Chapter 497: Sudden Event.
Leo flew off to the Angkor city and then while he was flying his communicator pinged. This was a feature that was exclusive only to him and the upper management of the Cardinal Group. The normal consumers didn’t get any such features to prevent the surge which could lead to a lot of mishaps because of the static signal interference.
Another reason was the development cost of these features. It was not something that would fit the principles of technology invention. Cardinal Group had the motive to make everything easily available for the people, if they made things that caused stress for their customers then they would lose out in the big bunch of capitalists. The main thing was how they were reinjecting a significant part of their earnings to the people in the country and outside. This was why their customers were loyal.
Leo looked at the notification and found that it was a message from none other than the duke himself. He opened it and the content said, "Dear Leo, I am aware that you are very busy but there is something that would require your skills. I hope that you call me as soon as you get this message."
Leo thought about what this thing could be but he could not come up with anything, so he called the duke directly and the other side responded instantly, and the person asked, "How come I cannot reach you but you can reach me?"
Leo smiled and replied, "I am violating the rules of air travel for this, Your Highness."
The duke sighed and asked, "Well, I was hoping you were in the capital."
Leo asked, "What is going on?"
The man said, "We have just finished the inauguration of the international land bridge with all the facilities checked and green to go. However, the final destination of this bridge happens to be Sakura Nation and they want an international figure who could test the quality of the bridge.
It is not risky but simply time consuming. So the two sides have come to an agreement that two people will run a race, they will be starting from their points at the same time, the problem is that this bridge is not drawn in a straight line, it would traverse through the eastern mountains and then travel a small distance above the ocean level before descending into the underwater tunnel and finally coming out in the vicinity of the Sakura Nation.
The weather is not predictable in the mountains and the sea adding to it the underwater tunnel, the people are skeptical. We have fuel stations working at every ten kilometers, and same with high-speed response teams in case of an accident, even aircar ambulances have been deployed, they cover the entire route with a response time of two minutes at max.
So, we were wondering if you would make this trip?"
Leo raised his brow and asked, "Well, I can come up with something but before that can you tell me where did you guys send Snow and my kids?"
The duke chuckled and said, "You make it sound like we sent them somewhere dangerous. The finance minister has also gone to the Sakura Nation, if you can take the trip, you would be able to meet them there."
Leo nodded and asked, "When do you want me to take the trip? What are the regulations?"
Duke replied, "Nothing much, just try to do it as fast as possible and don’t crash while doing it, or your daughter might cause us to cry blood."
Leo chuckled and replied, "I am glad that you understand what Lily is capable of, but don’t underestimate me either, I will leave tomorrow, have your people coordinate with the people in the Sakura Nation, make sure their driver is also ready."
The duke nodded and the call came to an end. The flight landed on the ground in the Ankor City after an hour as well, Leo had finished researching the map for the trip and looking at the so-called map in three dimensions, he sighed and remarked to himself, "It must be something done by the Cardinal Nation as well, no wonder this thing was completed within a few months."
The young man sighed, and replied, "I have no idea what to say to these guys."
Then he got off the plane headed to the family and then he moved to the mansion where Elvin was waiting for him. The young man saw Leo and they exchanged a hug, before Leo asked, "Did you tune a Samurai XR from the hanger collection?"
Elvin rolled his eyes and asked, "This is the first thing you ask me after coming all the way to handle the gene serum administration?"
Leo nodded and said, "After I inject your ass, I have to take off. So, tell me, did you tune this thing?"
Elvin nodded and said, "Yes, I did, it is basically a rocket that can make hairpins with a smoke trail behind him."
Leo smiled and said, "I will be the judge of that, for now, get naked, and jump in that big tank of green piss."
Elvin was shocked, but the next moment, Leo walked to the side table, opened the vault and picked out a small injector gun and came back to Elvin and gave him the injection directly in the neck. Elvin winced and said, "Fuck, that stung like a bee on my balls."
Then Leo said, "You have three minutes, before your body starts burning like a furnace."
The latter was shocked and rushed to the basement where the rest of the guards spent their time to deal with their gene enhancements. Elvin yelled, "I hope you get a flat on the road; you jerk."
Leo didn’t care, they have been like this since they were teens, the young man rushed out of the mansion, headed to the hangar in the Angkor City, and went past through the security, it was the middle of the night for the guards, and they were shocked to see that Leo was here at this hour, however, after an hour, they found Leo had changed into driver suit, and then put on his helmet. He loaded a set of spare tires in the car and then he a tool kit and some energy jelly fluid sachets.
This place was a racer heaven and Elvin had stocked all these things for himself but Leo hogged them for himself and left a note on the locker, "Put it all on my tab."
That said, he got inside the car, and then rode out.
The entry point for the international bridge was located to the east of the country, near the mountains, and Leo had to reach there first, and he called the duke on the way, the latter arranged for a green corridor.
Since it was night, Leo didn’t get stuck in the traffic, but his speed was so fast that even if anyone found him, they would see that it was a white and pink streak in the darkness. The young man was simply on fire, and when he made a pit stop at the gas station, his tires were smoking.
The attendant there was shocked, when he spotted a young man driving in the full race suit and he had no idea how to react. Leo smiled and said, "Master, fill her up please, I am in a hurry."
The man nodded like his head was pecking at grains like a chick, and he filled it up. Then the man called the cops, and when the cops confirmed that Leo was out for a promotion event, he calmed down and made a clip for his social media account.
Leo didn’t mind it all, he sat in the car and then he rushed out from the place. In the morning, he was standing on the entrance of the internation bridge. He took a deep breath and confirmed with the duke if the Sakura driver was ready to enter the event as well.
Just then he saw a big screen that was supposed to have a welcome text, showed the face of the King of Clover nation and the prime minister of the Sakura nation together as they counted down fir the drivers to take off.
Three, two, one.
As the cars shot off the starting point the people said, "May the best driver wins."
Leo didn’t care about anything, the sun had just come up and he was driving like a rocket after he took off, his engine and tires had been running all night long, and since he needed to reach another country before the other person, the most crucial thing he needed to handle was the engine temperature, otherwise the car would break down and the event would be terminated and he would be stranded in the middle.
After a few minutes, he came up on the turns and remarked, "Oh, togue heaven."
As soon as he said this, he pulled the power break and then drifted the car along the bridge barrier.
