Chapter 1215: Chapter 307: Fury Unleashed IV_3
They are here to confront the Southern Army...
But why would the Southern Army appear here... Martha above!
Amid the stormy sky.
Northda stood upright on his mount like a javelin, letting the wind and rain hit his face, letting lightning illuminate his eyes, yet his heart was as calm as a still well.
He instinctively touched his cheek, a scar left from the Trade Wind Ring, but then he was at peace with it, a scar is a warrior’s badge.
At least, he was back with the Southern Army.
He glanced back, seeing an equal number of Tree Elf Archers mounted alongside him on Flying Dragons. The other party nodded back, having been comrades in battle, now cooperating once again.
But the target was no longer the Wolf Calamity.
Yes, the Kingdom abandoned them.
But the Southern Army could not abandon their homeland—
Northda raised his spear, pointing straight ahead: "Dragon Cavalry, heed my command—battle formation—target, Black Blade Legion!"
"For Erune, charge forth!"
A huge arrow formation formed in mid-air.
"Southern Army, advance!"
...
Everyone understood, Erune’s civil war had officially begun.
Amidst the swirling dust, Brand faced his first opponent, a Templar. He saw the knight engaged with Nemesia, the dark-haired female knight clearly overwhelmed.
Yet, she could not afford a single lapse, for Princess Griffine was just a step behind her.
Seeing this, without thinking, Brand thrust his sword forward; his swordsmanship was always brutal and savage, this strike was no exception, disregarding even a trace of noble etiquette, akin to a sneak attack.
The Templars of the Flame Temple were all enlightened by Elements, yet faced with such relentless assault, they were helpless. Forced to parry, a ’clang’ sounded as metal clashed, both swords recoiling.
Nemesia finally found a chance to step back, covering her mouth to cough up blood, she gasped and then looked up at Brand with a pale face:
"Who taught you this swordsmanship?"
"We’ll talk later."
Nemesia gritted her teeth but nodded.
The Templar had noticed Brand, clearly recognizing him; cold lights flashed in the eyes beneath the metal mask. Brand immediately felt the airflow around him slightly stagnate, slowing his movements.
"Careful, his element seems related to wind." Nemesia cautioned, her voice chilling, but with a hint of concern.
This voice stirred Brand’s blood.
So alike.
Just like Senior Sister.
If Senior Sister were still here...
If she were still in this world...
Senior Sister, my Lord.
Brand couldn’t help closing his eyes, and for a moment, he felt his perception extending endlessly along his sword. It was clearly dark, yet everything seemed right in front of him.
Every line and point.
A world constructed of laws.
A towering wall appeared before him.
The Elemental Wall!
Brand was shocked to the core. He opened his eyes abruptly, seeing everything differently now, the deepest part of his eyes seemingly burning with silver flames, with endless laws and meanings of the world, the ultimate destiny of all things, unfolding towards the infinite.
How could this be?
He raised his sword.
"Wind Element, Bind."
"Most inferior element."
"Is this what you think will bind me?"
"Just an insect."
A voice of utter confidence, as if atop all creation. Brand swung his sword single-handedly, and as the Templar’s greatsword approached, their swords clashed, as if Brand casually threw out a spark.
The Templar’s sword flew out of his hand.
The Templar was astounded, never dreaming such a prodigy could exist, one who touched the Elemental Wall during battle; Brand’s slash was not his own power, but imbued with the law’s power itself.
As he awoke, the slash emerged from the realm of laws.
Irresistible.
Yet the Templar, being one of the Flame Temple’s top combat forces, reacted quickly, retreating as fast as lightning upon losing his sword.
Brand lowered his sword horizontally for a slash.
The blade’s tip missed by a hair’s breadth.
But precisely so.
"Ah—!" The Templar suddenly let out an incredulous scream, clutching his chest with one hand as his chest armor bore a not-too-deep slash, from which blood flowed freely.
Brand raised his head, already in ecstasy, his eyes shining with a daunting gleam: "—Guaranteed Hit!"
