Chapter 234: TW: CHANGE HIM FROM AN ALPHA TO A OMEGA
His hand drifted down, palm pressing flat against Ren Hao’s knee, then sliding to the joint of his leg where the bone met the socket.
His thumb dug in, hard, right into the nerve, and Ren Hao’s vision went white for a split second. He bit the inside of his cheek to keep from making a sound, and tasted iron.
"Should I break your legs? Your arms too, maybe. I could snap your elbows first, so you can’t even crawl. Just so you understand how pointless it would be."
Ren Hao’s whole body went cold. A sharp, metallic taste flooded his mouth, fear or the memory of it, or the blood from his own bitten cheek.
He couldn’t tell anymore.
"I’ll never let you leave me, Ren Hao." Shen Zihao reached out again, fingers trailing along his jaw with the same false gentleness as before. Then his hand closed, just slightly, just enough to press Ren Hao’s chin upward, forcing his eyes to meet Shen Zihao’s.
The grip wasn’t hard enough to bruise. It was harder. His thumb pressed against the hinge of Ren Hao’s jaw, right where the muscle bunched, and held there, a steady pressure that promised to dislocate if he pushed just a fraction more. "You’ll come to love me. You’ll bear children for me."
Ren Hao’s eyes widened, the first real reaction he’d shown in days. His stomach lurched violently, and he had to swallow hard to keep from gagging, the acid climbing up his throat and burning the back of his tongue.
"I know what you’re thinking." Shen Zihao smiled at the confusion on his face, pleased by it, the way he was pleased by anything that told him he still had power over what Ren Hao felt. "You’re an Alpha. You can’t carry a child, not naturally. But there are drugs for that. A series of injections, right into your spine. They’ll shut down your Alpha biology slowly, piece by piece. Your scent will change first. Then your body will soften, your bones will become more pliable. They’ll insert a device into your abdomen, something small and metal, to track the hormonal shifts. After six months, your body won’t remember it was ever anything else." His thumb traced along Ren Hao’s cheekbone, pressing harder than necessary, leaving a dull throb that radiated up into his temple. "I already have a lead on where to find them. A doctor who specializes in this kind of thing. It’s only a matter of time now."
Ren Hao couldn’t speak.

There was nothing left in him that knew how to respond to that, no defense built for a threat like this one.
His mind went blank the way a rabbit’s does when it knows it’s caught. He imagined the needle sliding between his vertebrae, the cold metal settling inside him, his own body turning against him like a slow, inevitable betrayal. His teeth ached at the thought of them loosening.
A knock sounded at the outer door, sharp, abrupt, three heavy raps that cut through the silence like a fist through paper.
Ren Hao’s entire body seized.
He wasn’t ready.
He would never ready.
His heart lurched so violently against his cracked ribs that a bolt of white-hot pain shot through his chest, stealing his breath, leaving him gasping in a silent, locked-open mouth.
His hands jerked against the cuffs, the raw skin tearing fresh, and he felt warm blood run down his palms.
He bit down on his tongue without meaning to, and the burst of copper flooded his mouth, thick and hot.
Shen Zihao’s eyes flicked toward the sound, and Ren Hao watched something cold slide behind them. The warmth vanished from his face, replaced by a flat, surgical stillness.
Shen Zihao straightened, slow, deliberate. He glanced toward the door, then back down at Ren Hao with a slow, humorless smile that didn’t reach the corners of his eyes. His gaze dropped to Ren Hao’s bleeding wrists, the fresh red dripping onto the mattress, and his smile widened just a fraction.
"Don’t go anywhere." He said it like a joke. It wasn’t one. "I’ll be back before you even miss me."
He left the door unlocked behind him, which was its own kind of cruelty. Ren Hao knew better than to test it. He always did, and it always ended the same way.
The hallway light fell across the floor in a single yellow strip. Ren Hao stared at it until his eyes burned, his pulse still hammering in his ears, the taste of his own blood coating his tongue. His wrists throbbed in time with his heartbeat, each pulse pushing fresh heat out of the torn skin. He did not move. He couldn’t. His body had forgotten how.
---
Downstairs, a member of the household staff waited by the entrance, visibly uncomfortable, the kind of discomfort that came from working in a house where certain doors were never explained and certain sounds were never mentioned again. His hands were clasped too tightly in front of him, knuckles pale. His collar was damp with sweat at the edges.
"Sir." The staff member kept his eyes down. "Your parents have arrived. They’re asking for you in the study."

Shen Zihao’s jaw tightened, the irritation from earlier sharpening into something colder.
A muscle jumped in his temple.
His parents didn’t visit without reason.
They never had.
He straightened his sleeves, smoothed the front of his shirt, and for a moment looked entirely composed, entirely ordinary, the CEO of Ruijie Corp and nothing more.
But his fingers lingered on his cuff for a beat too long, pressing the fabric flat like he was pressing down something else.
When he lowered his hands, there was a faint red smear on the white of his left cuff. He looked at it, then at the staff member, who had not looked up.
"Tell them I’ll be right there."
He smiled, and the staff member’s shoulders tightened in response.
The door to the study closed behind him with a soft, final click that echoed down the empty hall.
