Chapter 1054: Chapter 250: Unyielding Conviction, Golden Radiance

When the Clockwork Man placed the final trump card on the field, the older sister was trembling with rage. Her almond eyes widened, almost overflowing with fury: "Fine, Clock Monster! But you don’t need to remove your own protection! Are you trying to die, you brainless idiot with water in your skull?"

The Clockwork Man’s body seemed to emit a cracking sound, but he looked down at his companion: "Yi Lian, this is the war of the Travel Mage, continuing since the dawn of the epoch. You must learn to respect it. This is the world our master has pursued all his life, and beings like him disdain using objects outside the rules of destiny because we hold the entire rule in reverence."

He shook his head: "I admit my true form is powerful, but on this battlefield, I believe there is no essential difference between us."

"You lunatic!"

The Deer Demon was hopping mad, pointed at the opponent and screamed: "Fine, Clock Monster, you will regret this! No matter what, this time I will defeat you, trample your so-called false pride into the ground, you fool! Travel Mage, let’s defeat this guy together!"

Brand turned back to look at Yi Lian, more or less understanding the source of the older sister’s overflowing anger.

The incomplete Clockwork Man stood there proudly, yet at the end of its life. Though they had fought for millennia, rather than eternal enemies, they were more like friends with different ideals. Yi Lian never dreamed that this damn Clock Monster was serious.

She felt disheartened, yet indescribable rage welled up within her. She turned to meet Brand’s slightly apologetic gaze and said, "Travel Mage?"

Brand looked up at the sky, or perhaps stared directly into despair. The massive shadow behind the door was legendary, leaving a notable reputation in the Amber Sword, the destroyer of the Golden Land, a Divine Calamity unmatched at Twilight, existing in nearly the same era as the Divine People.

The Eternal Wound Imoku could suffocate people with its mere presence.

"We can’t defeat the Eternal Wound," Brand understood the significance of the Eternal Wound Imoku.

"I have one Duel of Fate, it’s a colorless divine artifact card, it can affect the Eternal Wound," Yi Lian took a gentle breath, "I can only give you half a minute, no, at most 20 seconds, can you defeat that Clock Monster?"

"Are you saying?" Brand’s eyes flickered slightly, he couldn’t help but glance at the remaining creatures of the Clockwork Man—three scarred demons, a few Guardian of Defeat, and a field of Nightmare Furnace Creatures. But he couldn’t even handle those three scarred demons, let alone the forty Nightmare Furnace Constructs, which were the most threatening on the Clockwork Man’s hand.

In truth, escaping and surrendering would be the best choice. But looking at the older sister’s bright eyes in front of him, Brand found it hard to speak, "I don’t know, it’s very difficult, I’m not confident." He changed his wording, which wasn’t what he intended to say.

"It’s okay, just leave it to you. Regardless of victory or defeat, I hope you can give it your all for me, consider it a favor I owe you!" The Deer Demon said softly, looking up at the Clockwork Man, her eyes flickering with bright flames, "No matter what, I want to try one more time, this might be the last, but I don’t want any regrets."

"I understand."

Brand nodded. To be trusted always fills one with strength.

He once again placed his hand on the card.

The Clockwork Man watched the scene like a spectator, silent, awaiting Yi Lian and Brand’s final struggle. Under his control, the Eternal Wound Imoku had already entered the field, its presence permeating the arena, changing the expressions of all the soldier creatures present. Only Andreg remained indifferent.

The Deer Demon took one last look at the Clockwork Man.

She then threw the Duel of Fate at the Eternal Wound, the golden circle enveloping her and all her summons along with the monstrous entity. Brand found the circle could block sight, as if Yi Lian and that terrifying monster disappeared into another space together.

That was better.

With the oppressive presence gone, Brand breathed a sigh of relief. Now he had Lopar, two Spirit Statues who were Great Angels, countless Wind Spirit Spiders, the Holy Sword, and Andreg. The problem was how to fight, as he still had the Side-by-Side Dash, Golden Radiance Battle Banner, Secret Rune Summoner, and the Vampire Baron card, though none seemed useful.
