Chapter 49: Arthur’s New Talent, First Encounter

"Master!"

Arthur emerged like motes from Aidan and manifested nearby in his mini-form, floating with excitement.

"I unlocked a super awesome ability with this evolution, Master!"

Aidan was checking Arthur’s status and knew about the talent already.

"Gear Morph, SSS-rank. Interesting." Aidan smiled. "Show me its power, buddy."

The next moment, Arthur turned into motes and wrapped around Aidan, turning into a full-body armor with an intricate system.

Aidan also felt stronger!

"All of my stats got boosted and became the same as Arthur’s stats. I am now a high-stage Legendary." Aidan blinked, surprised.

But that was not all, of course. He inspected the armor.

[Argon Exo-Armor—Energy: 100%]

—Asset System—

[Crimson Cyber Gunblade]

[Heavy Artillery Mode]

[Super Agile Mode]

[Titan Defense Mode]

[Data Transfer]

"Now this is rather amazing." Aidan’s eyes glinted as he read the assets in detail.

Crimson Cyber Gunblade was a weapon. It could work at both long range and short range with its sharp bladework and ability to shoot bullets.

Heavy Artillery Mode came with access to a bunch of heavy firepower abilities, boosting his attack power but lowering his speed.

Super Agile Mode boosted his speed but lowered his defense, and granted access to a different set of abilities.

Titan Defense Mode boosted his defense but lowered his attack.

Lastly, Data Transfer meant Arthur could change his form into any technological piece of equipment or system as long as Arthur scanned that thing. This power was a combination of his other two talents, Cybercraft Sentinel and Digi-Data Bank.

Of course, the main reason Arthur became like this, and even awakened this new talent, was thanks to Cybercraft Sentinel, an X-rank talent.

"By the way, since so many people from two guilds are dead, won’t there be a problem?" Solenne asked. "I mean, they must have told others where they were going, right?"

Arthur returned to his dragon form. "You all discuss this. I go eat. It’s been a while, and I am craving some humans."

Arthur went to have his dinner that was served outside.

"This location is indeed compromised." Aidan nodded.

"I say we leave now. There is a thread, faint, unsuspecting, but glaring." Tom’s eyes glinted. "It’s an enemy that is hiding. The thread is not directly connected, which means he doesn’t know about your identity yet, but he is onto you."

"Oh?" Aidan was surprised. "Could it be those people from Blazing Wings?"

Aidan had killed four scumbags from Blazing Wings to save Solenne, and each of them had an Epic-rank parent.

"Blazing Wings..." Solenne muttered.

"It’s not any Epic-rank. It’s a Legendary-rank." Tom answered confidently.

"And only the top seven guilds have Legendary-rank powerhouses." Solenne looked at Aidan. "Or a hidden Legendary?"

Aidan stood up, took a deep breath, and grinned. "Screw it. We’ll deal with it when the time comes. For now, we are going to party till morning, and then leave with the others for the Alliance Hunter Planet."

"What about me?" Solenne asked.

"Of course, you are coming with me. Tom will keep you hidden in his pocket space. You can do that, right?"

Tom rolled his eyes. "Easy peasy."

And so, the gang went out to another city, picking City Y this time.

The goal was to have fun. Drink, dance, party.

And if anyone messed with them, they would become Arthur’s food.

...

Morning arrived, and everyone gathered at the space station high above.

Epic-rank and Legendary-rank Hunters could fly easily, so they arrived there.

The GHA was worried about troubles occurring since almost all peak Epic-rank Hunters, numbering three hundred, and all thirteen Legendary-rank Hunters were leaving.

Terror Tears had to be handled, after all. If not, they would pour out Terrors across the world and cause catastrophe.

Fortunately, the Cloud Whirl Galactic Alliance already had a solution for it. Their space station had a device to entirely scan Earth for all Terror Tears and Terrorized Dimensions, and they had stationed their own Epic-rank and Legendary-rank Hunters here to clear the Epic-rank and Legendary-rank Terror Tears.

Since many strong Hunters were leaving, the spawn rate of Epic-rank Terror Tears and Terrorized Dimensions would decrease, and the same would happen with Legendary-rank ones despite their spawn rate already being very low.

SSS-rank Hunters and below were still here, so Tier-10 Terror Tears and Dimensions would still appear, but they would be handled by SSS-rank Hunters.

Only the main force was leaving.

Aidan stood alongside hundreds of others on a giant ship’s deck.

He was the only SSS-rank Hunter on this ship.

Aidan had familiarized himself with some of the Hunters and was talking to them.

Everyone was polite and enthusiastic with him thanks to his ’background.’

"Oh, there he is. Mister Jiran." Aidan smiled at Jiran. "Master loved your food, by the way."

"Good to hear that." Jiran smiled. "Did he mention any gift?"

"Hahaha, of course." Aidan grinned. "He said when he meets you personally, he’d give you a gift personally crafted by him. After all, you gave him handmade food, so he insists on giving you a handmade gift."

"Well, cough, that’s good to hear." Jiran chuckled wryly.

"Everyone." Kaelen’s voice rang out, attracting everyone’s attention.

Kaelen had just finished talking with the people of the Alliance and got information about the place they were going.

"We are going to a planet called Hunter’s Shack Three. It’s thirty-eight times bigger than Earth and houses roughly twenty-eight million Hunters, all ranging from A-rank to Divine-rank."

After pausing for a second, he continued. "We are given one permanent Legendary-rank Terrorized Dimension, but it’s not sustainable for long. For starters, all of you peak Epic-rank Hunters will enter it and search for resources to break through. If you can’t do that, you can also take up Epic-rank missions to earn contribution points, and then use those contribution points to acquire resources to break through."

"Us Legendary-rank Hunters will also start taking up missions to clear Legendary-rank Terror Tears and earn contribution, as that’s the only way to earn resources to increase our parameters. However, if anyone wants to win an Epic-rank or Legendary-rank Terrorized Dimension, they are free to participate in the tournament. If you win, you can decide who can enter your property and who can’t."

Everyone nodded, anticipation and excitement clear in their eyes.

People then resumed talking with each other while the giant River-class spaceship departed and entered FTL (Faster Than Light) drive.

Aidan was inspecting everyone as well, checking whether he could see their status or not.

"Hello, Mister Garen."

Hearing a voice behind him, Aidan turned around and saw a man with medium-length brownish hair and light gray eyes with brown pupils.

Lean and slim in physique, six-point-one feet tall, and an overall handsome appearance with a cozy vibe.

Aidan blinked. "You are..."

"I am the guild leader of Nightspire, the eight-ranked guild. I go by the name of Ouja Sinclair." The Devil Prince’s smile edged a little wider as he stretched out his hand for a handshake, a gleam shining in the depths of his eyes.

’So it was you all along...’

Aidan also inspected Ouja and froze for half a second before stretching out his hand as his smile turned into a grin.

[Tom: Yeah, I can confirm. It was this thread snooping around you.]

"Well, well, what a surprise, Mister Ouja." Aidan chuckled.

"Indeed, indeed." Ouja smiled and nodded.
