Chapter 1093: Chapter 263: Reacquaintance_2

"Who are you, and how do you recognize me?" Sani’er pondered for a long while but couldn’t figure out a reason. Instead, the more mysterious these Humans seemed, the more cautious he became, forcing him to furrow his brow and ask this question.

"Lord, do you know these Naga?" Captain James couldn’t help but ask.

"Heh heh." Brand couldn’t help but let out a proud laugh.

The residents on land are always arrogant, beyond civilization lies only the Barbaric. The Naga often attack merchant ships and even ports, but no one takes the time to learn the details of a group of bandits. Perhaps naval Commanders in places like Grey Wind Harbor and Ambeser might know some details, but who among the lords and nobles on land would care about these?

But as it turns out, he knew.

Brand secretly delighted in his heart. Compared to everyone else on the ship at this moment, the tension from thinking they were under attack had completely dissipated. Of course, he recognized the other party, not only knowing their name but also knowing that this guy is a straightforward, muscle-brained fool known as "Stupid Fish." He got to know this guy during their first exploration of the Kalanja Mountain Range, a relationship forged not through blows but through mutual respect. Both were attacked by the Grey Fin Naga, but the team led by the Senior Sister was not to be trifed with and easily repelled the assault—the Naga don’t always bring the Sea Demon Whale or Mermaid along to play pirate; otherwise, they would have been eradicated by the surrounding countries’ navies long ago. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

What happened afterwards was that Players from Erune generously released the prisoners, winning their friendship. This friendship didn’t seem very strong, but the Grey Fin Naga always kept this favor in mind. Even when Erune fell, Sani’er, who had risen to the throne by then, led the Grey Fin Naga to support Erune’s navy.

This was simply because the guild Brand belonged to sided with Erune.

This camaraderie persisted in Amber Sword for a long time, and before Brand headed north to join the Knight Order Country Greythius, he had spent some time in the Sea of Shining. During that period, many Erune players used it as a base to conduct guerrilla warfare within Erune’s borders. Although they ultimately couldn’t save the Kingdom’s Destiny, everyone remembered the favor from the Grey Fin Naga in their hearts.

Brand was no exception.

Seeing that familiar face at this moment—even though Naga faces looked somewhat peculiar—he was filled with a strange emotion, much like when he saw the Valkyrie who was once a village girl. The feeling of returning to familiar places, with history unfolding before him, emerged spontaneously. Brand couldn’t help but take a deep breath. Only when seeing these familiar figures from the past did he feel like he was genuinely living in this World.

But of course, he knew this familiarity was merely an illusion, for the other party did not recognize him, and he had no reason to recognize them either. The Distant Land had never released any Grey Fin Naga prisoners, nor had they received any kindness from the Grey Fin Naga; they were strangers to one another. If he didn’t answer the next question correctly, they might immediately become adversaries.

Everyone was now waiting for his response.

Brand thought carefully and said, "Surely your father remembers the merchant ship that passed here twenty years ago?"

Sani’er’s brow twitched at the mention of twenty years ago. That was his first thought as well, because it concerned a personal matter—his father had been rescued by a Human merchant on this sea twenty years ago. If it weren’t for that event, Sani’er’s existence might be uncertain as the Grey Fin Naga valued credibility and repaid kindness. His father had told him the story, hoping he would repay that merchant or their descendants someday. Sani’er had never spoken of this to anyone, and naturally, he wouldn’t suspect Brand was deceiving him.

But unfortunately, Brand was indeed tricking him. Sani’er never dreamed that in the future, he would have privately shared this story with Brand and others when their friendship had deepened considerably. Sani’er hoped Brand and his friends would go ashore to find that merchant for him. Of course, that was another task in Amber Sword that ended unresolved, but Brand did not expect it would become useful now.
