Chapter 2051: Feeding Frenzy
The group slowly advanced, and after getting within a good distance, a small floating figure came to view.
The cold energy radiating from the small floating creature’s body was terrifying to say the least. They could not get a proper view of the creature due to the mist and could only sense it with the help of their mental senses. From Grey’s speculation, this single creature is as strong as a Sixth stage Sovereign. A Sixth stage Sovereign was not too much work for either of them, so without hesitation, Grey used his space element to isolate the Seelie-like creature.
The creature screeched, unleashing a grating noise that made the group close their ears. Seelies do not make this type of sound, a confirmation that this thing was not truly a Seelie.
As the Seelie-like creature struggled, Grey and the others used their essence to try to knock it unconscious. As much as it seemed ethereal, it was still a living creature. Under enough pressure, it was bound to pass out.
Just as the group expected, the Seelie-like creature was instantly incapacitated by their combined pressure. And immediately they tried to secure it, it vanished into a puff of smoke, a very cold smoke. Inside the smoke was a drop of crystalline liquid that gave off a strange glow. Klaus stretched his hands forward as he tried to touch the liquid. The second his palm came close to the liquid, his entire body froze up as a jolt ran down his body.
"Retreat!" He flew back hastily as he warned the others.
Grey and Alice also noticed the oddity at the same time as Klaus, so they retreated alongside him. Reynolds might have reacted last, but his pace was by no means slow.
"What’s that?" Alice asked in a worried tone.
"It’s like... poisonous water. How should I explain it, the coldness stored within the water contains a shocking amount of freezing power, and this one isn’t something that can easily be dealt with. Once this freezing energy sneaks into the body, it’s almost impossible to remove it. It will slowly freeze the person’s innards until death." Klaus explained. Being a member of one of the top ice users faction, he had read about practically all forms of cold energy, and this was one of the deadliest.
According to records from his faction, one of the predecessors of the Moonlight Faction acquired this strange ice ability when he was younger and went on to become one of the most feared experts after she got to the Sovereign Plane. It was said that as long as her cold energy managed to invade the body of her opponent, then the battle was as good as finished.
"Is there any way we can seal it and use it against the Gnomes?" Grey asked with glowing eyes. Even if the liquid does not benefit them, if they could use it against the Gnomes then it would be worth the stress.
"None I’m aware of. I can try, but you have to remember that there are other creatures like this here, once they are attracted here, we might fall into danger." Klaus explained.
"There’s no harm in trying. We have a short window, if you’re unsuccessful in the initial attempt then we will just retreat." Grey did not want to give up on the opportunity of having a trump card like this.
Klaus nodded and took action. Their first action would have already alerted the other creatures close by, so if he wanted to act, he could only act now.
Taking a deep breath, he stretched forth his right hand and specks of snow started to form around the liquid.
As the specks of snow surrounded the liquid, it started to show signs of freezing. In a second, an ice dome formed around the liquid as it tried to seal all the cold invasive energy inside the small ice dome.
"Whatever you’re doing, be fast, I can sense six rapidly approaching." The bunny leader urged.
Six of these Seelie-like creatures were no issue to the group, however, six would be able to slow them down enough for more to join in on the fight, so they had to make sure they were not forced to exchange blows with them.
Klaus gritted his teeth as he did everything he could. After the ice dome fully formed, he controlled it over to his side, trying to seal it.
The ice dome shattered right as he tried to seal the liquid.
Seeing Klaus’s failure, Grey and the others did not dally, moving away from this location.
A few seconds after the group left the area, tens of Seelie-like creatures arrived. They circled around the liquid before one of them opened their small mouth and took a bite of it. After the first one took a bite, the others rushed towards it and frantically all tried to get a bite. In the struggle, a few of the Seelie-like creatures were killed and more liquids appeared. The scene became even more frantic as more and more of them fought to take bites of these liquids.
Grey and the others had no idea of the frenzy that they had caused, they were a little frustrated at the fact that they could not get anything from the Seelie-like creature. It was literally the main reason they came here in the first place. Now all they could do was hope the source of the cold here would be of help to them.
....
The Aurora Continent.
Over the past few months Grey and the others were exploring the small world, the war against the Gnomes was getting fiercer and fiercer. The regions occupied by the Gnomes were also growing exponential. At the rate everything was developing, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the Gnomes would eventually defeat the Human experts and conquer the Human World.
Everyone fought fearlessly against the Gnomes as new names came out from all directions, these were the names of the fast rising talents, talents keeping the Gnomes in check, ensuring the humans did not fall.
