Chapter 1961: Chapter 1965: Such Powerful Electricity

For this trip ashore, Leng Zimo had also made thorough preparations.

Soon, the two of them had changed into their wetsuits and returned to the deck.

"If anyone calls, tell him I’ve already landed on the island." Patting Ah Jiu on the shoulder, Leng Zimo pulled down his diving mask, jumped straight onto one of the two jet skis prepared on the deck. "Ah Sang, Xiao Qi, Da Li, you three come with me."

The four of them geared up quickly. With one last glance at his watch, whose hands already pointed to twelve, Leng Zimo started the jet ski.

With the roar of engines, the two jet skis shot off from the yacht, plunged into the sea, and then sped toward the small island.

Ah Jiu stood on the deck, watching their figures grow distant, his brows tightly furrowed.

He understood Leng Zimo’s temperament; with Madam in danger, there was no way to talk Leng Zimo out of going. The only thing he could do now was pray this trip went smoothly and that Leng Zimo returned safely.

Just as Leng Zimo and the others’ silhouettes were fading into the distance, the phone in his hand finally rang.

"Hello?!" Ah Jiu answered immediately.

"Who are you?!" On the other end, Leng Zirui instantly recognized that the voice wasn’t Leng Zimo’s.

"I’m Mr. Leng’s subordinate, Ah Jiu," Ah Jiu answered politely. "Sir didn’t wait for your call. He’s already taken a jet ski toward the island."

Just from those three words, he hadn’t been able to tell who the caller was, only guessing it must be the inside contact Leng Zimo had mentioned earlier, so he was being very courteous.

"What?" Leng Zirui cried out. "How long has he been gone?!"

Ah Jiu glanced at his watch. "About ten minutes!"

Leng Zirui looked down at his own watch: 12:11.

This big brother of his, could he really not have waited just a few more minutes?!

"Got it. I’ll figure something out. You mustn’t act rashly, or you’ll get him killed!" Flinging the words into the satellite phone, Leng Zirui hung up, deleted the call log, then turned and headed toward the villa. He put the satellite phone back on its charging base and, seeing no one paying attention, casually pulled a thin copper strip—usually used for picking locks—out of his pocket. Walking toward the dining room, he noticed the restroom door was slightly ajar, so he quickly slipped inside, used the dagger he carried to cut a gap in the power cord on the washing machine, then turned on the faucet.

He peeked once toward the door at Madam outside, then carefully came out and, pretending nothing had happened, walked into the dining room.

In the laundry room, water rushed out of the tap, and the sink quickly overflowed. Bit by bit, the spreading water crept toward the exposed wire.

Finally, the water touched the wire, and there was a loud pop and a burst of electric sparks.

The wire shorted out, and the power to the entire villa cut off in an instant.

In the dining room, Leng Zirui greeted the others with a smile and sat down in his seat.

He had barely sat when the light overhead flickered twice, then went completely dark.

Leng Zirui tilted his head up at the dead light, the corner of his mouth quirking in a wicked grin. "Seriously? My electricity is that powerful?!"

Though he joked, his mood was far from light.

When he’d first come ashore, he had already noticed the radar installation. It seemed what Ah Ke had said before about there being heavy weapons on this little island wasn’t a lie.

He had temporarily cut the power; with no electricity, the radar system would be down as well. Hopefully, this would be enough to help Leng Zimo get through this unscathed.
