Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Little Cupid

Author

Alpha Dominic had just finished an online meeting when Linda told him that Elara had come home.

He immediately went to her room, knocking on the door with no response. When he tried the handle, it was locked.

He made an annoyed sound before returning to the living room.

"Did she not see the flowers?" he asked.

Linda clasped her hands in front of her apron. "She saw them, Alpha. But she seemed quite upset after reading your card."

Alpha Dominic’s eyebrows went up.

Card?

Then it hit him, and he pulled out his phone to text Elara.

Upstairs, Elara lay on her bed, dying of embarrassment at the thought of Linda seeing that card. She wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.

Just then, her phone buzzed.

It was a message from Alpha Dominic:

[I wrote the card myself. No one else saw it. Only you and me.]

Elara didn’t believe him completely.

Another message appeared:

[Don’t be mad. If anyone else saw it, I swear on the Moon Goddess I’ll never have pups.]

Elara had to admit his crazy promise made her feel a little better.

[Luna Wolfe, will you open the door now?]

Elara sighed. She was still embarrassed, but at least he was trying to make things right.

Then she unlocked the door. Alpha Dominic was leaning against the doorframe with a small smile.

"Orion just called. He misses you and wants to take you out for dinner."

"He hasn’t asked me," she replied suspiciously.

Right on cue, her phone rang.

"Auntie Elara!" Orion’s excited voice came through the speaker. "Grandpa gave me my money today! I want to take you out for dinner!"

"We won’t eat at home. Let’s go on a date!" the boy continued happily.

Looking at the happy little boy’s face on screen, Elara couldn’t help but smile. "Okay, thank you."

She couldn’t say no to such an adorable pup.

Alpha Dominic’s lips were just starting to smile when his sneaky nephew added, "Just the two of us, Elara! Uncle can stay home and eat by himself!"

Elara glanced up at Alpha Dominic’s suddenly shocked expression, trying not to laugh. "Are you sure you don’t want to invite your Uncle ?"

"Nope! Just us two," Orion said firmly. "Uncle would just be a third wheel. We don’t need him!"

"Orion," Alpha Dominic said through his teeth, reaching for the phone, but Elara quickly hung up before he could grab it.

Elara looked up at him with a smug grin. "You’re a grown Alpha picking on a little pup."

In the end, Alpha Dominic drove them to the mall himself, while Orion kept telling Alpha Dominic to go back home and not ruin their date.

Alpha Dominic clenched his jaw, mentally adding this chubby little backstabber to his payback list.

Orion’s small hand held onto Elara’s as they walked through the mall. "Elara , can you help me buy something?"

Elara smiled warmly at the little boy. "What do you want to buy?"

Orion looked shy. "It’s Molly’s birthday, and I want to get her a present."

"Auntie, I have a thousand dollars! What do you think I should get her?" he asked, his eyes bright with excitement.

Elara looked at the little boy who was slowly turning red with an odd expression.

If she remembered correctly, Orion was only six years old.

Did he already have his first crush?

"I can help you shop, but can you tell me who Molly is?" she asked gently.

Orion smiled shyly. "She’s my classmate who sits next to me. Auntie, Molly is so pretty! All the boys in class like her."

"And what about you?" she teased.

"Auntie! You’re making me blush," he laughed. "I like her a little bit."

Elara led Orion to a toy store. "How about a teddy bear?"

Orion shook his head hard. "No way. Everyone will give her those."

They walked around the mall until they finally picked a crystal hair clip.

After they finished shopping, Orion offered to take Elara to dinner.

Of course, Elara wouldn’t actually let the little boy pay for their meal. They chose a casual restaurant where Orion happily ate garlic chicken wings. His cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk as he chewed.

About thirty minutes before they finished, Elara texted Alpha Dominic.

He replied immediately that he wasn’t far and would come right away.

Elara held Orion’s hand as they walked toward the elevator.

--

At the same time, Alpha Zack, who was also eating out, frowned as he watched them leave.

"Zack, the restaurant is this way. Why did you stop?" Selina pulled at his arm.

Alpha Zack pulled away from Selina’s hand. "I left something in the car. You go to our table first. I’ll be right back."

Selina just stood there, watching as Alpha Zack hurried after Elara and Orion.
