Chapter 379: Chapter 379 - Bloodfang, why are you crying?

Warm tears soaked straight through Seraphine’s dress where Voren’s face stayed buried deep in the curve of her neck.

For a heartbeat she froze completely, but then the sound hit her, soft, broken, raw animal-like sobs that tore at her heart. Her eyes flew wide open in shock.

"Bloodfang, why are you crying?" she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

The massive wolf who had taken over his human’s body pressed even closer, clinging to her like she was the only source of comfort in his entire world.

When he finally spoke, his rough voice came out cracked and wounded, full of genuine pain. "I made you sad, and it hurts me so much. I don’t want you to be sad anymore." His powerful arms tightened around her waist, pulling her impossibly closer. "I’m sorry. I won’t hurt the pack warriors ever again."

Seraphine’s heart squeezed tight with a painful wave of tenderness she hadn’t seen coming. She never could have imagined this.

Bloodfang was the most terrifying force she had ever encountered, yet here he was, sounding like a lost, guilty pup desperate for her forgiveness.

A rush of overwhelming emotion flooded her chest as she gently threaded her fingers through Voren’s dark hair, stroking it with slow, soothing touches.

"It’s okay, Bloodfang," she murmured, her voice soft and full of warmth. "What matters most is that you understand what you did wrong and you truly want to change. That makes me so happy."

She kept running her fingers through his hair, comforting the wild wolf with every gentle caress. "I’m not sad anymore, I promise. And don’t worry, I’ll go take care of those warriors myself."

Bloodfang seemed to melt with relief at her words. "Thank you," he breathed. Slowly he pulled back just enough for her to see his face. Those pitch-black eyes were still glistening with tears as he awkwardly wiped at them with the back of his hand.

The sight was so unexpectedly sweet that Seraphine almost laughed out loud.

If it had been Voren crying, she probably would’ve teased him without mercy, but this was Bloodfang, the fierce, battle-hardened wolf who made entire armies tremble. Seeing him so vulnerable and open because of her hit her with a deep wave of affection.

For the first time, she truly understood just how much her opinion mattered to him.

"There," she said tenderly, cupping both of his cheeks in her hands. "You’re such a good boy."

Bloodfang closed his eyes immediately, leaning into her touch with pure contentment.

When those eyes opened again, the deep black had faded away, replaced by Voren’s familiar dark gaze.

"Voren," Seraphine breathed, relief crashing over her like a warm tide.

Without a second thought, she threw her arms around him. Voren hugged her back just as fiercely, his chin resting lightly on her shoulder as he held her close.

"How did it go?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. "I was shocked he handed control back without me even asking."

Seraphine pulled back just enough to meet his eyes, a bright, radiant smile lighting up her whole face. "It went really well. At first he was being his usual naughty self."

Voren let out a low chuckle. "Yeah, that sounds exactly like him." She shook her head in amused disbelief. "But the second I brought up the warriors, he looked so guilty... and then he started crying."

Voren’s eyes widened dramatically. Inside his head, Bloodfang let out an immediate defensive growl. ’I did not cry.’ Voren nearly burst out laughing. ’Sera would never lie to me.’

Bloodfang went completely silent and retreated deep into the back of his mind. The wolf’s sudden disappearance was all the confirmation Voren needed, and he couldn’t hold back the warm, rumbling laugh that escaped him.

His attention returned fully to Seraphine, his eyes softening with deep affection. "Honestly, I never thought anyone could actually pull that off with him."

Seraphine tilted her head, curious. "What do you mean?"

A gentle smile played across his lips. "You’re the only she-wolf he’s ever truly warmed up to like this."

The sincere compliment sent a pretty pink flush across her cheeks. She glanced away shyly for a moment before adding with quiet pride, "And he promised he’ll never hurt another warrior again. I told him his strength should be saved for our enemies instead."

Voren’s expression melted with gratitude. Without warning, he leaned in and pressed a deep, heartfelt kiss to her lips. "Thank you," he whispered against her mouth, the emotion in his eyes saying far more than words ever could.

Before Seraphine could respond, he scooped her up carefully into his strong arms. A small surprised yelp escaped her lips as he held her securely.

"Since Marsha refuses to help," he murmured, his voice low and caring, "I think a long soak in warm water might help ease some of that pain." His gaze drifted down to fireplace, concern replacing the lighter mood in an instant. "I’ll grab more firewood while you relax."

Seraphine nodded, already feeling safer and more cherished in his arms. "That sounds perfect."

Voren carried her over to the bed and laid her down with incredible gentleness. Once he made sure she was comfortable, he prepared the jacuzzi, filling it until steam rose invitingly from the warm water.

The cozy cabin felt even cozier with the fire crackling softly nearby. When everything was ready, he helped her out of her clothes with tender care and eased her into the soothing heat.

The warmth wrapped around her aching body instantly, drawing a long, pleased sigh from her lips. "Oh wow... this feels amazing, V." She leaned back, letting the heat melt away tension she hadn’t even realized she was carrying. "You should join me."

Voren looked incredibly tempted, his eyes darkening with desire as he stood there for a moment, clearly torn. For a second it seemed like he might forget everything else, but responsibility won out. He sighed dramatically.

"I should... but let me grab more firewood first." He nodded toward the window where snow kept falling steadily outside. "If we run out, we’ll both end up freezing."

Seraphine laughed softly. "Fine, but hurry back."

Voren stole one last longing look at her before heading outside. The cabin felt strangely empty and quiet without him there.

Seraphine sank deeper into the warm water, letting herself fully relax as the heat worked its magic on her tired muscles.

Before long, the door opened again. Voren returned faster than she expected, bringing a rush of cold air with him that quickly disappeared once the door shut.

He added fresh wood to the fire, making the flames dance brighter, then walked straight to the jacuzzi. Moments later he slipped into the warm water beside her with a deep, satisfied sound. "I agree," he murmured, draping his arm along the edge behind her. "This feels really good."

Seraphine smiled and naturally leaned closer until there was no space left between them. The peaceful atmosphere wrapped around them like a comforting blanket.

Outside, snow continued to blanket the pack lands in quiet beauty, while inside only the crackling fire and gentle sounds of water filled the space. The warmth, the privacy, and the growing love between them made the moment feel absolutely perfect.

As they relaxed together, the deep affection flowing between them became impossible to ignore. But when Voren brushed against Seraphine’s core beneath the water, she flinched sharply.

His expression darkened with immediate concern. Without hesitation, he pulled her securely against his chest, holding her close. "I think I know a way to take this pain away completely."
