Chapter 1177: Chapter 1177: I Missed You
Her spending tricks really left Su Li in awe.
Su Li lifted her chin and said matter-of-factly, "Of course he listens to me. If I tell him to serve tea he wouldn’t dare pour wine, if I tell him to go east he wouldn’t dare go west, I—"
Su Li’s voice cut off abruptly.
"Go on, why’d you stop?" A man’s cool voice lifted, sounding amused but not quite a laugh.
The man in a suit was standing not far away, a folder in his hand.
Su Li heard Xu Haohao laughing hard on the other end of the line, her ears burning, her face a little too hot to hold up.
She’d been caught red-handed, and in the act too.
Su Li coughed once and hung up. Then she saw Feng Huaijin walking over. "It’s only two in the afternoon, how come you’re back?"
Feng Huaijin casually put down his briefcase and stood opposite her across the counter, both elbows resting lightly on the surface. He lowered his voice. "Came back to get a file."
Su Li blurted out, "Don’t you usually send Xiao Heng to get files?"
Every time someone needed to pick up documents, it was always Xiao Heng. That was exactly the kind of errand he did.
"I missed you." The look in Feng Huaijin’s eyes darkened. He lifted a hand to gently flick aside the few strands of hair that had fallen from Su Li’s updo. Tilting his head, he kissed her on the cheek, a little reluctant to pull away. "I have to work overtime again tonight, so I came back to see you while I can."
Otherwise, by the time he got home, Su Li and Tuanzi would probably already be asleep.
Su Li’s face turned scarlet. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Tuanzi craning his little neck to peek, so she reached out to cover his eyes and leaned over the counter to kiss Feng Huaijin.
Feng Huaijin let out a low chuckle and pulled her into a tighter hug.
Su Li’s flushed lips moved slightly. "I bought that piece of land. Once I get everything sorted, I’ll give it to you."
The tenderness in Feng Huaijin’s gaze vanished in an instant. He straightened, tugged at his tie, tossed out a light "No need," and headed upstairs to the study to get his files.
This girl again, always trying to find ways to turn him into a kept pretty boy!
Su Li watched, completely baffled, as Feng Huaijin quickly grabbed the file and left. What did she say wrong?
"Mama, I haven’t been able to see for so long. Are you guys done yet?" Tuanzi was already protesting.
Su Li finally moved her hand away and gave a couple of awkward laughs.
Lately, Feng Huaijin had been working overtime nonstop because of the electronic chip project. Xu Haohao was busy with her game, and Lu Xiaomian was taking advantage of the summer break to do research.
In Tuanzi’s eyes, Su Li was the most idle one of them all—but that just meant he could stick to Mama all the time.
Tuanzi let Su Li fuss over him and change him into a handsome little suit. He asked very obediently, "Mama, are we playing dress-up?"
Black lines practically slid down Su Li’s forehead. Had she really been such a useless slacker these days that her own son thought they were playing dress-up?
Su Li pinched Tuanzi’s soft chubby cheeks and said seriously, "We’re not playing dress-up. Mama’s taking you to meet some grandpas and uncles who do scientific research today."
Feng Huaijin was right. If she wanted the company to keep developing smoothly, aside from its own competitiveness, it’d be best to get national support.
Looking at Tuanzi’s totally clueless little face, a smile curved Su Li’s lips...
The only one who knew Su Li was taking Tuanzi to the research institute was Feng Huaijin, and everything went very smoothly.
A few days later, in an excellent mood, Su Li took Tuanzi shopping downtown, each of them holding a cup of milk tea.
"Can’t make sense of this world anymore. It’s one thing for movie stars to do ads, but now even games are getting TV commercials?" a middle-aged uncle nearby spat and complained.
Su Li and Tuanzi looked up. The big LED screen in the city center was playing a game commercial—and yep, it was Xu Haohao.
