Chapter 190: Chapter 139: 7 New Skills
He happened to have the Secret Silver Gloves, so choosing the [Punching Fist] skill to land an occasional punch might prove surprisingly effective in close combat.
It was another simple Ordinary Level skill. Lin Mo opened the scroll, read it carefully, tried to channel its power, and quickly learned it.
"Learned Skill [Punching Fist]. Gained attribute point: Strength +1!"
[Punching Fist] Level 1 (0/10): Consumes Qi and Blood to launch a Punching Fist attack on an enemy.
The last Ordinary Level skill was magic—[Wind Blade Skill].
This one was slightly more complicated than the previous two skills, though not by much.
By now, Lin Mo was well-versed in learning Magic. He studied the skill’s composition circuits. This type of Basic Magic only had two, both of which were very simple. He quickly mastered them and then attempted to combine them.
Although dealing with a new element he had no experience with caused a slight delay, Lin Mo still managed to learn the new magic in about half an hour.
"Learned Skill [Wind Blade Skill]. Gained attribute point: Magic Power +1!"
[Wind Blade Skill] Level 1 (0/10): Consumes Magic Power to gather Wind Element, forming a Wind Blade to attack an enemy.

The attribute increase from the three Ordinary Level skills was quite limited. A single attribute point was no longer a major boost for Lin Mo.
Next were the two Excellent Level magic spells: [Flaming Arrow] and [Clear Stream Technique].
Excellent Level Magic was on another level of difficulty compared to Ordinary Level magic.
The last time Lin Mo learned [Thunder Strike Skill], he had failed many times initially. He only managed to grasp it after practicing for another hour back home.
This time, [Clear Stream Technique] was even more difficult!
In truth, utility magic wasn’t any easier to learn than offensive magic—it was actually more difficult.
Combined with the fact that Lin Mo had never studied Water Element magic before, he ended up struggling for a full hour and a half before he finally managed to learn it.
The next spell, the Fire Elemental Magic [Flaming Arrow], was much easier by comparison.
The first magic Lin Mo ever learned was the Fire Element’s [Fireball Technique], and he used Fire Element skills frequently, so he was highly familiar with the element.
He had it down in less than an hour.
"Learned Skill [Clear Stream Technique]. Gained attribute points: Magic Power +2!"
[Clear Stream Technique] Level 1 (0/10): Consumes Magic Power to cast Clear Stream Technique, cleansing oneself and weakening the effects of "Burning" and "Corrosion" received.
"Learned Skill [Flaming Arrow]. Gained attribute points: Magic Power +2!"
[Flaming Arrow] Level 1 (0/10): Consumes Magic Power to create a flaming arrow and shoot it at a target, dealing damage and applying a "Burning" effect.

The two Excellent Level skills increased Lin Mo’s Magic Attribute by a full 4 points!
Lin Mo glanced at his current status panel.
After learning those last few skills, his Basic Magic Attribute had now reached 18 points!
However, just having high Magic Power wasn’t enough. For a Mage, Spirit was an equally important attribute.
Having only Magic Power without Spirit would have an effect like a certain unreliable Mage who specialized in "Blast Magic"; their Skill Power was indeed fierce, but they were completely drained after a single cast.
That left the last two skills yet to be learned—[Basic Meditation Skill] and [Blood Qi Blade].
But Lin Mo didn’t plan on continuing for the time being.
For one, the learning difficulty of these two skills was bound to be high.
For another, studying for so long was exhausting, and he was getting tired.
’It’s about mealtime now. I should get something to eat...’
