The moment Bai Zhi spoke, the manager’s face lit up. He quickly nudged the Sub-female, saying, "What are you spacing out for? Hurry and show our guest the way."

"What is the meaning of this?" Yu Jia demanded.

"What’s wrong?" Yan Yichen asked.

She looked up at the sky. "Is the temperature starting to drop?"

Hu Yan narrowed his eyes. "The deep winter is almost here."

Bai Zhi thought for a moment. "Should we start stocking up on food?"

Without waiting for a reply, she continued, talking more to herself, "That roasted beast meat from the other day looked pretty good. We should stock up on that. And we’ll need to purchase more ingredients, and fruit, too."

Yan Yichen looked on with anticipation. "My Lady, could you make more chew sticks?"

Bai Zhi readily agreed. "Of course."

As she spoke, she used her Light Computer to log onto the Star Network. "I’ll order some more ingredients. I can make you all some travel rations when we get back."

After placing her order, she realized it was still early. She thought for a moment and said, "Isn’t the testing center right next door?"

Hearing this, Hu Yan understood what she intended to do. "Yes."

"Since we’re here anyway, we might as well stop by. I’m quite curious to find out for sure."

Yan Yichen, who didn’t know Bai Zhi was a Purification Master, asked in confusion, "Find out what?"

Bai Zhi didn’t know how to explain, so she said, "Uhm, to get tested and see if I have a superpower?"

Hearing this, Yue Junxiao turned to look at her. "My Lady, you’ve never been tested before?"

"Yu Jia says Bai Zhi bought two buildings..." The Beastman’s face twisted into a vicious grin. "It’s time we go collect our debt..."

The other Beastman spat. "That bitch really is loaded! I told you we should’ve just kidnapped her. There’s no way her Beast Husbands wouldn’t have paid up!"

The first Beastman shot him a sideways glance. "Her relationship with those Beast Husbands is terrible. They’d probably be thrilled if we kidnapped her, and even happier if we killed her. Besides, our circumstances back then didn’t allow it, or else we wouldn’t be hiding here now. On top of that, her Beast Husbands are no pushovers. If we actually went up against them, we wouldn’t come out ahead."

As he spoke, a sharp glint flashed in his small eyes. "Contact Lao San and the others. We’re going to pull a big score. If this succeeds, we won’t have to spend the rest of our lives hiding like this."

Hearing this, the other Beastman hesitated. "But the casino..."
