Chapter 147: Chapter 147 Connections Deeper Than Blood

Author

When Yardley brought Nancy back to their seats, Elizabeth turned to her granddaughter. "Elara dear, is that Yardley’s girlfriend?"

Everyone had noticed the slight smile on Yardley’s usually serious face just moments ago.

Elara froze for a second before quickly explaining, "Grandma, I don’t think so. Don’t jump to conclusions."

Alpha Hunter ’s eyes lit up. He knew his eldest son better than anyone. That look meant the boy was definitely interested!

Elizabeth nodded thoughtfully. "Oh, I see. I thought she might be Yardley’s girlfriend. Well, they do look good together though."

Since their cheering squad was so large, there weren’t enough seats together. Alpha Hunter and Elizabeth took two spots next to each other in the third row center.

Alpha Dominic sat beside Elara, each leaving an empty seat.

Nancy didn’t hesitate to sit next to Elara. As she sat down, she apologized, "Sorry, sorry! I didn’t expect the traffic to be that bad today. But at least I made it before it started, right?"

Elara’s voice was warm and reassuring. "It’s fine, you’re not late at all. The show starts in about three minutes."

Just like that, Yardley and Nancy ended up separated by two people.

In Yardley’s mind, that felt way too far apart.

Yardley shot his brother a cold look, but Alpha Dominic completely ignored him.

Instead, Alpha Dominic was too busy giving Elara attention. "Babe, let me hold your bag for you."

Yardley covered his mouth and cleared his throat twice.

Alpha Dominic acted like he heard nothing. "Babe, are you cold? I can take off my jacket and put it over your legs."

Elara caught the subtle tension brewing between the brothers and felt a headache coming on. She found the man beside her slightly annoying. She shook her head. "No need. I’m not cold."

Yardley’s patience finally snapped. He let out a light scoff. "Dominic, switch seats. Have the two ladies sit in the middle, and you take the outside seat."

Dominic’s eyes sparkled with mischief. Oh, this was too good. His usually composed older brother was actually getting flustered over seating arrangements.

A playful smile appeared on Dominic’s lips. "That’s not necessary, is it? The show’s about to start. All this moving around would bother the people behind us."

"This is a public space," he said, lowering his voice. "We should be polite. Otherwise people might think you’re being rude. That wouldn’t look good for pack leadership."

Yardley was speechless. He snorted and shoved the support sign sitting on the floor into Dominic’s lap.

"Fine then. When Orion comes out, you’re holding up his sign. You can’t just sit in the best spot and do nothing."

"The kid spent days making that thing. If you don’t hold it up and he comes crying to you later, that’s not my problem."

Alpha Dominic looked down at the poster board in his lap and felt his smugness evaporate instantly.

Now it was Dominic’s turn to be speechless.

[Do we really have to turn a simple seating arrangement into tactical warfare? Seriously?]

Elara was actually curious about little Orion’s support sign. She leaned over to look, and her smile froze on her face.

[Universe’s Most Amazing Super Handsome Boy. Orion is the BEST!]

Elara’s mouth twitched. "Well... it’s... very confident. Really shows his personality."

Nancy, who had just promised to cheer for the little guy, also saw the huge bright poster. She pressed her lips together, suddenly grateful she’d taken the end seat.

"Maybe we should just use those small clapping sticks instead."

Elara nodded right away. "Here, you take one, I’ll take one. Perfect."

Once all the cheering stuff was handed out, Alpha Dominic realized he’d been completely tricked. He was stuck holding the most embarrassing sign in elementary school talent show history.

Soon enough, Orion took the stage as the second performer.

His eyes immediately found Nancy holding the small sign he’d made, and his face lit up.

Though he did feel a tiny bit let down. It would’ve been way cooler if Nancy was waving the giant one.

He shifted his gaze and spotted Dominic reluctantly clutching the large support banner in his lap. Orion frantically started winking and making faces at him.

Even Elara caught Orion’s little expressions. "Dominic, hold that sign up properly! You promised you’d cheer for him."

Alpha Dominic reluctantly raised it, basically hiding his entire face behind it.

Several nearby parents glanced over, trying to stifle their laughter.

"That kid’s cheering section is really over the top."

"I love the confidence though," another parent whispered. "Wish I had that kind of self-esteem when I was his age."
