately caused the children to stop crying.
Kenji suddenly looked up, and so did the kids, as their eyes came in contact with that of a lady in golden armour.
After being neglected, Shiniqua decided to approach them herself after she had tied up the burly man with some special ropes.
" Sorry to disturb this... moment. But are you the victim and the father of these three?" She asked with her regular cold look as she stared down at Kenji.
Kenji nodded slightly in confirmation. Even if he wasn't their biological father, he was their care-taker now, and so basically their father, so when asked, he has to respond with a confirming nod.
" Alright, sorry for the disturbance caused by that thug. Any injuries would be taken care off by the Knight order after this, but you were still instigated in a fight in an unauthorized location, so we would need both parties involved to compensate the owner with a reasonable amount," she said in a cold and aloof tone, not caring about Kenji's feelings as she spoke.
Pay?
For what?
He was the one victimized here! He was the one injured! Shouldn't it be the offending party that should pay?! Why should I even drop a penny.
Though, he didn't dare to say that out loud, as he had heard of the rules of the knights order before, and if anyone dares to question them, they would be charged for treason. And he definitely doesn't want to be charged for that when he could just pay.
" Alright," Kenji said in an unwilling tone, as he brought out his coin pouch and paid the necessary amount.
" Thak you for your cooperation," she said after taking the money and immediately turned around to leave.
Although unsatisfied by the outcome, there was nothing he could do about it, so he just swallowed his dissatisfaction and decided to move onto more pressing matters.
But before he could say anything, the knight lady stopped," I advise you keep your children under control, for you had already broken a rule for using magical abilities in the city, though, I will overlook it for it was just an act of self defense, but if such should occur again in the future, I will not hesitate to detain you. Also, another advise: don't let everyone know of your children's abilities, what they had already displayed is something over the status of regular and some Noble people, so I suggest you keep their abilities hidden," she said coldly as he finally walked out.
* Abilities? What abilities?*
Since he was knocked out, he had no idea of the scene the children had caused, with them going all "Super Saiyan" and almost killing someone.
Though, he decided to shift that to the side of his mind, as another thought crossed his mind.
Not caring about it for the time being, he looked down at the children with a wide grin, do you little ones know what time it is?"
" Time? Well I think it's just a little over 4:00pm why do you ask?" Said the little boy while counting his fingers and looking up at Kenji curiously.
New n𝙤vel chapters are published on freeweɓnøvel.com.
" No, you're wrong, that's not it," Kenji said with a wider grin.
" Then I don't know," he said, giving up on looking for the answer, even his sisters were helpless on this topic. It's not like they really needed a reason to know the time, so why should they be keeping track of it.
" Well since none of you three know, then let me tell you: it's time to give you your names!"
