Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Shadows of Truth
Author
Selina’s world fell apart.
Alpha Dominic and Elara were married? Two people from totally different worlds?
"Dad, please tell me you’re joking," Selina said, her voice shaking. "Didn’t you say she was going to marry someone from the Sterling family?"
Alpha Enzo sighed heavily. He really wished Elara had married Damian Sterling instead. That would have made sense.
"Elara is smart. She set up this marriage by herself," he said angrily. "I don’t have enough power to control anyone in the Wolfe pack."
That made Selina feel sick. She hung up the phone.
Her mind was racing.
If Alpha Zack found out about this... she knew how Alpha males thought.
If Elara had married some nobody, some regular human or weak wolf, Alpha Zack wouldn’t have cared much. He would have just felt superior.
But Elara married the Alpha King. Dominic Wolfe was the most powerful Alpha in the entire region and someone even Alpha Zack had to respect and fear.
Alpha males hated being outranked by anyone.
This news would destroy Alpha Zack’s ego completely.
Selina’s heart pounded as she thought about Alpha Zack’s reaction.
The thought of him finding out that his ex-girlfriend was now married to the Alpha King made her blood run cold.
She had to keep this secret buried until after their wedding! At least until they were officially mated.
By then, maybe Alpha Zack would be too invested in their relationship to care about Elara anymore.

Nearly twelve hours had passed since they’d delivered the video evidence to the police department. The duty manager was pacing like a caged animal. "Elara, you don’t think the cops have been bought off by Alpha Zack’s people, do you?"
Elara shook her head firmly. "I doubt it. The police chief here has a solid reputation. Blackwood Industries is powerful, but they’re not above the law."
"Let’s give them more time. We need to trust the system to work."
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the online witch hunt against Park Hotel Group came to a screeching halt.
The police released an official statement that hit social media like a bomb:
[OFFICIAL POLICE STATEMENT: Following a thorough investigation, we have determined that the reported violin damage was orchestrated by the complainant himself. Park Hotel Group bears no responsibility for this incident. Our department will continue pursuing charges related to filing false reports and fraud.]
The simple black text on white background delivered a devastating slap to everyone who had been tearing Elara apart online.
Within minutes, Selina scrambled to delete her passive-aggressive post and locked down her entire comment section.
Only now, after forty-eight hours of brutal cyberbullying, did people realize they’d been played like fiddles.
Suddenly, Elara’s social media was flooded with embarrassed apologies and attempts at damage control.
"OMG I’m so sorry! I totally believed the wrong person!"
"We should have waited for the facts! Sorry for jumping to conclusions!"
"Park Hotel Group deserves an apology from all of us!"
But Elara didn’t respond to any of it. She simply cleared out her message inbox, deleting hundreds of hate messages without reading them.
Then she removed her favorite photo - the one of herself standing confidently on a yacht deck, arms spread wide to embrace the ocean breeze.
It was her way of drawing a line under this entire nightmare and moving forward on her own terms.
Elara
I stormed back to the corporate office and headed straight for Jack’s suite, slamming his door open so hard that the man lounging with his coffee nearly jumped out of his skin.
"Well, well, Uncle Jack. Looking pretty comfortable there," I said, my voice dripping with ice. "The company’s facing a PR nightmare, and you’re MIA from the battlefield. Is this what we’re paying you six figures for as General Manager?"
Jack sat there like a deer in headlights, completely caught off guard by my direct attack.
"Elara, I was just giving you room to shine," he stammered, scrambling for an excuse. "You were handling the crisis so brilliantly, I figured I should work behind the scenes to keep things stable."
His bullshit explanation didn’t fool me for a second. "Tomorrow I’m calling an emergency board meeting. We need to discuss whether you’re still the right fit for the Executive Manager role."
"Uncle Jack, you’re not getting any younger. If this job is too demanding for you, maybe it’s time to consider early retirement with full benefits."
Jack shot up from his chair like he’d been electrocuted, his face turning bright red. "Elara, what the hell are you suggesting? You trying to push me out? I’m the General Manager of this company!"
"This hotel’s success is all because of MY leadership! You’ve forgotten who built this empire!"
