Chapter 174: My Wicked Little Mate

Alpha Kane

"Fuck, Zara," I moaned, feeling the blood rush to my face.

Every inch of my body was on fire, eager to feel the wetness of her vagina, to feel it pulsate around me as she came. I managed to wait a full thirty seconds before I pounced on her, pushing her onto all fours.

Her rounded ass was raised in the air, and I entered her completely. I met resistance; her squeeze was unbearably pleasurable.

I felt her stretch to the limit to receive me completely, her grip tightly around my ass. I placed my palm on her buttocks, my eyes full of lust, watching her cheeks flush with each spank.

I wasn’t as gentle as the first time, as the fire was now consuming every part of me. Every cell, every hair, every inch of skin was engulfed in this aching fire, burning uncontrollably, fueled only by her touch. Her pussy clenched around my length as I slammed into her, roughly thrusting into her wet core.

"Look at you," I purred, unable to contain myself. "So beautiful, leaning over me."

I grabbed her by the lush hair and pulled, plunging into her. Her delightful moans turned into cries of ecstasy, my name falling from her lips like a prayer.

Unable to bear it any longer, I pulled her toward me, cupping her breast with one hand and slowly tracing circles over her clit with the other.

"That’s it, darling," I growled in her ear. "Come for me."

I kissed her neck, shoulders, and back. The sound of her moans echoed in my ears, imprinted in my memory. Each thrust brought me closer, but it was her orgasm that brought me to the limit, my seed spilling into her tight pussy.

Her eyelids fluttered with exhaustion, and, holding her close, I peppered her face with light kisses, whispering tender words until sleep enveloped her for the second time.

Alpha Kane and I slept all morning, hugging each other, trying to delay the inevitable. I would be leaving soon, and neither of us knew when I would return. I would either return before my heat began or suffer the consequences.

Guilt and nervousness churned inside me, but Alpha’s touch drove the heavy emotions from my mind. We lay in each other’s arms, our hands wandering over soft skin, and the intimacy blossoming within me was stronger than I’d ever felt.

This morning wasn’t about sex or burning physical desire, but about comfort, true friendship, and love.

"No one knows I’m leaving, right?" I asked, lifting my head from his chest to look him in the eyes. "I don’t want my family to know until I’m gone."

It was selfish of me to think that way, but it would have been easier. I wasn’t doing this for myself, but for this pack, for Sophia and Govinda. Now I understood how Govind could turn his back on his kind for Sophia, how the bonds of mating filled every aching hole in your soul.

"Only my Beta and Zeke will know," Alpha nodded, absently running his fingers through my tangled hair. "I’m afraid most of the pack already knows you’re my mate and their Luna."

Well, that got my attention. I extricated myself from Alpha’s warm embrace, propping myself up on my elbow. Alpha didn’t seem to mind that the pack knew, though I wondered where they’d gotten that information.

"How?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at his amused expression.

"It seems your father was delighted to learn that his daughter was our future Luna," Alpha grinned, his hair delightfully tousled from sleep. "He told a couple of his friends."

"Who, in turn, told the entire pack?" I confirmed, snorting at the smile that appeared on Alpha’s face. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"I can’t blame him," Alpha murmured, pressing feather-light kisses to my jaw and cheek. "Our pack is lucky to have you, Luna, willing to risk everything. Beautiful, fearless, there’s no one better for this job."

"Besides, I know how to handle you," I grinned, though the sincerity of his words brought a blush to my cheeks.

After another hour in bed, I had no choice but to shower and dress for the long day ahead. Tomorrow, I would no longer be part of this pack, and my future would be more uncertain than ever.

I had a mission: to protect this pack and, hopefully, to ensure a long and happy life with Alpha Kane by my side.

I put on something simple: a T-shirt and dark leggings. I wanted to get far away from the pack’s border before calling my father and his people. I wanted the wolves patrolling to be safe and prevent another fight.

Shortly after I got dressed, Dad called and invited me to have coffee with him. I knew I wouldn’t have the chance to say goodbye to my family, but I was willing to take the risk.

I was betting I’d survive and return with vital information about the coming war. Dad and Ryan would be furious, but they’d survive, and that was all that mattered.

I accepted his invitation because it was my last chance to see him. Alpha personally dropped me off at the coffee shop, giving me a gift.

He kissed me hard, making me wonder if leaving had been the right decision.

"It’s for Sophia and Govinda," Nova reminded me. "Neither of us wants to leave, but Luna would have done just that. Two members of our pack are as important as the rest."

She was right, we both knew it. Neither of us wanted to leave Kane; it just felt wrong, but the safety of this pack was more important than our own happiness.

Dad arrived shortly after Alpha left, his expression sour. His face was lined with wrinkles, his eyes clouded with sleep. He’d definitely seen better days. I’d been expecting him home for weeks; I was sure he missed his little house in the woods and his herb garden.

He never tried to fill it, but he filled the house with life and laughter. He didn’t let me and Ryan sit and mope. Mom wouldn’t have wanted that, and Dad knew it.
