Chapter 72: Chapter 72 Love You to Death_1

The ghost noticed the Divine Dog’s Fury in Qin Sisi’s hand and felt the suppression it exuded. Fear crept into its heart, yet it was incredibly unwilling. A revenge plan built up over days was on the cusp of success. How could all the efforts be wasted?

After a moment of consideration, the ghost suddenly moved and floated in mid-air. Its ghostly hands transformed into several pairs, all flying towards Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi, who was prepared, did not hesitate to throw the Divine Dog’s Fury in her hand as the ghost approached.

With a miserable howl, the ghost fell to the ground, clutching its arm. Realizing it was no match for Qin Sisi, the ghost quickly tried to rise, aiming to float extremely fast towards the nearest wall.

The ghost was a virtual body and could pass through walls. However, Qin Sisi could not. If it escaped to the other side of the wall, it would be challenging to capture it.

"Trying to escape?" Ye You snorted coldly, and his purple eyes blinked. Two beams of purple light shot from his eyes, hitting the ghost’s body accurately.

Another miserable howl echoed as the ghost fell to the ground again. The parts hit with Divine Dog’s Fury and Ye You’s purple light were emitting black smoke, and the ghost’s figure seemed to be fading gradually.

The ghost struggled in pain. At the same time, it glared at Qin Sisi and Ye You angrily, asking bitterly, "Why? Why are you harming me?"

Ye You made several meowing noises in Qin Sisi’s ear. Qin Sisi looked at the ghost and said, "I have no grudge with you and did not intend to hurt you. I can heal you. However, you need to promise to calm down so we can sit down and have a discussion."

The ghost’s expression softened a bit. After considering it, he nodded, "Alright."

Ye You lifted his paw and gently sprinkled silvery sparkles onto the ghost. The spots on the ghost where it was injured stopped emitting black smoke, and the pain ceased.

The ghost stood up, looked at Ye You in surprise and finally rested his gaze on Qin Sisi. Those who couldn’t perceive Ye You’s powerful spiritual power would naturally regard Ye You as Qin Sisi’s pet.

The ghost stared at Qin Sisi and asked, "Who exactly are you?"

Qin Sisi calmly replied, "I should be the one asking you that question. Who are you? Why are you hurting Yu Ping?"

"You know her?" The ghost seemed surprised, but his surprise soon turned into gloom. After a moment of silence, he asked, "Since you know her, what do you think of her?"

Qin Sisi paused. She was not familiar with Yu Ping, and she only thought that Yu Ping was somewhat harsh. Apart from that, Qin Sisi couldn’t make any judgments about her.

So, she answered honestly, "I’m not familiar with her."

The ghost gave a wry smile and asked, "Do you think she could kill someone?"

Qin Sisi was taken aback, "Murder? You mean..."

The ghost nodded, with traces of sorrow and anger on his face, "Yes, she is responsible for my death."

So, he wanted to take revenge on Yu Ping for his own death?

This sudden revelation startled Qin Sisi. As she looked at the mournful ghost, she asked, "Why?"

The ghost let out a sigh and said, "My name is Tan Ke, and Yu Ping and I were lovers."

Lovers? Qin Sisi was even more surprised now. After all, Yu Ping was at least forty years old, and this ghost named Tan Ke looked no older than thirty. Furthermore, Qin Sisi could tell that he was a good-looking man.

Tan Ke didn’t seem surprised by Qin Sisi’s reaction as he too knew how odd his and Yu Ping’s pairing seemed.

Qin Sisi pondered for a moment and asked, "How could lovers become enemies? There must be a reason why she hated you that much."

Tan Ke looked somewhat embarrassed. He hesitated before finally answering, "I cheated on her."

So there was more to the story.

Qin Sisi scoffed and sneered, "Scumbag."

Upon hearing this term, Ye You couldn’t help but glance at Qin Sisi. It seemed that she was upset about this sort of thing.

Tan Ke’s expression changed. He quickly explained, "I didn’t mean to cheat on her. I wanted to marry her, but she didn’t want to because she was afraid it would ruin her image as a successful woman. So... In her heart, I am what I am. In a moment of anger, I just..."

The expression on Tan Ke’s face suggested real frustration and grievance. Qin Sisi asked solemnly, "And then she killed you?" Yu Ping’s strong personality was indeed unbending.

Tan Ke nodded numbly and spoke slowly, "I apologized and made promises. She agreed to forgive me. One night, she said she wanted to celebrate our first anniversary. We had a few drinks, but I didn’t expect her to spike my drink with sleeping pills. After I passed out, she... she severed my head and cut my body into pieces, hiding them in the freezer in the basement."

As he finished, there was hatred in Tan Ke’s eyes. After all, Yu Ping was the murderer who brought his young life to an end. How could he not hate her?

Listening to his story, Qin Sisi felt her scalp tingling. The process was scary just to think about. She couldn’t understand how Yu Ping could be so brutal. Was this what they meant by deep love wreathing deep hatred? Love turning into hatred, violent enough to claim a life.

"Don’t you think I should kill her to avenge myself?" Tan Ke’s face twisted as he stared at Qin Sisi, his eyes reddening slightly.

Qin Sisi fell silent. Eye for an eye was justified, but Tan Ke was the one who made the first mistake in this case.

Suddenly, Qin Sisi seemed to have thought of something. She stared at Tan Ke sharply and asked, "Tan Ke, do you love Yu Ping? Or are you in it for her money?" It always felt weird for a handsome young man to fall for an ordinary middle-aged woman.

Upon hearing Qin Sisi’s question, Tan Ke hesitated before finally admitting, "I was originally after her money."

"And then?" Qin Sisi probed further.

Tan Ke hesitated before saying, "After spending time together, and because she treated me well, I started to have feelings for her. I really wanted to marry her, but she wouldn’t because of her image."

Having some feelings and being in love were two different things. How could Yu Ping, such a shrewd woman, not distinguish between true love and pretense? Her refusal to marry might stem from protecting her image, or it might be due to uncertainty about their love. She probably once had hopes, but Tan Ke’s infidelity shattered them, turning love into hatred, leading to the extreme.

Qin Sisi sighed, not wanting to delve into the right and wrong in this relationship. She turned to Tan Ke and said, "I came here for the soul power. If you give me your soul power, I can help you fulfill one wish."
