Chapter 1136: Chapter 282: Destiny’s Encounter

Frey took a step forward. She was dressed in the silver-plated armor of a Forbidden Army Knight, the golden trim on her silver-white armor catching a hazy halo in the forest’s moonlight. Her dark red knight’s cloak draped on the ground after dismounting, two silver tassels representing her rank hanging from its edges—she appeared to be the leader of this band of knights. She paused, looking at the manor on the brink of becoming ruins, and stated her identity, "We are knights of Her Highness the Princess. May I ask if there’s any assistance needed?"

"No, no need, it’s nothing," the young Earl also recognized these knights’ identities. Unwilling to complicate matters, he hurriedly shook his head in response.

This statement made the knight girl furrow her brow. After all, she was no longer the naive girl from the countryside. The future Valkyrie lifted her head, somewhat suspiciously gazing at the Earl of Yan Castle and his group—the moonlight traversed the clouds, precisely shining through the roof’s holes, casting a chill of silver brilliance on the broken staircase, revealing several figures—Frey couldn’t help but be taken aback, marveling at how beautiful and adorable the boy was. However, her brows, sharp as a sword, soon knitted, as the two individuals behind Delphire caught her attention; she found them exceedingly suspicious.

Brand instantly broke out in a cold sweat, hurriedly lowering his head. This girl from the Buqi countryside had become much more composed after six months at the Knight Academy; her suspicious gaze gave him the illusion of being exposed.

He inwardly lamented the misfortune. If they were exposed by the other party now, it would indeed be disastrous. Frey had no idea what they were up to; kidnapping a noble was punishable by death. Of course, according to Char, if his Lord were to be hanged, the noose around his neck would have to be wound over a dozen times to be sufficient, but Brand certainly didn’t wish for his plan to be in vain.

"Lord, do you think Miss Frey has recognized us?" Char also couldn’t help but sweat coldly, cautiously communicating through mind communication.

Brand inwardly cursed Crow’s Beak, and at this moment, the Earl of Yan Castle finally came to his senses. This young beauty from the Northern Land seemed unwilling for these royal knights to linger here any longer. Delphire quickly found an excuse, "Ladies, please don’t worry, it’s just a minor mishap when one of my men was experimenting with a spell. I’ll call someone to handle this immediately, apologies for the scene."

At this, both Brand and Char let out long sighs of relief. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

It’s common for nobles to support a couple of wizards as house servants, nothing unusual. However, Frey still felt this young noble wasn’t telling the whole truth. She raised her head and looked at Brand and Char again, muttering internally, "Strange fellows." These past weeks, she had been crammed with a bunch of noble knowledge by Nemesia, although much of it went unremembered, she at least understood that nobles more or less have their own secrets and knew not to linger here being a nuisance.

In fact, she originally came over just to check for any emergencies after hearing the explosion. Since the other party expressed they didn’t need their help, she thought about it and prepared to take her leave.

However, just at that moment, the guards who had just been dismissed back to the gate by Delphire were brought back again. Brand looked up and immediately cried inwardly, dread seizing him. Another squad of knights had unknowingly arrived at the manor gate, equipped in armor resembling Frey’s, but with extra tassels on their cloaks—these were active Royal Knights, far more formidable than the Officer Cadets from the Knight Academy. Brand hurriedly lowered his head once more.

"It should be the direct superior of these Officer Cadets, though I don’t know which Guard Knight Captain is currently with Her Highness the Princess, is it Dengden or Dus?" As Brand lowered his head, he sorted his thoughts, realizing that the Officer Cadets couldn’t possibly act alone and must have official knights patrolling with them; now it seemed Frey was merely the vanguard. Two names of Knight Commanders quickly crossed his mind, if he recalled correctly, one of these two should be serving by the Half-Elf Princess’s side during this period.

Dengden and Dus weren’t particularly famous NPCs in Amber Sword, but as former supporters of the Royalist faction, Brand had taken on tasks from them. If he remembered right, their current strength was only at the Silver Peak level, not even considered top-notch among the Royalist faction’s ranks.
