Chapter 899: Chapter 899: Friend of the Wind

Yun Wang replied in a deep voice, "Don’t worry, Grandpa, I have a plan."

Pu Chen saw Yun Wang’s confident expression and knew he must have thought of something. Although his grandson could sometimes be stubborn, he was certainly not an impulsive person, and could generally be relied upon to handle matters well.

So, Pu Chen nodded and said, "Alright, go to the Holy Forest and make sure to bring Ms. Qin back safe and sound."

Just as Yun Wang was about to agree, Yun Cheng hurriedly approached and said, "How can brother go alone? Let me go with him!"

"I want to go too." Xiao Meng also walked over and stood next to Yun Cheng.

Yun Wang felt somewhat helpless and winked at Pu Chen from an angle they couldn’t see.

Although Pu Chen did not understand, he trusted that Yun Wang had his reasons, so he said to Yun Cheng and Xiao Meng, "Since your brother has some clues, let him go and see for himself. We will wait here for any news."

After speaking, Pu Chen turned back to Yun Wang and instructed, "Be careful in all matters, and if you can’t handle it, don’t be stubborn, come back immediately for help."

"Yes, Grandpa, don’t worry, I understand," replied Yun Wang in a steady tone. Then he nodded to the three people inside the room and left, heading alone towards the Holy Forest.

When Yun Wang reached the edge of the Holy Forest, it was already dusk. Following the location Yun Cheng had mentioned, he came upon the spot where Xiao Meng and the two Heavenly Bodies were found, and he saw a group of Demonic Beasts feasting. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The Demonic Beasts had been attracted by the blood-soaked corpses of the two Heavenly Bodies. It was food that came without effort, and many Demonic Beasts seized the opportunity to scavenge, including birds, small mammals, and insects.

Since this location was very close to the edge of the Holy Forest, there were mostly First Order beasts, which posed no threat to Yun Wang.

He glanced at them briefly, and before the feasting Demonic Beasts noticed him, he turned and left.

Deeper into the forest, where the trees grew denser, the pace of movement on the ground slowed down. Yun Wang then summoned magical power to form a pair of translucent wings behind him and flew up into the air.

However, his intrinsic attribute was Earth Attribute, so his flying skills were not very adept. He used flying as an assist, nimbly leaping from one tall, thick branch to another, searching for a familiar scent.

As classmates for many years, Yun Wang had a deep impression of Jiuge’s scent.

The Wind Attribute skill and the extremely fast red figure; these two distinct characteristics reminded Yun Wang of Jiuge. He didn’t know why Jiuge would come here, but since it related to Qin Sisi, he had to search the area.

He knew the relationship between Ye You and Jiuge was complicated, neither enemies nor friends; thus, he came alone.

If it indeed was Jiuge, he would persuade him to let him take Qin Sisi back; if not, he would think of another plan.

The cool night breeze brushed his face and body, sharpening Yun Wang’s eyes. The clamor of the past days settled down, and the quiet environment was more conducive to his search.

Persistence pays off. After a period of searching, Yun Wang finally caught that familiar scent in the night wind. Sharing years as classmates, he was confident he was not mistaken.

Yun Wang’s spirits lifted; he stopped and carefully distinguished for a moment before choosing a direction. He leaped and sped across the branches toward it.

Deep in the Holy Forest, inside a cave, Qin Sisi lay on a soft feather blanket, her eyes closed, breathing steadily, quietly sleeping under a bright red cloak.

At the cave entrance, Young Master Jiuge sat in his shirt, his eyes serene, holding a lusheng at his lips, and from it flew a melodious tune that traveled far through the silent night sky.

Hearing this melody, Yun Wang became even more certain of his assumption. Although his skill in Music Magic was not high, he could discern that the tune was played by a lusheng, which was the instrument Jiuge had chosen when studying Music Magic.

At this moment, he no longer needed to rely on his sense of smell; the clear music alone was enough to guide him straight to the cave where Jiuge was located.

The cold night breeze brushed against him, but Jiuge felt no chill, for in his heart, the wind was his friend.

To others, wind might seem erratic and chaotic, but to Jiuge, whether it was a gentle breeze or a fierce gale, all had their own patterns—straight, turning, spiraling...

If the pattern of the wind suddenly turned chaotic, it could only mean one thing: someone was disturbing it.

For instance, right now.

"Since you’re here, come out!" The melodic sound abruptly stopped, and Jiuge lifted his head, his gaze sternly fixed on the treetops opposite him.

Yun Wang was slightly shocked; he knew Jiuge had keen ears, but he didn’t expect to be discovered as soon as he arrived.

Since he had been found, there was no need to continue hiding; after all, his intention was to find Jiuge.

Yun Wang leapt up, arms spread wide, like a soaring bird, and charged towards the cave where Jiuge was.

Jiuge’s brows furrowed slightly, his wrist turned to put away the lusheng, and he raised his arm high, releasing the Wind Attribute Skill of the "Heavenly Wind Barrier" which protected the entire cave entrance.

Yun Wang’s purpose was to rush into the cave to see if Qin Sisi was inside, but he was forcefully stopped outside and even flung back a dozen meters, nearly losing his balance.

He quickly flapped his wings a few times to stabilize himself, secretly amazed at how much more powerful Jiuge’s magic seemed to have become.

Yun Wang dared not charge blindly again; instead, he changed direction and leaped onto a protruding large rock not far from the cave entrance and sat down.

"Old classmate, is this your way of hospitality?" Yun Wang said with a smile, half joking, half serious.

Jiuge’s eyes looked toward the bewildered night sky ahead and replied coldly, "I did not invite you; you are not my guest."

Jiuge used to be all smiles and laughter in the classroom; this cold demeanor now seemed unfamiliar to Yun Wang.

Thus, Yun Wang withdrew his smile and asked directly, "Is Qin Sisi inside?"

Jiuge glanced at him and replied, "It’s none of your business."

Yun Wang retorted, "Of course it’s my business. When the prince is away, I am responsible for her safety."

Jiuge scoffed, his tone laced with sarcasm, "Then you owe me your thanks. If I hadn’t arrived in time, she’d be dead by now. And what good would that do for you as her bodyguard?"

Yun Wang, unfazed by Jiuge’s sarcasm, sincerely said, "Yes, thank you, Young Master Jiuge, for your timely assistance. Now, please hand her over to me!"
