Chapter 116: Chapter 116 Why The Hell Is HE Here Again?!
Elara
When I managed to get a completely wasted Nancy out of the bar, I stood on the sidewalk feeling totally lost.
That’s when Dominic showed up.
I blinked in surprise at seeing him there, but honestly?
A wave of relief washed over me. Having my husband appear when I needed help most felt pretty amazing.
Nancy mumbled something incoherent and nearly face-planted into my shoulder, which quickly snapped me back to reality.
Looking down at Nancy swaying in my arms, I rubbed my forehead in concern. "I don’t know her address. She’s out cold. Maybe we should take her back to our place?"
I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone in a hotel room in this state. Taking her home where we could look after her seemed like the best option.
Dominic raised an eyebrow.
"That works. Orion will probably be over the moon," he said.
I nearly forgot that Orion was staying with us.
"Good point. Can you grab our bags? I’ll help her walk."
As the other woman here, it seemed more appropriate for me to support Nancy.
We managed to get her into the car and back to our home, where Orion was just getting up for a glass of water when we arrived.
His eyes lit up at the sight of Nancy. "Aunt Elara, why is Aunt Nancy at our house!"
Dominic chuckled softly at the boy’s excitement.“Our house? It’s MY house with my mate.”
I patiently explained, "Orion, sweetie, Miss Nancy isn’t feeling well today. I’m going to take her to the guest room. You should go back to bed, okay?"
I asked Dominic to call Linda. She arrived quickly from next door.
Together, we managed to get Nancy cleaned up and into fresh pajamas. Linda also made some hangover tea and put it in a thermos.
By the time I was confident Nancy was genuinely asleep, it was already two in the morning.
I told Linda to go back to bed, closed Nancy’s door, and left her a note by the thermos in case she woke up confused.
Only then did I return to our bedroom, surprised to find Dominic still awake.
His intense gaze followed my every movement. I felt a flush creeping up my neck. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Nothing," he replied with a subtle smirk. "Just remembering how when I was drunk, you didn’t take care of me like that."
I couldn’t help rolling my eyes. "Were you actually drunk that time?"
If I remembered correctly, that sneaky wolf had been faking it!
And now he had the nerve to bring it up again.
Dominic scratched his nose, changing the subject. "Okay, okay. But guess who just texted me?"
I shook my head. "Who?"
With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he beckoned me closer. "Come see for yourself."
Curiosity getting the better of me, I moved closer to look at his phone screen.
[Yardley : Was the friend my sister-in-law mentioned Nancy?]
Dominic’s eyes twinkled with satisfaction. "Do you realize how big a deal it is for my brother to ask about her?"
I was surprised.
"I’m betting my brother has his eye on your friend!" Dominic stated confidently.
I frowned slightly. "Really? Just because she looks like Orion’s mother?"
I wasn’t entirely comfortable with that idea.
[ Nancy deserved better than to be someone’s replacement. Not that Yardley wasn’t a good man, but Nancy was such a strong, independent woman.
She deserved someone who wanted her for herself.]
Dominic stretched out on the bed, his smile turning playful. "Just watch. Let’s see how long my brother can hold out."

Nancy woke with a pounding headache.
"Ugh..." she groaned, clutching her temples as she slowly opened her eyes.
A chubby little face appeared inches from hers, startling her.
"What are you doing?" she exclaimed.
Orion looked hurt, his lower lip jutting out. "Aunt Nancy, it’s me, Orion. Don’t you remember me? You’ve been sleeping forever! I came to tell you breakfast is ready."
Nancy finally recognized him as Elara’s nephew. Glancing around the unfamiliar room, she spotted a note on the nightstand.
[You had way too much to drink last night, and I didn’t know your address, so I brought you home with us. I got you changed into clean pajamas – sorry about that. There’s hangover tea in the thermos. Should help with the headache. – Elara]
The memories of the previous night flooded back. "I’m sorry, Orion. Thank you for waking me. I’ll get up now. You can go eat without me."
Orion made a small huffing sound. "I’ll wait for you outside, Aunt Nancy."
After Nancy finished in the bathroom, she discovered her clothes from yesterday had been washed and were hanging to dry. Beside them sat skincare products and makeup.
Elara had covered all the bases.
Remembering yesterday’s events, Nancy felt a wave of embarrassment.
After getting dressed and making the bed, she left the bedroom and tried to find her way to the dining room. Suddenly, she came face to face with a pair of piercing eyes.
Yardley set down his business magazine. "You’re awake? The dining room is this way. I’ll show you."
Nancy’s heart skipped a beat.[Why the hell is HE here again?!]
